MiK Exactly what I need. THANK YOU :-)

EDIT: Software refuses to open (process opens, and is running at 90+%, but the CDRWIN 9 screen never appears)

Please advise, as I really need this software

NB: Using an XP machine, disabled Firewall and Avira when installing (internet disabled too, installs fine, but just won't appear)

Krysta Albot I had an expired CDRWIN 9 from a BitsDuJour offering a few years back. Got this one, deleted the expired one, installed the new one, loaded it up (says it's an expired demo), entered the new serial number, and then - nothing. Task Manager says the process terminated. Start up CDRWIN again and it's still showing the expired demo screen. Enter serial manually - still nothing. Process terminates when I try to register. Firewall is off, AV is off. Any ideas? Thanks.

But there is nothing below, neither any hidden text. Only yellow strip, supposed to have some Registration Key.

Constantin Florea I am sorry about the issue with the blank receipts. We will resend you the receipts containing the registration code. However you can also resend them from your Purchases page, they should contain the registration key now.

Kevin User Got the key by email, started demo version that installed, entered the serial, click OK, nothing happened! did this yesterday and today. Yet another load of rubish. Uninstalled and vowed not to bother again.

Ralph User Received the serial number by email, downloaded the software from the given link,
installed it.

What happens next is the same thing that Kevin Usrer posted right above my post:

I launch the program, it prompts me to enter the serial as one of the options, I enter it, click ok and the program goes away. I relaunch it and it is still in demo mode. I tried it several times, uninstalled reinstalled and again tried several times, still in demo mode.

William Hopper Same issue here, so I quit and deleted it. I believe it may have been because I had the April version on my computer - which I never used, so I guess it is immaterial.

Mark Magill I'm having registration problems too as I tried it once before and now no matter what I do it still comes up, said its an expired demo, and when I "Copy from clipboard" the serial code (to make sure it is right) it doesn't load. Just screen clear and nothing happens.

I tried using its own uninstaller to make sure it was out, even tried IOBIT's uninstaller to make sure it comes out clean, SAME RESULT every time. I really liked this program, sure hope you can help me get it to work

Krysta Albot Regarding the registration problem where you enter the serial, hit the button to register, and the program terminates: Is anyone having this problem a first-time CDRWIN user?

I bet it's related to having some old data in our registry which CDRWIN leaves behind for trial-period license enforcement, because I just installed this on my laptop (never had CDRWIN) and it worked fine, but on this computer and my old computer (being used as a media controller), both which had the trialware version installed before, then deleted, it refuses to accept the serial number.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO THE VENDOR TO HELP NARROW DOWN THE PROBLEM

Mark Magill @ Krysta Albot: I figured the same thing which is why I ran the IOBIT uninstaller (which is usually great at rooting out leftovers) as well as CCleaner after trying all the "normal" ways of doing it. Apparently there is a bit of trash hidden somewhere that's stopping it. Sad that a trial version would not allow the user to activate what would normally be a "paid" version with a valid code that we were provided in this offering.

I'll give it a couple days for the author to respond... failing that, I'll go look for something else. I had this program once on a computer that died via a giveaway before and really liked it, so was really hoping to have it again.

Krysta Albot @Mark Magill: Yeah, I also installed it back in 2014 when it was a free offering here. Then I got a virus back in March and one of the utilities I used to clean it stripped out whatever makes CDRWIN believe that it's registered :-( I've been using other utilities since then, but I miss the all-in-one nature of CDRWIN.

Krysta Albot Regarding the inability to register (program crashes after entering the serial number):

The developer contacted me and provided this fix which worked for me. I'm sharing the wealth :-) IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WORKING ON HIDDEN WINDOWS FILES, THIS MAY NOT BE FOR YOU. The "ProgramData" directory is hidden, and you'll need to either make it visible or use a third-party file manager that makes it visible.

PLEASE NOTE THAT I USE WINDOWS 7. YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY IF YOU DON'T

1. Close CDRWin if it's open.

2. Click "Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Folder Options" -> "View".

3. Select "Show hidden files and folders" from the Hidden Files and Folders option.

4. Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Confirm the action when the warning dialog pops up.

5. Click on the "Apply", then "OK" buttons.

6. Open the Windows Explorer.

7. Under "C:\ProgramData\Licenses\" you find a file "O84L9A.lic". Please delete this file.

8. Open CDRWin. Enter your license key.

If you share your computer with non-geeks or are a non-geek yourself, you may want to go back and undo steps 2 thru 5. The original settings protect your operating system from casual deletion.
