What are people saying about Key Manager, 2 License Pack

Michael R. Good idea to allow the definition of keys.

Here some questions about your program:

1) Is it possible to let the action start after two specific key-combinations are pressed?
E.g. let's say CTRL-M and after releasing the keys if key 'a' is pressed: Call abc.exe, if key 'm' is pressed execute 'mxy.exe', if another key is pressed create an error-beep.

2) Can I redefine keys only in specific active applications. Let's say a program has key L and SHIFT-L defined in a specific way, would it be possible to revert the behaviour, i.e. if inside this application if the user presses L the program should think he had pressed SHIFT-L (and vice vera)? (As said, this should only be restricted to a specific program. For all other applications L and SHIFT-L should not be reverted of course.)

ATNSOFT 1) Yes, it is possible. Please use the "Second press:" field. Also, you can use the popup menu actions with hotkeys. To set hotkeys to menu items, use the & sign before the necessary character in the names of nested menu actions. Example: Launch &mxy.exe ("m" will be a hotkey).

2) Yes, you can. Just create an exception for it. See demo video: http://atnsoft.com/keyman...mbination/

Retired Engineer VERY interested in your product, as I have some nerve and range-of-motion medical problems in my hands, wrists, and shoulders, making some hotkey combos "finger friendly" for me, and others not so.

LOVE your support of mouse/keyboard hotkey combos. Perfect for my medical problems!

Now, my question. Can I swap the shifted/unshifted characters for any one key? Some examples: 1) when I press the +/= key, I want the unshifted keystroke to produce +, and the shifted keystroke to produce =; 2) when I press the "/' key, I want the unshifted keystroke to produce ", and the shifted keystroke to produce '; finally, I would like to reverse the entire number/symbol row (top of keyboard), so that I won't have to press Shift when I want to produce !, @, #, ... and ).

I think Key Manager could be a great asset for people with medical problems like mine, and I think you should consider advertising it on ergonomics websites which offer "computer-assisted computer usage" devices.

A product well done! Looking forward to your reply.

Robert Bull This looks well thought-out, nice GUI for adding/editing hotkeys, and the series of how-to screenshots is particularly nice. But... how much functionality does it really offer over a good freeware hotkey manager like HotKeyz, http://www.skynergy.com/hotkeyz.html ?

ATNSOFT Q: Can I swap the shifted/unshifted characters for any one key? Some examples: 1) when I press the +/= key, I want the unshifted keystroke to produce +, and the shifted keystroke to produce =; 2) when I press the "/' key, I want the unshifted keystroke to produce ", and the shifted keystroke to produce '; finally, I would like to reverse the entire number/symbol row (top of keyboard), so that I won't have to press Shift when I want to produce !, @, #, ... and ).

A: Yes, you can create two profiles. One of them will contain shifted keystrokes (ex. 1 - Shift + 1) and you can switch between the profiles using a predefined key ("Key Manager control" action - "Select a specific profile").

Q: There are two ways to record a macro: 1)automated recording of user keyboard/mouse actions, followed by some editing; 2) by-hand entry of each macro step into Key Manager, because on-the-fly macro recording is not supported. Would you please clarify this for us?

A: On-the-fly macro recording is supported. Please enable the "Pass key presses to the system" mode (in the "Key sequence" action properties).

Q: In Key Manager (or Key Remapper?) can I define global keystroke definitions? For example, I want the little-used Scroll Lock key to produce a Ctl+C Copy everywhere (e.g. Desktop, Windows 7, popup menus, etc.).

A: Global definitions are used by default and work in all programs.

Q: Will Key Manager (or Key Remapper?) support macros consisting of mouse moves? Relative to screen? Relative to app window? Relative to app window pane?

A: This feature will be added in future versions of the program.

Q: This looks well thought-out, nice GUI for adding/editing hotkeys, and the series of how-to screenshots is particularly nice. But... how much functionality does it really offer over a good freeware hotkey manager like HotKeyz,

A: Flexible remapping of keys, mouse buttons, combinations, long and consecutive presses, as well as a possibility to assign various actions and popup menus.

Michael R. Thanks for the former pleasant answers.

