A long time ago, on a computer desktop far, far away, you used to have just a few icons -- My Computer, Recycle Bin, maybe a couple more. Today, your desktop is loaded with "stuff" - icons for programs, for files, for folders, each one of them added to the desktop because you said you needed quick and easy access to launch them. But, as I see you fumbling around to open Explorer, browsing to "/users/documents and settings/desktop" because you CAN'T FIND ANYTHING ANYMORE on your screen, may I suggest a better way?
Berokyo is a stunning piece of software that takes all of your desktop items and arranges them in attractive shelves and cabinets on your desktop! Everything is organized into its proper place out of sight, yet remains ready to launch in an instant. Your cabinets are arranged on multiple shelves with categories and subcategories to keep everything neat. Just drag and drop items to arrange them!
What's more, everything in Berokyo can be personalized to suit your quirky tastes! Pick patterns and colors for the cabinets and shelves, and change the sizes and positions of your cabinets. Like metal? Got it. Like marble? Got that, too. Like wood? How about four different wood styles to pick from? You can even mix and match styles, so you can have metal shelves with wooden cabinets! Set custom hotkeys to launch your stuff. You can even set Berokyo to full-screen, auto-hide and keep-visible modes, depending on how much you adore the way it looks.
Still have trouble finding things? Berokyo has a killer incremental search function - just start typing and one or more possible matches are found and immediately presented to you!

- “We're skeptical about desktop organizers. They're poorly designed and end up being more difficult to use than the Windows interface they're meant to replace. That's not the case with Berokyo. In fact, Berokyo may be the single best program of its type we've seen.Where do we begin? We love just about everything about Berokyo. The interface lets you organize files, applications, and shortcuts into customizable cabinets that are incredibly sleek and attractive. The default cabinet that is created the first time you run Berokyo contains items from the Desktop, Control Panel, Quick Launch, and Administrative Tools, each on its own set of shelves. All of these can be rearranged and edited to fit the user's needs. You can create multiple cabinets and assign hot keys to each one, making them incredibly easy to access. We created a separate cabinet that displayed all the images in our My Pictures folder. Cabinets can float on the screen or be docked to a particular position, allowing them to slide in and out when you mouse over that part of the screen. The program also contains a customizable quick-search interface that you access with a hot key; it searches Google, Yahoo, Flickr, YouTube, Amazon, and more. The program's built-in Help file is well written and thorough. Overall, we found Berokyo to be both attractive and useful, and we can't think of a single complaint.Berokyo has a 30-day trial period. The program installs and uninstalls without issues. We highly recommend it to all users.”- CNET staff (http://download.cnet.com/Berokyo/3000-2344_4-10921707.html)
- “The well-organized Berokyo program launcher proves that cabinets and shelves can work to corral your digital clutter as well as your real-life bric-à-brac. Although there are plenty of free launchers available, such as the estimable ObjectDock and the innovative Enso Launcher, the $19 Berokyo justifies its price tag with a distinctive, polished layout and a host of customization features, such as automatically adding the contents of your desktop or start menu folder.Once you master Berokyo's categories, using this launcher is as easy as pulling a book off a shelf. After a speedy install you'll see a quick launch menu for your first cabinet. Your best bet is to immediately click \Help & Support in that menu and select the Quick Start Guide for some tips. While Berokyo is well set up for the most part, it's not completely intuitive. In particular, you'll want to know about the app's use of categories before setting up your first cabinet.Categories appear as shelves in a cabinet, and can be used to organize items by type or purpose. Categories can have subcategories, and each can be collapsed to show only a shelf and a name until you need something within it.To add items to a category, you can drag and drop, cut and paste or browse among existing items. A number of pre-defined options can pull in control panel applets, administrative tools, and other shortcut collections. If you select a folder with sub-folders inside it, you'll be prompted for how to handle those subfolders. For example, you can add subfolder items as subcategories, skip them or add them all into one main category. When seeking a particular item among all those categories and subcategories, use the helpful search box at the top of each cabinet. It will filter items as you type to display matching shortcuts. And as you'd expect, you'll find plenty of options for changing the look for each cabinet and individual shortcut.Cabinets will automatically hide until called up with a hotkey (CTRL and 1 for your first cabinet, 2 for the second, etc.). You can also dock a cabinet to a particular screen edge so that it slides out when moving your mouse to that edge. Another hotkey, CTRL-10 by default, will display all your cabinets at once.If you're considering a launcher to help organize and access your growing array of programs and documents, take a look at Berokyo. You'll have to shell out a few bucks, but you'll get plenty of nice features for your money.”- Erik Larkin (http://www.pcworld.com/article/192360/program_launcher_berokyo_looks_like_wooden_shel)
