Well, it's the 21st century, and along with flying cars, teleportation, and telekinesis, the other vision of the future that never came true was the paperless office. Today, we use more paper than ever before, and despite our best efforts to recycle, sometimes the best strategy is just to print fewer pages! Guess what? That's exactly what iPrint helps you to do!

iPrint actually reduces the amount of paper that you use, sometimes by up to 60%! How is this possible? iPrint looks at each of your print jobs and automatically detects and removes pages with no content. You can even collect multiple print jobs from different applications into a single iPrint session, and have iPrint process all of them in a single pass. If you're really militant about saving paper, you can even use iPrint to print two to four pages of your print job on a single sheet of paper. Best of all, you can track your progress and feel good about saving the planet, because iPrint tracks and reports your usage!

Ever print out a map or recipe, only to find that the only thing on your second page is a banner ad or website footer? Frustrating! With iPrint, you can manually select pages like this and remove them!

Thanks to iPrint's amazingly intuitive interface, you'll do your part to conserve paper and help the environment without even breaking a sweat!

Frank Stephens I installed this on Vista. I have other virtual printers, it incorrectly used the port assigned to another printer, and caused some undesirable changes to other printer configurations. Doesn't work at all, UI doesn't come up, spools a document which can't be printed, online Help is for another application, searching yielded some useless stuff for iPrint. No useful configuration options. I absolutely hate screwed-up installers. Many people have virtual printers, multiple physical printers, etc. There are several other alternatives to this (ClickBook, FinePrint, GreenPrint, etc.), I wanted to see how this compared. I have my answer.

Frank Stephens Just letting everyone know that Mike Stokes provided a simple workaround for the installation problem until they can fix it. I'm impressed with the features, ease-of-use, and performance of iPrint. I provided feedback on some minor UI issues, I'm sure Inzone will fix them. There are more things which I need to test, but so far, compared to the alternatives, this appears to be a very good deal for what it does. It's very quick, and has a very responsive UI (apart from a few minor issues). iPrint leaves duplexing up to your printer preferences, if supported. GreenPrint is hopelessly slow, ClickBook and FinePrint have many more features but are pricey, and I doubt that they're as quick and easy to use as iPrint. I have used ClickBook in the past (its market is a bit different, but it can perform these functions manually); I haven't tried FinePrint (pricey for my purposes). Mike also noted the following: "64-bit versions of iPrint will be available in the week starting 24-August-2009 and will be a free upgrade for all existing version 6.x users."

Peter pereh I seem to have an installation problem, too. I installed the software, the printer is visible, but iPrint doesn't start.
I followed the tutorial 'Getting started' (which actually reads 'Getting Stated' b.t.w.), but nothing happens. When I click on 'iPrint' to start it directly, also nothing happens.
System: Win XP Home SP2, Intel Dual Core.

Peter pereh OK, a little notice that a restart is needed would be fine.

Mike Stokes Hi Peter - only ocassionally a restart is needed and the installer should have told you that so we'll have to look into the issue... Agreed, if a restart is needed (10% of the time) then it should definitely tell you. Sorry for the trouble.

Adrian Williams Iprint installed fine for me and I've a couple of comments to add. I network a few pcs and wanted to see if iprint would be an extremely low-cost alternative to fineprint server edition. Installation of the iprint printer on the 2nd PC was a breeze (add printer option in windows) and it worked fine, apart from the iprint window appears on the pc hosting the software rather than where I'm sitting (ie at the 2nd PC).It's not a major problem, rather an inconvenience, since I still have to go to the printer! The jobs just sit in the queue until I choose which pages to add.

So - is it an alternative to fineprint - well, yes, I think it is.
One more 'nice to have' would be the ability to save the print jobs, just like fine print does. In that way, i can retrieve them to re print or save as pdf.

This software, together with free pdf printer driver like pdfcreator from pdfforge.org is an excellet alternative to pdf factory.
All this for less than a tenner (UK pounds). Highly recommended.

John Smith Hi
This is a nice tool, I regret that it doesnt have an icon placed on the pc so for less pc technicians it would have been easier to reach to all iprints options. So how to register iprint after having the licence key, where to add it!

Frank Stephens John Smith, iPrint shows up in your list of installed printers, although it's true that the UI only shows up when you print something to it. That doesn't bother me, you don't have to physically print something you printed to it just to open the UI for registration. You can register from either Help or About in the upper-right of the UI. The developer's time zone is obviously different from ours.

Pete Magnum OK Adrian, as polite as I can be about it, let me see if I have this correct. You bought iPrint at a substantially cut rate price of about $11. The price really is $29 elsewhere. You apparently liked it well enough because you downloaded it again from GiveawayOfTheDay for free at some point after your purchase. And then, to make absolutely certain that you spent not one penny, that the program cost you nothing, you claimed a refund on the basis of a money back guarantee designed to insure people who tried the program and were dissatisfied. Tell me again how you fell into that category. Seems that you were more than satisfied, given that you were broadcasting the program's participation in GOTD.

Sure, if you had known it was coming up you would have waited. But you still could have asked the iPrint folks for a refund with the GOTD reason and not fraudulently claimed it the way you did. And even so, was $11 that big a deal? You think iPrint's developer lives like Bill Gates; Inzone-Software's place is covered with marble tile & gilded lilies? Look at the service you and other folks got that's posted here. Your $11 isn't worth that? You could still give it back.

A lot of us on GOTD actually buy the software we try from the companies that put it up if we like it. We try to support the developers who make good stuff. You pay hundreds to Microsoft for some of the buggiest software, and they DO work on marble tile (well, some of them anyway).
