The above dates were when I asked the same question about when layers will be implemented in this program (answer - coming soon) and I am asking again in 2015 as there still seems to be no movement in this direction.
I am a long time (frustrated) user of this program (i also have the screensaver producer), which apart from the lack of layers is a first rate application and has the potential to be the absolute best there is for icon (and small image) creation, but not having layers for so many years is just crazy, I currently have to use Photoshop to create the layered image and then import into IconWorkshop which is just not very efficient.
So will layers ever be introduced or will I be asking this same question in 2016, 17, 18...

ron r I am also a (frustrated) user of this application and I have also asked a couple of times on the website when the next major upgrade will come... if any...
Currently I would NOT advise anyone considering purchasing this until the next MAJOR upgrade is released.

This application has a lot of potential but there is also huge a need for bug-solving and improvements on functionality... tiny hint:LAYERS...

Is the support on this product alive? Is there any improvement on the horizon? Or this a way to just get funds an be done with it...

Preston Mitchell I purchased Axialis IconWorkshop almost 2 years ago. It is probably the best icon creator. But Axialis has been at version 6.8 forever (or it seems). The website still says it is compatible with Windows 2000. It almost feels like abandoned software. But hey, aside from the lack of layers, v6.8 does the trick nicely.

The product is still under development. Expect a new release in 2016. This new version shouldn't be compatible with Windows 2000 though :) Please note that current version is compatible with Windows 10 (not specified on the website).

We understand your frustration about the lack of releases those last couple of years. Next release has been postponed several times, sorry for that. Our team focused on releasing stock icons since this was a strong demand from our customers (a deal will be published for our Pure Flat 2013 stock icon sets in a few days on BitsDuJour).

I confirm again that the product is still under development and a new version will be released in 2016. If you have purchased a license you'll get this new version for free.

I am delighted to learn about the new version for 2016.
Will it be version 6.9 or version 7.0? I have version 6.8 already. I paid full price. *** SO, if v7, I hope you will offer a good upgrade price for your LOYAL fans who patiently waited YEARS for a version with layers.
I wish you great success with completing development.
And, Folks, the current version is a steal for $35. You can not buy a great icon editor anywhere else for that price.
