Brenda Adams I've loaded up the Pro demo and am excited. It looks like this will be a very useful program for me (as compared to others I've seen, bought, demo'd. I already think I'll want the Extreme. Can't wait to see how this all turns out...and can't wait to learn more about using it. Looks SO delightful! I'm pumped! :)

Just Buzz Folders Pro is on offer.

It is possible to run Extreme and Pro at the same time. I recommend trying them one at a time though. You can choose to have Buzz Folders Extreme appear below the open/save boxes just like the Pro version

I agree with Edward. Just saying it is a false positive is insufficient... what is this program actually doing? Is it an autorun utility, etc?

With such a warning, it is imperative to know the reason for the false positive and the program's actual function.

There are a few possible reasons:

Buzz Folders tracks the folders you open and save from. This could be alarming in other circumstances, but in this case it's desirable! You want it to do that as it's the main function of the program. ( All information that it collects is stored in the user's AppData folder, and every file can be opened and read in a standard text editor. )

Buzz Folders interacts with open/save boxes and windows explorer, by sending data ( folder paths ) directly to them. An AV program might not see this as a good thing, but if you're human and know the purpose of the program you can see it's perfectly safe.

Buzz Folders will start with Windows by default. This makes sense for a utility program you want to use everyday. Of course this can be turned off or on.

Brenda Adams Oh fiddle-d-foof! Haven't we been round and round already (everywhere) about these warnings? They aren't 'positive' warnings, as I understand it. They mean simply: you pay us to keep you safe, this is not a known vendor (to us) (I believe the vendor can contact them (say Norton, for instance), register, maybe pay a fee (I dunno) and this stuff goes away. But, it's my understanding that smaller, newer vendors just don't DO that...so these warnings continue. It's not saying CAUTION, we've FOUND a virus. It's just saying: few users, we know very little about the vendor, do YOU want to continue to load?
Can't we stop now about this...and get on with talking about the product? (I've loaded both the Pro and the Extreme--yes, Norton asked me if I feel safe installing an unknown--I pay them for this screening; this is simply one of the services provided.) I've been using Bits stuff for years. If I ever go belly-up, I'll let u know. ;)

(PS: I am only a user. This above is just my understanding after having rec'd these kinds of warnings when installing OTHER products that don't have thousands of users and aren't set up with Norton, etc.)

Of course if you get the Pro version now you can always upgrade, which gives you a 33% saving.

Noggin The Nog The one thing I wanted was a jumplist of the last umpteen folders that I had opened, but it does not seem to provide that. And it does not uninstall cleanly.

Amit Can it track recent opened folders of any file manager - preferably - cubicexplorer and xyplorer ?

Just need to know about them and not winexplorer and dopus which wud already be there.

Also can we open folders - recent and fav from system tray or software interface - as the bottom toolbar if can be switched off ?

It doesn't track recent folders in the file managers. It does provide a list of currently open folders so that you can jump to them quickly in open/save boxes ( http://www.buzzfolders.co...?f=6&t=257 ).

Your Top 10 recent folders are available from the tray menu on Buzz Folders Pro. And the "bottom toolbar" can be switched on/off from the tray menu.

DroidLuvr Oh, my gosh: there are so many grumbles about virus results and version offered that no one's actually talking about the program itself :(

I'm going to ask Jesus' question again: anyone using this that can compare it to Listary? I like the look of the larger "boxes" and so forth, but Listary stays pretty inconspicuous and it works with TC...

Any more details/opinions about this Program from dev and/or users here?

Buzz Folders now works with TC ( assuming you mean Total Commander )

I would say Buzz Folders is much more visible and upfront - the advantage here is that all your favorite folders are clearly visible and instantly available.

If you install a language file, you will need to restart Buzz Folders for it to take effect. If you right-click the tray icon, your chosen display language will be shown there.

Thanks for the input! Yes, I meant Total Commander...

The "hidden" part It is my biggest complaint about Listary; while the unobtrusive interface is nice in some ways, this looks more instantly usable to me, without the "remembering Listary is there" learning curve -- which I haven't mastered yet ;)

Thanks for your reply. It is true that the checked state on chosen display language. But for the rest there is nothing changed, the languages remain in English. But well, will again try to reinstall, maybe that it succeeds.

The language file won't change the Buzz Folders display language. It's only needed if your version of Windows has non-English display text, for example if your "My Documents" folder is called "Mijn Documenten".

The original Buzz Folders was made for use with a software music studio called Buzz:

I think that was in 2003 or 2004. I really just made it to keep track of my folders when I was making music. I actually learnt programming in order to make Buzz Folders! The first true Pro version came out in 2008 and although it worked with all programs and not just Buzz, I liked the name so it stayed as Buzz Folders.
