Andreas Phostersoft Hi, for cloud deployment there will only be one inventory which is in the cloud. Its like Gmail where everything will be stored in the cloud and you access it through your browser. However if you only have one branch and do not need the online store, Gazelle can also be installed locally on your computer (without the cloud). Hope that helps

Alexander Deliyannis If I opt for cloud deployment, is there the option for a local copy of the data, e.g. llike IMAP for Gmail? I can think of several instances where the POS will be temporarily offline, i.e. I am enquiring for a charity which participates in exhibitions etc

Andreas Phostersoft Hi Alexander, unfortunately we have not supported offline feature. we do have some requests for this and will probably implement it in the future. However due to long to-do list and feature requests that we currently have, we can't give any date commitment for this.

Alexander Deliyannis Thanks for the quick reply; alternatively, is it possible to keep Gazelle files in a Dropbox folder --assuming that it will never be accessed concurrently by more than one PC?

Andreas Phostersoft Hi Alexander, hm interesting idea but we're not sure whether it will work right away. By the way Gazelle is also available as local installations on Windows, Mac, Linux. If your use case is only for one off event, we suggest the following.
1. Before exhibition, install a local Gazelle on the computer you are going to bring to the exhibition.
2. Backup data from cloud Gazelle and restore it on that local Gazelle.
3. Use that local Gazelle in the exhibition, this will work even without any Internet connection.
4. After the exhibition ends, manually transfer exhibition's data from the local Gazelle to the cloud Gazelle.
The not-so-nice part is the step 4 which is still manual. However, if the exhibition is a one-off event, then this would be a workable solution.

Alexander Deliyannis Thanks, depending on the scale of the event (4) may be doable or not. However, it seems to defeat the purpose of entering the data in a specialised program.

A possible alternative: keeping the exhibition transactions in an Excel file. Is it possible for Gazelle to bulk import transaction in CSV or other format?

Andreas Phostersoft Yes, we understand that. We have received other use cases that require offline support and we do acknowledge the need for this. We do support importing CSVs for inventories, customers etc for migration but not transactions yet.

Gail User Hello Andreas, we have been using Gazelle Point of Sale for quite a few years now and love the program! I have had a few questions that I posted a ticket to Phostersoft for back in January but still have not had a reply!! Is there a problem with customer support at the moment?
