How do you manage disk imaging, partitioning, and multi-boot configurations on your computer? If you’ve been out of the loop, you may not know that computers these days come in two flavors – the traditional BIOS, as well as the newer UEFI format. Well, with today’s discount promotion, you’ll be well-equipped to handle both – it’s BootIt Collection!

BootIt Collection offers you two applications to handle multi-booting, partitioning, and disk imaging for both standard BIOS and newer UEFI systems. With BootIt Collection, you’ll be able to manage your existing prior generation PC while being ready for your next computer upgrade.

BootIt Bare Metal is your go-to application for Windows computers running the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) and has all you need to image hard drives, manage partitions, and set up multi-boot configurations.

But what if you just bought a shiny new PC, and are facing the UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface)? Well, just run BootIt UEFI and go on with your business, without skipping a beat!

Mark Harper I'd recommend that anyone with the slightest interest in this software grab it while it's at this bargain price.
I’ve used this software in and its predecessors for many years and there is absolutely no software in the same league. I'm using bot the original BIOS flavour and the newer UEFI one too.
As a simple tool, it will allow you to boot multiple operating systems with fine control over which partitions each OS can see.
For the power user, it allows you to create, delete, resize and move partitions. It not only handles Windows partitions but many others 13 in total at present.
The icing on the cake is that a drive imaging (backup) tool is included. You can also clone disks as well as create backup images.
The Makedisk part of the software creates the boot media that is used to install BootIT and this can be either an ISO image (useful for VMs), a USB stick or a CD. Once installed to your hard drive BootIT only takes around 3MB of precious disk space and is best installed to its own dedicated partition.
Once installed you will have one of if not the most powerful pieces of utility software available at your fingertips.

Randy User A kind "thank you" to Mark Harper for his excellent review. I've no immediate need for this but it did catch my attention in the BitsDuJour daily email that I get. I have several different backup software from various vendors but none contain a Boot Manager that allows multiple Operating Systems to run on the same PC. Neat ..

Mark Harper You're welcome Randy User. It may interest you to know that Terabyte Unlimited also produce a full backup product (Terabyte Drive Image) which can work in tandem with the BootIT Collection. You can use the backup software for creating images on a schedule and all the usual backup tasks then should disaster strike you can enter BootIT maintenance mode and initiate the restore from there. As BootIT loads prior to you OS booting it certainly makes recovery very simple.
Both BootIT Collection and Drive Image work with any server OS too so our Linux buddies don't miss out either. It would have been good to have had a bundle of BootIT and Drive Image though.

Marcelo Spera I use it for a couple years now. It's great! Secure partitioning, great booting options and I just love their imaging software. It never fails! I recommend it. And the price is awesome!

Ed Ward Thank you, Mark, for your recommendation (one of the reasons I rely on BDJ). I just purchased BootIt and am eager to install and use. Unfortunately, prospective users (esp. novices like me) should be forewarned - just to install (and I assume use), the user must choose options on a dozen plus features, none of which are explained w/in the program. Nor are defaults offered. The user manual is lengthy (97pp; also last updated in 2014 and references "floppy disks" and Windows 7). So, unless I've overlooked something, there's a steep learning curve just to install and use the software. It would be most helpful if the developer offered a simple set of instructions to install and accomplish primary applications for the "typical user" of the BootIt.

TeraByte Actually, the defaults are already chosen for you, you just click next through them. Presuming you choose the BIOS option (BootIt Bare Metal), the simple step-by-step with detailed explanations are found in the table of contents under "Installing BootIt Bare Metal" / "Step A: Creating the Boot Media or ISO Image". Specifically using makedisk starts on page 11. There are lots of pictures and step-by-step information in the manual.

Ed Ward I've re-read the installation instructions... still numerous options that (as a novice) I'm unsure which to select. Also, despite the significance of the warning below, I (and most likely others) am unsure how to complete:

"You must disable the Windows 8 and Windows 10 Fast startup option or you risk corruption of your partitions and data. This option can be disabled by viewing the Windows partition’s properties in Partition Work and clicking the Disable Fast Start button. This can be done after the installation of BootIt BM has completed."

Since I'm unsure how to accomplish and don't want to risk corrupting my drive, I'm forced to cancel installation.

BootIt looks powerful and well designed. However, installation and setup is challenging for novices. I suspect there is a set of defaults that would work for 99% of typical users and avoid the challenges above.

TeraByte You just click next and take the defaults, that's already taken care of for you, only special edge cases to deal with firmware bugs or specific needs will you change the defaults.

As far as fast startup, you can search the internet and find lots of information on disabling it, but we also make it very easy in the program via Partition Work, double click the Windows partition (or highlight and click properties) and click disable fast startup button (or if already disabled, it will tell you).

Also, We tried to look up your order to send you specific information and links but your name was not found? You can contact support to be provided links to tutorials or answer specific questions.

Ed Ward Thanks... I'll follow up w/ your support. As I said, I like the features of BootIt and it's strongly endorsed by other BDJ users so I'm eager to install and use it properly.

Mark Harper Good luck Ed Ward you will not be disappointed with this great piece of software. As with all software, it can seem difficult until that light bulb moment. It is worth the effort of getting to know it.

Tomasz Lisowski I just purchased Bootit Collection after having used BootIt Bare Metal (NG before) for many years to try the UEFI version on my Acer V15 Nitro. The BIOS is in the UEFI mode, the SSD contains the EFI partition, the bit 55 is set in Properties. After rebooting, the laptop still boots to the default Windows 10 64-bit OS, bypassing BootIt. An attempt to use the USB with the installation media shows both the Reactivate and Upgrade options. Reactivate does not seem to do anything, while Upgrade tells that it is not able to configure UEFI for booting. Please help ...

TeraByte Obviously you'll need to get your BIOS to boot the installed copy instead of windows, but you should direct your question to support@ email address.

Taras User OK. I'm in. Why? Well sure I can definitely use the software. Sure it is cheap for what it does (even at full price). But why I clicked "Get this deal" was this:-

NOTE: Extracts onlybelow, but do go read it. Breath of fresh air in relation to "reviews" posted by many vendors. That why I like to support Bits Dujour and it's promotions. Need it. Try it. How else can you know.
