Stefan Weber I may to confirm, that Draw Plus X5 is an excellent Software.

But my experience with X5 Software is, that the Version X6 wait in front of the Door. On another Deal I bought a License of PagePlus X5 (another excellent Software!) and some weeks later I got informed about the X6 Version is THE VERSION, now. In all eMails, Serif doesn't offer any upgrade to the new version. After discuss the update situation with the nice SalesLady by Phone, I got a 9 Pound Discount offer for the new Version from the regulary price.

This experience makes interesting the Question, how far is the Version X6 for Draw Plus? Don't understand me wrong, the current Version is an absolutely good Version. But who wants to buy the Version X5 when a not really upgradeable Version wait in just a few weeks?

Thanks for answer and best regards ...

Tore Hoyem DrawPlus looks like a good replacement for Xara (whatever-they-call-it-now), as it seems to have some features I've been missing in Xara since their initial release (Dynamic snapping, for one).

I also stopped upgrading Xara when they introduced DRM.

But before I make the jump, can you:

1) answer Stefan's question, i.e. is X6 close to release, and will there be an upgrade discount?

2) confirm that DrwPlus does not contain DRM? Or if it does, explain what type.

Cheers.

Serif Hi all,
Firstly Adrian, thanks for your comment. This is indeed an excellent deal exclusive to Bits Du Jour.

Calu- There are free versions of this kind of software out there, but they do not offer the variety of features or content in DrawPlusX5 and the tools available in free versions are usually very basic and not as powerful. Below is a link to an independent review of DrawPlusX5 where you can look at product comparisons by price and content. As you can see with the additional 50% discount offered on this promotion DrawPlusX5 is even better value!

http://drawing-software-r...views.com/

Stefan- You’ll be glad to hear that DrawPlusX6 isn’t going to be released until next year. And when it is released any users of the X5 version usually receive a generous discount on the upgrade price as long as they’re registered in Serif.com.

Tore- I have already answered your first question in response to Stefan and the answer to your second query is ‘no’, DrawPlusX5 does not contain DRM.

Hope this information helps. Just make sure you decide before the offer expires!

Stephen Kunkel DrawPlus as been my go-to graphics app for years. I highly recommend taking advantage of this, if you have interest. I've never seen a 50% discount for the latest version before. Stable app, responsive forums. Good stuff.

Bob User After reading the positive reviews I went to the web site and DrawPlus does look excellent and I am considering. I also noticed though, there is a User Guide available for $19.99 US. Is there not a user guide furnished in electronic format of some kind when purchased? Whether during the BDJ offer or at full price. If so, what are the differences in the two?

Serif Hi Bob,

Thanks for your question. There is a user guide in electronic format built into the software- we offer the physical user guide on our website because some customers prefer it, but the content is essentially the same.

With most of our software you can also access online tutorials or make use of the inbuilt 'how to' tab through the software, ideal for beginners or more experienced users with its amazing step-by-step guides.

Hope this helps!

Tore Hoyem DrawPlus X5 looks like it's all I hoped for, so far.

A question:
I seem to recall a review of X5 mentioning a substantial clip art library being included.
Is this available as a separate download, or is it something that's only included in a DVD version?

Serif Hi Tore,

The content in the Gallery as far as I know will be the same for this download version. It can be accessed through the studios Gallery tab on the right hand side of the interface. From the drop down menu you can access all the images available under the themes provided. And it is, as you mentioned, a 'substantial library' :o)

Hope you enjoy the software!

Brian H Hi- Sorry if this question seems repetitive; but I have the same question as Tore (above). Can the Serif rep please confirm that everything in this download version (clip art, graphics ... ) is the same as if the actual CD or DVD version of the program one could purchase from a retailer? Software looks fantastic, in terms of features and value! I just want to make sure I am getting *everything* there is in retail package in this download package, as well. Thanks! :-) -Brian

Tore Hoyem Hi Brian.

I can confirm that there was a lot more clip art included than I initially discovered. I assume we get all there is.

Cheers.

P.S. I used this software for quite some time, YEARS ago...
I remember it being quite good.
That is why I bought X4 when I saw it for sale.

Nick Katz I've had the DVD version of this for several months and it is very good. I particularly like some of the animation features. I upgraded from a much older one. When they come out with a new version of something, if you are signed up for Serif emails, they always have some kind of discount offer sometimes throwing in a printed manual and even without that they normally have a discount for upgrading. I can't remember exactly when this version came out, but it seems a little early for Version 6.

Ricky Rick Draw Plus X5 is a "Legacy" product. I have Draw Plus X8 for way over a year.

Serif has new products that fall under the name of "Affinity". Affinity Photo,
Affinity Designer (I have both) and they now have a beta version out of Affinity Publisher.

Click on the website link above for proof.

I wouldn't spend $99 on a program that's no longer supported.
