RapidJolt @K. Christop: Hi, there! Nice to see you too :) Some of FW features can only be executed within Windows environment variable. Therefore, FW cannot be portable (installed on USB-stick). Sorry about this.

@govertz: Currently FW does not have the feature, sorry. I have asked our developers to learn the possibility to add this feature in the FW next release. They are looking at it at the moment. No exact ETA at the moment though.

I searched for a way round this issue for you and found this WP plugin (Auto Post Images) that adds images to posts automatically each time you post an article to WP. But the plugin hasn't been updated for more than 2 years. So, I wouldn't recommend using it. I wish I could be more helpful for you.

Ela S. Pros:
Like the clean white and simle interface, and all those special features like Word Prediction, Sentence Starter and Plagiarism Checker.

Would be nice to get in work in other languages than English as well.

Which file formats can be used (eg export to Word?)

Cons:
What I don't like at all is this limitation:

"You have to deactivate Foo Writer in your first machine before you can use it in your other machine."

I am sure most of users do run a notebook and tablet at least, and store their docs in a cloud. This would not be convenient at all.

For this price, make it work as a license per user - and I certainly will follow Foo Writer up.

Thank you.

RapidJolt Hi Ela S, thank you for your kind words and feedback, much appreciated. I have logged your inputs in with our developers to see how we can improve FW in the next release.

As for file format, when you export file from FW, it will be in .txt. This is so that the output document is web-friendly and has excellent compatibility. You can learn more about it in http://www.rapidjolt.com/...tutorials/ (please see Export As Plain Text & Export As Formatted Text)

Again, thank you for your feedback.

_*_ @Ela S. The Bits Fine Print reads...

"Each license allows installation on all owned computers, but Foo Writer may not be used at exactly the same time on each of them."

Appears it is allowed to install FW on all your computers for personal use. I am sure RapidJolt will clarify.

bvssunnydale Hi, can the background colors be changed (my ereaders are spoiling me and I've been looking for writing software that allows a soft green background). Thanks.

RapidJolt @-*-: Yes, that's correct. You can install FW in as many machines that you own. However, only one concurrent user is allowed. This is simply to prevent sharing of license. Thank you.

@bvssunnydale: Currently there is no option to change the background color of FW, sorry about this. Thank you for posting your question.

Ela S. Thanks _*_ and RapidJolt for your replies.

My point is: When travelling to an area with no internet coverage, how can I switch between the machines rsp how to de-/activate Foo Writer?

Using Word, Scrivener, Writing Outliner etc, there is not such a problem.

RapidJolt Hi Ela S, thanks for coming back. I personally can understand your concern. Unfortunately, at least for now, that is how our licensing system works. It requires online activation as mentioned in the fine print.

One possible solution I can think of to solve this issue is by activating your license on the new machine before going on travel. I know that this is not the solution you're looking for but that's the only solution currently available with our system. I wish I can be more helpful for you.

Edward Smith I would have purchased this software except for the activate/deactivate game that must be played. While the developer has the right to require whatever they feel necessary to protect their product, they must also understand that they will lose some users too. I would never purchase a program that I must deactivate on one system before using it on another system. Per the developers web site:

"You have to deactivate Foo Writer in your first machine before you can use it in your other machine (App Menu – Deactivate License). Once you do, click the Activate License button (App Menu – Activate License) in your second machine and enter your license key there if you haven’t done so. This deactivation process does not uninstall Foo Writer in your first machine. It only tells our system that you’d like to use it in other machine. The deactivation process also does not remove your license. You only need to enter your license key in a machine once. To use it in your first machine again, simply deactivate Foo Writer in your second machine and reactivate it in your first machine."

RapidJolt Hi, thanks for your feedback. Feedback such as this is invaluable for us. Sorry to hear that the way our licensing system works doesn't suit your need. We obviously cannot please everyone but we do take note of your input. Let's see what we can do to improve our software in the future. Thanks again.

_*_ If this is the way the DRM works in Foo Writer; I too would not use the software, as it would be too restrictive for my liking.

Thanks for listening, and taking your users needs in how you handle the DRM in the future.