Yet another question: Would it be possible somehow - perhaps with the help of a self-written program which would be called automatically - to let KM type, after a certain key-combination is pressed, a dynamic-text, e.g. 'cd c:\mydir\current year\current month\current day', i.e. if I press this key-combination today it would write 'cd c:\mydir\2012\09\02'? (This could perhaps be done by writing 'cd c:\mydir\", than execute a program, which would write 2012\09\02, and finally write '\n'...)

My first key-mapping was the try to execute two different commands, depending on the command-line-interpreter (cmd.exe and tcc.exe) with a certain key-combination (CTRL-K C).

But as it seems the first key-combination triggers all processes (cmd.exe, tcc.exe, notepad, ...) and the second, same combination is not used at all (and espeically not in tcc.exe as it should be). A bug?

[Here is what I did:

Because KM did not display my two opened command-processors (cmd and tcc) as launched applications - why? - I defined their exe-files as 'only'

The displayed entries looked like this:
[Only in Cmd] LCtrl+K, C -
Sequence:CLS
[Only in TCC.exe exe] LCtrl+K, C -
Sequence:CLSSpaceLShift7LShiftC

As said the 'only in'-restrictions did not apply... The first sequence was always triggered with Ctrl-K + c, not matter in what application the keys were pressed...]

Thanks a lot...

VLM Building upon the question from wraith 808 about a global prefix ... What I would like is the ability to create a hierarchy of shortcuts. The first entry (say, winkey-1) takes me to my first list of shortcuts. Some are actually shortcuts, others are pointers to the next level down. And so on. Meanwhile, at the top level, winkey-2 takes me to an entirely distinct, second list of shortcuts. And so on. So

winkey-1 == shortcut-group-1
a == shortcut a
b == shortcut b
q == shortcut-group-1q
winkey-2 == shortcut-group-2
and so on

in a hierarchy that resembles, in a sense at least, the kind of hierarchy Windows Explorer provides for folders and files. There are types of elements ... folders, files, archives, all organized in a hierarchy. What I'm suggesting here is a hierarchy of shortcuts, similarly organized, similarly presented (or presented via pull-right menus, or ...?)

Does this make sense?

And I REALLY wish you had not directed this topic away from the conversation here. That is the whole purpose of having conversations here, leading up to and on sale day.

A: You can use the following Text templates ("Insert text template" button - "Date or time"):
c:\mydir\%km_YYYY\%km_0M\%km_0D

Q: KM did not display my two opened command-processors (cmd and tcc) as launched applications - why?

A: At the present moment, the Exceptions do not work with 64 bit applications. We will try to resolve this issue in future versions.

ATNSOFT Q: What is the difference between Key Manager and Key Remapper? Is Remapper incorporated fairly completely into Manager?

A: Key Manager is a more functional version of Key Remapper. Key Manager has all the features of Key Remapper. The only difference is that Key Manager currently does not support remapping of modifier keys (Ctrl, Alt, Win etc).

Q: What is the difference between home and business licenses?

A: One home license grants you the right to use the software on one computer. You may not use this program in organizations.

One business license grants you the right to use the software on one computer. You may use this program in organizations.

If you need to use this program on multiple computers, you should purchase the corresponding number of licenses.

ATNSOFT Q: Are you saying, "Key Remapper = Key Manager + modifier keys?"

A: No, we meant that the ability to remap modifier keys (remap - means, for example: you can replace Win with "Middle mouse button" or Right Shift with Enter etc.) is the only advantage of Key Remapper.
Key Remapper is intended only for remapping keyboard keys and mouse buttons.

Key Manager, however, also allows you to remap combinations of keys and mouse buttons, long and consecutive presses. It also enables you to perform various actions (sequential presses and releases of several keys (keypress macro); paste/type text; launch any application or open a file or a folder; open a specific webpage etc.) and represent them as a popup menu.

Q: May I suggest such a view as an enhancement request?

A: Yes, we have already added this feature to our To-Do list. Thank you.

