Vendor for Jaksta Media Recorder for Windows Hi -

Thanks so much for your question. The promotion is for 45% off the Standard edition - which retails for $39.95 normally. If you are interested in the Plus edition you can use the same coupon to get $18 off the $49.95 price - reducing the price of the Plus Edition to $31.95.

Enjoy.

Michael R. Having bought Jaksta some time ago, I have to say, I'm quite happy having bought it and using it quite often. (It also captures streams a similar looking recorder promoted here did not...)

What I'm missing is a possiblity to redefine the priority of a certain download-task in the list of not yet downloaded streams/files:

Let's say I already have 10 files/streams I want to donwload. Because my bandwith is not unlimited e.g. 3 streams are downloaded immediately, the others are kept in a list. Each time a new stream is found, it is set on the end of the list and automatically gets the lowest priority, i.e. all the files/streams before have a higher one.

Sometimes you want a new found stream to be downloaded as soon as possible. Main reason is, that a stream-content, in opposition to a file, will be lost until download starts.

So it would be very good, if I could define for a certain stream, that it will get top-priority, i.e. will be downloaded as very next.

In this context, it would be perfect, if streaming content could be defined as getting general priority over file content as an optional setting. Also a pause button of currently downloading files would be very useful: This would free some bandwidth-capacity and so a top-priority new stream could be downloaded immediately, while the remaining download of the paused file would be postponed until all other files/streams are downloading and there is free bandwidth-capacity again.

[Currently, staying at the example above, I would have to abort all the 7 download-tasks to get my highly wanted task to the top of the priority list and also abort a currently downloading file to make some bandwith free for my new stream. Afterwards I have to define the aborted tasks as still wanted (F5)]

Is there any change a mechanism like above is implented in the next future?

Thanks a lot...

Vendor for Jaksta Media Recorder for Windows Hi Michael - Thanks so much for purchasing Jaksta a while back. And so glad you like it. And thanks for the question. I am going to pass it along to the development/support team. Can you write me directly at news-jakstaapplian.com so I can give them your email address and so they can get back to you directly? Yours is really a product development question for future versions rather than a question relating to this current version or this promotion. I hope you understand. Thanks again for your support and enthusiasm for the prrogram. Best :)

Brian H Hi- this looks like a very good program at a nice price- but I am confused by one statement in the "Policy" tab- "You must install/register the software while the promotion is active, and cannot do so afterwards." As someone who will be building or purchasing a new desktop PC in the near future; it is unlikely I would want to install and "activate" this product on my current PC- would rather wait and put in on my new (permanent) system. If I purchase during the deal day, would I be allowed to wait to install and activate the product when I finally have my new PC; or is there some reason you want the software only installed and activated during the 24 hour deal/sale period? Please let me know, when you have a moment. Thanks. -Brian

PJ Harr Is this the same as &/or similar to either Replay Media Catcher or WM Recorder? If not, how does this product differ? -- Thanks.

Vendor for Jaksta Media Recorder for Windows Hi Brian -
Thank you for your comment. Great catch! That was a mistake on my part. We will fix that. No you don't need to install and register the product during the promotion. Thanks for finding that.

Vendor for Jaksta Media Recorder for Windows Hi P3 Harr -

Replay Media Catcher and Jaksta were designed by the same developer and the programs are the very similar - although as a person commented above in his experience Jaksta captures streams that Replay Media Catcher does not. The differences are also in the products they are bundled with. And the upgrade opportunities available. Jaksta is part of the Jaksta line of software which includes different Window and Mac recording tools. Replay Media Catcher is part of the Replay Capture Suite.

WM Recorder was developed by a different developer. While it is a stream recorder it functions differently than Jaksta and Replay Media Catcher. And offers different conversion options.

We always recommend that a customer download our trials and use the programs to see if they work for them, with the sites they are interested in capturing.

I hope you will do that.
And thanks for your question.

K X I like Jaksta, Replay Media Catcher, and WM Recorder a lot. I would prefer to have one program that does it all, but each of these programs can record shows that the others don't. I try each one for a given stream and see which works best. I have most of Applian's other programs as well, individually and as suites, and have bought multiple copies of some of the programs for different computers and to give as gifts.

If you buy a single program from them or a suite, you can get good deals on buying extra copies for yourself or as gifts any time. They will also run bigger sales from time to time (get on their email list). Upgrade prices have been very fair and discounted. Tech support has been responsive also.

M M What happens if during a scheduled download of a streaming video (local news channel) the connection is broken temporary (it happens sometimes)?
Will it resume downloading? If so, will it produce 2 files, or just one with a break in recording?
It's impossible to test within 1-minute limit of the demo.

Harald Vogel Hello,

I'm a registered ReplayMediaCatcher 4 user and so far thought it is the same product as Jaksta. Can you tell me more what the differences are? Also when I got to your upgrade page and enter my ReplayMediaCatcher registration key you identy my name and it says "You qualify for this great upgrade deals" but showing nothing. Can you tell me if I would qualify for an upgrade from ReplayMediaCatcher to Jaksta? Thanks.

Brian H +1 for coupon code *not* working for "plus" version, or additional licenses. :-( Very frustrating for consumers who want to support vendors with great products to offer. But you all are not making it easy ... :-( -Brian

PJ Harr Tried to purchase the Jaksta PLUS version as well with the coupon code (JAK46%OFFYAY) hoping that it might be working, but no luck.
I ended up purchasing the standard version with with hopes that a small fee will allow me to upgrade to the PLUS version.

J S To the "Vendor for Jaksta Media Recorder for Windows":

With about 0.5 hours to go before the deal expired I tried to buy the PLUS version and had no joy - although the standard version links & discount was working, the same could not be said for the PLUS version.

After having some lunch and doing some other work, and even though it is now 2hours 20minutes since the deal expired, I thought it best to post a comment here and then I'll send you a detailed email containing the full details and screenshots in the hope of successfully completing a purchase.

(I do not want to disclose purchase codes and URL's here for the public to see). I did try to use the Regnow links but they didn't have anywhere for the coupon to be inserted.

Vendor for Jaksta Media Recorder for Windows Hi - We have run promotions on the Mac versions in the past - but we aren't planning any in the future. We do occasionally have coupons and specials - you would see those if you friended Jaksta on Facebook. I always post the links to our newsletters there - the newsletters include our coupons and offers.

Thanks for asking,

Eric Tischler Is this offer still good at 39.95? I follow the buttons to purchase and it wants to charge me 49.95.

Constantin Florea The $39.95 price was the regular price we've shown during the last promotion. It seems the regular price of the product was increased to $49.95 and we missed updating it after the increase took place. The $49.95 regular price is now updated at the top.
