The problem with most backup solutions is that they depend on you, the human element, to be consistently reliable. You need to set up the files that you want backed up, then remember to run the backup on a regular basis – which we all know is like going to the gym or the dentist. Sooner rather than later, you stop doing the backups, then lose your critical data in a crash or other data incident. With BeeCloud Backup, the subject of today’s discount software promotion, you can enjoy a backup strategy that’s completely hands-free!

BeeCloud Backup requires only that you select which files you wish to be backed up, then takes over from there! With BeeCloud Backup, your selected data is backed up to an online server automatically, and is superior to local backup solutions in that it preserves up to 30 versions of each of your files. Plus, you can always access your data from any web browser, smartphone, or Apple device. Try doing that with an external hard drive!

When it comes time to restore your data after a loss, you can either access your BeeCloud Backup archives from a web client, or through a locally installed Windows application. Either way, you’ll be up and running quickly, with no negative impact to your workflow!

After you purchase BeeCloud Backup Unlimited Storage, it may be used for 12 months.

Bart Roelant No, this is only the Backup option but with unlimited storage space (normally $29.99 per year).
And it is only for the first year.

Allan Winston How does this offer differ from the "free" version I saw at
http://dottech.org/freebi...-beecloud/
?

Is it simply unlimited versus 512 GB?

Since multiple versions of a file are kept, a user would need to understand the nature of their data files. If they simply add new files periodically, there would be just normal growth However, if they are storing their Outlook data file, the multiple versions would cause explosive disk use on your server.

Jean Sibe 6 months in business, business idea is resell another service and to offer for free 512GB storage?

I don't want to be devil's advocate but people should have learnt by now what happened with Backify.

I just don't have enough confidence for this service.

Steven Avery Hi Folks,

Anybody who relies on the cloud for their primary backup is making a mistake. Unless you have redundancy with, preferably, 3 independent backups, in which case the likelihood of all failure is small.

(Note: I would give the same advice about relying on any image software that does not allow easy file-by-file backup).

Your primary backup should be local external drive, or an auxiliary computer of your own.

From that perspective I would not be overly concerned about any major player (apparently BeeCloud uses LiveDrive) since all my eggs are not in that basket.

My major concern is hooking up for a free account that becomes, at some point in the future, paid. I want to be sure that I feel comfortable with what I am getting into. Of course, if I am only using the backup on a non-intense level, that is less consequent, I could decide at that point a year later.

e.g. Mapping of the drive is primary to my understanding of good cloud backup, such as with WebDav and various utilities. And also helpful is what you have with DriveHQs file manager, similar to Total Commander. Once the drive is mapped, you can use Backup4All, Cobian and other excellent software designed for backup. For BeeCloud I have, apparently, an expense to do this (even with this special) and I want to make sure I am happy about the cost-benefit analysis. The question is combining good utility, sufficient space, a sensible company and no or low cost. I have not yet made a decision on BeeCloud.

Shalom,
Steven

Royce Englehart So, this is not a web based program since you have to download a Windows or Mac "client" to use instead of working through your browser. Since I am a Linux user this does me no good.
