Quick! Close your eyes! Now describe everything that's around you in the room. Should be easy to do - it's your stuff and you see it every day, right?

As it turns out, it's really quite hard to recall everything you own, which is exactly what you would need to do if you wanted insurance to cover your losses as a result of a fire, flood, or other catastrophe. In fact, even if you do remember the basics, in order to make a rock solid insurance claim you're going to need even more -- make, model, serial... you get the idea.

The best way to be absolutely certain that you have a proper accounting of your home inventory is with Computerize Your Assets. It's a revolutionary program that makes it simple to document and catalog all of your personal assets, down to your last compact disc!

Computerize Your Assets is so easy to use you'll be up and running in minutes! You can keep track of an unlimited number of items stored in an unlimited number of rooms, and you can create categories to match your own personal situation. You can include digital photos and video of your items, and you can even scan in warranty and insurance documentation! Even your credit cards are covered by the program - just enter account statements and contact numbers to create a go-to resource should you ever lose your wallet. Computerize Your Assets even comes with a handy search function that allows you to pull up all of the information on a particular item just by entering its name.

Do you have several furnished apartments, a small business, a vacation home, or a city getaway? Worry not, the Extended Version of Computerize Your Assets also includes the ability to manage multiple properties at once!

The Extended Version of Computerize Your Assets also features the new Estate Planning function! Do you ever worry about conflicts over who's supposed to receive what out of your collection of valuables? Visions of friends and loved ones fighting each other over what your intentions were? Well, with the Extended Version of Computerize Your Assets, all you need to do is create a list of designated recipients, select one, and checkbox all of the things that you intend to give to that person "if anything happens". Plus, the reports produced from this information are perfect for submitting to an estate planner or attorney!

Once you have your entire life cataloged in Computerize Your Assets, you can view your inventory by exporting the data to a spreadsheet file, displaying a visual graph by category or location, or producing a summary or detail report, which is extremely useful for filing insurance claims. And, even though Computerize Your Assets contains an inventory of everything you own, no need to worry - all of your data can be safely encrypted, and secure offsite backup is as easy as a single button push!

Please note: although today's promotion is for the Extended Version of Computerize Your Assets, you have the option of selecting your "version of choice" at time of purchase. Take a look at the comparison chart to see which version is right for you.

This promotion includes the following:
Computerize Your Assets - Extended ($69.95)
Computerize Your Assets - Standard ($39.95)
'Run Your Own Inventory Service' - Business Edition ($1000)

CYA Software, Inc. We are working on the ability to to use CYA on a network with more flexibility, as well as access your data via a secure connection in the cloud. Both of these approaches will significantly affect the licensing model.

In the current version (2.10), you can very easily backup and restore from one computer to another. This is provided by the license agreement, that one person uses the program on unlimited computers.

You can read about this approach at:

geo User A question for the developer, I have purchased a previous offer of the software here on BDJ. It was for the standard version so, my question is , is there an option to upgrade to the extended or is it necessary to purchase a separate license ? I'm hoping not to have to get another license....somehow did not see that there was a more advanced version available.

William The fine print says "licensed per user". Does my insurance company need to purchase this program? If I use it for estate planning, does my lawyer need to purchase this program? I could print a report but my inventory changes occasionally and it's going to be a long report. Videos are hard to print.
Can an unlicensed user (eg, lawyer/insurance rep) see my inventory after I'm dead?

The FAQ on the product web site has a line which says, "To avoid the need for someone to be an administrator and assign passwords, CYA allows each user to maintain their own password." How does this relate to "licensed per user"?

Sorry for the barrage of questions and thanks for answering.

CYA Software, Inc. geo User,
There is an option to upgrade to the Extended version, it is available from the purchase page at from the drop down list of purchase options. However, the current promotion for the Extended version is your best option as a new license is less than the upgrade price for today. You will receive a new registration code to enable the Estate Planning features, etc.

CYA Software, Inc. William, in the current licensing model, Computerize Your Assets is associated with the purchaser on the PC on which it is installed. That is determined by the registration code we generate for your installation. The data can be backed up, and restored to another PC as well. You may provide the registration code to your lawyer as part of the data associated with your estate without requiring a separate license purchase as long as the intent is to access your data.

Within the application, you can specify individual "Sub Users" as well. The program will prompt for a user name and password if you decide to assign Sub Users, otherwise it will run on the licensed PC without prompting for a log in. Just make sure the first User you add is yourself, and mark your login as a Supervisor. Then you can add other users and decide how to restrict their access as desired.

Jester Is this offer for CYA 2.10 or the 3.0 version mention on the website? Is the update from 2.10 to 3.0 free? When is 3.0 available for download?
Sep 27 2016 at 8:53am Copy Link
CYA Software, Inc. Albert Jester, This offer is for CYA 2.10. The 3.0 version is scheduled to be released by the end of the year, and the details of the upgrade path will be determined at that time. We hope to accommodate those who have purchased recently, but the exact details are not available at this moment. There may be an interim release before 3.0 to make certain that all users are ready for the 3.0 update, and we are working on the best solution to continue forward.

Jon User Based on the statement you sent only after payment is made I think you should be letting potential buyers know that they won't get the software until 12 hours after they submit payment which is very much unlike the regular vendors we purchase from here at BDJ.

Note with receipt: "Please note that for this promotion the vendor has chosen to send the registration information manually. Please expect a delay of up to 12 hours until you receive the registration information by email."

If you take payment immediately the license should be an instantaneous reply. This isn't 1995 anymore.

CYA Software, Inc. By the way, the download let's you experience the software for 30 days. That should be sufficient to evaluate it, plus you still have 12+ hours to purchase CYA at 60% off.

Gonzo I was just reviewing this offer and realized there was this line:
'Run Your Own Inventory Service' - Business Edition ($1000)
I looked at your website, and also ran a couple of google searches, but came empty handed.
Can you elaborate as to what it is?
