Backing up your work is great - we really recommend it. But if your hard disk fails, you're still probably going to spend days reinstalling Windows and reinstalling and reconfiguring all your software. This is assuming, of course, that you had the foresight to backup all of your installation files and registration information.

A much easier way to protect yourself against hard disk failure is to image your hard disk. This process let's you take what is essentially a snapshot of your hard disk, and then restore that image to any hard drive with sufficient storage space.

For a critical process like this, you want the best software available. And fortunately, we've got it.

Folks, your Image for Windows purchase includes a cool companion application: OSD Tool Suite Professional! It contains a powerful script for modifying a windows installation that was restored to different hardware. It allows you to clean out the old drivers and install any necessary storage drivers so that they boot on the new hardware -- including physical to virtual and virtual to physical!

Not only will Image for Windows protect you against hard disk failure (and your hard disk is the part of your PC most likely to fail), having a disk imaging program also lets you replace your hard disk with a bigger, or faster, one, without reinstalling and reconfiguring everything.

Oh wait, there's more! An Image for Windows license includes full licenses for Image for DOS, Image for Linux, and a full license to use the OSD Tool Suite!

Mario Demi Now is version 2.91 is a upgrade to version 3 free?

TeraByte Minor .x updates are free. Major X. upgrades have a cost and typically a grace period based on time. However, there is no V3 in the works currently. We plan on going to 2.100 if it goes beyond .99.

Hawkeye First of all, I have no affiliation of any kind with Tereabyte with the exception that I am a very satisfied user of their products and have been for a few years now. Their Support team is top notch and respond to issues, almost immediately, using their forums. Updates come out frequently when new features are added or when issues need to be fixed. I can only wish other companies provided the same type of support as Terabyte. When I initially bought the bundle, I was kind of hesitant because their prices were a lot cheaper than some of their competitors, which I regretfully purchased. I haven't looked back. I have used earlier versions of Ghost, Acronis, Shadow Protect along with the highly rated freeware versions of others, and hands down, Image for Windows is the best.

Image for Windows is a rock solid backup program that can validate the image, immediately after the backup or on demand. You can control the entire backup and validation process through the UI or through scripting. You will be hard pressed to find anything that can perform the backups faster or more reliable than Image for Windows. I can personally attest to, that with all the backups and restoral processes, I have never had a failure, not even once. Personally, I am a fan of offline backups. It includes scripts to easily build a WinPE or WinRE for offline backups, if you have the MS WAIK or ADK installed. You can also create an assortment of other boot DVD/CD's and/or flash drives, using DOS or Linux.

If you have a dual or multiple boot system, you may want to look at BootitBM, Bare Metal as well. It will allow you to install more than four operating systems on the same hard drive, by using their EMBR drive type. By settings your drive to EMBR, you can easily hide selective partitions for any of the boot scenarios from the boot menu option. When using Bootit with IFW together, you can also do full offline backups and restoral's of any hidden OS partitions that Windows can't even access or see, while running under another OS. Switching a drive to EMBR is done at installation or later from a menu option. All the drive maintenance options, create, delete, format, resize, slide, copy partitions, including easily adding large, 3 or 4 TB GPT drives are available from the Partition Works menu. Note the GPT drives are for storage only and are non bootable. You can also select to have the drives/partitions properly aligned automatically, when creating or restoring. Be very careful when using any other 3rd party disk utilities as the hidden partitions will appear as non allocated spaces to them, since they can't read the EMBR information, which is normal.

Today's cost for IFW is a great bargain at $19.47. The entire bundle is already heavily discounted at only $49.98, which includes IFW, BootitBM and more, which is even a better bargain, if you need the additional software. Check out the links below for additional information.

Sorry, for the length of this but I can't say enough good things about Tearbyte's Image for Windows and BootitBM. If you want peace of mind that your data is safe and will restore, when needed, look no further.

Gerard Booth Is it possible to have the discount code to enter into one of your other resellers payments sites. The one used here does not remove the VAT element when a valid VAT No: is entered

Software Guy The licensing information for home/noncommercial use does not seem to be covered in the fine print tab above but I found it on the Terabyte site: Personal or Home Use Bonus: Each single license purchased for non-business-use covers up to three computers. The link to the license info is: http://www.terabyteunlimi...ndows.html

polka dujarin Nice soft but you need to be a pro to work with it! and qwerty only (in IFD or in bootit bare metal) But a minimum of bugs and it is not a bloatware!

TeraByte Not sure how to reply to individual replies...

For VAT issues you'd want to check with BitsDuJour and how they work that out with the reseller.

Yes compatible with Windows 8 (includes 8.1)

It's easy to use itself (especially simple mode), but AWERTY support in IFD would take some tech knowledge to patch the KBMAPIT.ZIP from the ftp site. While it could be used for IFD , it couldn't be used with BIBM until BIBM was KBMAPIT aware to remove the resident code when booting an OS.

Gerard Booth Thanks for the reply TeraByte, The VAT issue was sorted when purchasing via Paypal. The reseller gives the option to enter a valid VAT id at the end of the process and VAT is deducted.

Mario Demi Is it possible to change the language of the boot stick (cd)
Aug 17 2014 at 9:24am Copy Link
TeraByte Alternate language files for IFW is at http://www.terabyteunlimi...indows.htm

For IFD/IFL the .exe is available when you log in to https://www.terabyteunlim...wnload.php

For IFW. you just put the .dll in the same folder as the .exe

For IFD, you can just build with makedisk.

For IFL this gives instructions to create the alternate version boot disk: http://www.terabyteunlimi...php?id=545

Sandra Chung I've tried twice to purchase this deal, and both times I've gotten this error:

Dear Customer,

We were unable to verify that the information you entered on the order form is valid.

If you have not received notification within 24 hours, please contact our customer service department for assistance.

For reference, your order id is (different number each time)

I've tried different credit cards, yes, I typed in information in correctly, yes, there is more than enough on the credit limit.

yes, I did follow link to customer service, and got a reply but the site had nothing to do with this purchase.

Sandra Chung I did contact them. I got an email back from them, and I already tried using different payment methods, including Paypal. Same error each time. And they told me to contact YOU. Now you're telling me to contact them again here, and in an email to contact BitsDuJour. :( I feel like I'm getting run around, and there's only 2 hrs left!

TeraByte BitsDuJour can work with you to get the discount or we can directly. But through MyCommerce, they need to let your know of the issue with your order. We have no control over it, they would refer you to the developer for technical support, not order support.

We can look in their system for orders - your name doesn't come up at all and looking at all order status shows are all complete (none failed). Check that you're at the correct site and not being redirected.
