It is a subject that feels a bit dangerous and it seems to be a gamble. I used Kango root and it seemed to be working fine, said my device were rooted but then it wasnt.

Ken User Wow, their website DOES state your device must be rooted. I can't believe they don't state that here. That's a major requirement to omit. I am responsible for managing over 400 Android devices for my company and have many Androids at home. I would NEVER root a device of mine. Some people do but some people don't have anitvirus on their PC.

I think someones said need root must confused this product with
iPubsoft Android Data Recovery. Yes, to recovery deleted sms or contact with
iPubsoft Android Data Recovery you need to root your phone.
But this product, iPubsoft Android Desktop Manager does not need to root.

However I'm not sure how it qualifies as Kies' backs up just about everything you mention.
Can you elaborate more about what makes 'iPubsoft Android Desktop Manager' a more effective tool for backing up phones and tablets than Kies?

None of the free Androis managers I know requires internet connection.

OK, that's a point for you..

Today I've tested the trial. But it doesn't even copy image files to the desktop PC. And I can't even enlarge the program window like a very old Win 98 program.

Ronald Jurman Installed demo.

Tested with Samsung. Found apps, music, contacts, files. Sees photos (count from My Android) but not on Photo tab. Cannot seem to find books (PDF, mobi, Kindle).

Tested with Kindle. Finds apps and files. Acknowledges music (as counted in tree list), but not selectable. Doesn't find books (PDF, mobi, Kindle).

Everything seems tied to Google Play.

Ronald Jurman One more important note/question:

Most categories (Music, photo, etc.) include export (phone-> PC) and import (PC->phone). Category Apps does not, only Add App and Uninstall. How does one backup (and restore) apps from the phone to (and from) a PC?

I downloaded the Trial but I cannot find how I can actually make backups of the apps ? I seems like the software are only displaying the apps so I can delete them form the phone or install new apps.

Please explain how I actually save/backup everything on my PC
