There's a certain limit to the number of digital photos that you can have before your collection starts to become unwieldy. You'd like to keep track of photos containing specific people, but what do you do when a picture has more than one person in it? Make duplicates, and put them in separate folders?

Imago fixes the ongoing problem of keeping track of information in digital photos! With Imago, you can add information to any photo and, more importantly, you can add information about anyone in that photo. All of the information that you've added about a person appears when you hover your mouse cursor over their face in a photo. Even better, with Imago, you can search for all photos that contain a specific person!

The best part about Imago? The information that you add to each photo becomes a part of the digital photo file! This means that you can email a photo to your family, and when they add the photo to their copy of Imago, all of the information is already there!

You can import your images into Imago directly from your digital camera, or, for your older photo collections, by using a scanner. Either way, you're well on the path to a well-organized, fully catalogued digital image collection!

Bob S Hi, there aren't any screenshots on your website, so can you explain how images are tagged? e.g.,
1. Is tagging done automatically, using image recognition?
2. Can one create and then select from a list of previously created tags (vs. typing in an open-ended tag, which leads to inconsistencies)?
3. Can one tag a group of images simultaneously (for example, all photos taken in May 2009)?

Additional explanation and screenshots of the tagging options and process would be very helpful. I tried to organize 1000+ family photos last year - used iMatch. Fairly efficient, but very time consuming and considerable room for improvement, so I'm looking forward to learning more about your solution.

Bob S From the screenshots provided, it looks as though all the tagging is done manually. Is that correct? If so, this looks like a very tedious, time-consuming process. I'm looking for a solution that allows me to tag quickly, consistently, and flexibly (e.g., not just by person, but object, time, place, occasion, etc.).

Mark Andrews Images aren't "tagged" in the sense I believe you mean. You identify people or objects in a photo or image using a bounded area (circle or polygon) and then enter data about that person or object. From that point on, all you have to do is identify that person in other images and link them to the previously entered data.

Facial recognition is on the horizon, but I want the accuracy to increase before including it.

I'm open to suggestions on furthering the product for other uses, so let me know what you need it to do.