Bruno Verschraegen Is it also possible to change existing key shortcuts in Excel (2010)? Notably Ctrl+D. In IE Explorer Ctrl+D allows tzo save a favorite, in many other programmes is triggers the Delete function. But in Excel it autmatically copies the cell (or row if entire row selected) value to the cell/row just beneath. Problem is that nothing tells you that you did this and is easy to hit Ctrl+D inadvertently. Sometines because of the in-built habit to sue Ctrl+D a lot (for saving favorites during daily web research) but also because - at least on my keyboard - the D key sits right betweeen the S and F keys (Ctrl+S is Save and ctrl+F is Find, both being key combinations that one uses all the time while in Excel. Very easy to hit by mistake the wrong key (D) and have inadvertently overwritten a cell/row value with the value(s) above... I have been looking for a long time for some way to disactivate Ctrl+D in Excel or assing it to some other, less harmful task... This along for me would be worth the price of purchasing Key Manager.

Is there any printed documentation besides the screenshots and videos available?

Thanks!

VLM Q: All keys can be used? Winkey? Separate L/R alt keys?
A: Separate modifier keys (Alt, Ctrl, Shift, and Win) cannot be remapped.

Not sure I comprehend this response. Could you elaborate a bit?
___
Q: Also, can you say more about shortcuts within specific apps. Does this apply to most or all apps, or only to a specified list of supported apps?
A: You can apply it to running applications only. Please use "Exceptions" to do that (demo video: http://atnsoft.com/keyman...pastetext/).

In other words, once an application registers a shortcut, you can modify it? Does this mean that if I create shortcuts for application A, then close and relaunch application A, I have to start over?

Richard Tauriello Just discovered something the vendor should have mentioned: If you need 3 or more licenses, it seems that you can increase the quantity in the order form and still get the same large percentage discount. Disco79 Hey.

Some questions regarding the program Key Manager:

Can I perform the following upcoming and connect to any button / key combination / menu in any folder?

* Create a new "textdokumen" with the *. Txt (notepad)
* Name it with any name
* Save it.
* Insert the text that is in the clipboard (ctrl + v)
* Close and save the document

The program uses a lot of internal memory?

Could possibly program used / hacked from "outsiders" and read
of my mouse clicks to make my computer hurt?

Why is it that the program will cost $ 99.90 with 85% discount?
On your own website does the program cost $ 49.90. I'm just

A: Those comments are outdated. In the recent release, Key Manager v1.8 has gotten a possibility to remap Alt, Ctrl, Shift and Win modifier keys as standalone keys.

Q: Is it correct that this application (both key remapping applications) work at the level of Windows and not inside any particular applications? For example, one cannot remap shortcuts in MS Word or Firefox or the like, correct?

Coweko Alinac - Great find! And demonstrates that this can, in fact, be accomplished. From their web page, AnyMania Hotkey Commander may not support windows 8, though that would be rather difficult to imagine at this date.

QUESTION: Are applications (Firefox, Chrome, Word, etc.) required to register all their internal hotkeys with Windows OS? If not, then I can imagine it being difficult to get ALL the application-specific hotkeys. Just wondering, in case anyone knows.

Louis H @Wasahbe Greene...

I am not affiliated with the vendor, but I can respond that it is indeed possible to do what you are asking, IF you are willing to assign TWO different keys to the process. I was not able to figure out how to do it with one key.

Perhaps the vendor can explain how to do it, if it is possible, with one key, but i was able to set up two different keys - LAlt + G for Left Mouse Button pressed and LAlt + H for Left Mouse Button released. All it requires is that after you have set up the key with the mouse button action, you simply need to delete all other actions listed in the set up window, leaving only the action you want. In this case it would show Mouse Left Button under the "Key, mouse button or delay" heading and it will show "Pressed" - or - "Released" under the "State" heading.

I am willing to help you figure out how to set up whatever specific keys you want to use, if the above is not clear.

You can set it up to apply Everywhere or only for specific programs.

Hope that helps.

Louis H @ATNSOFT - thank you for the clarification.

@JL - it IS possible to do what you are asking IF you have a utility installed that can be called up to do the things you ask.

There are a number of free utilities out there - i.e., See Through Windows - Peek Through - Window-On-Top - PowerMenuSetup. Some work with well with Pre Win 7, some with Win 7, and there are newer utilities which work with Win 8.

(PowerMenuSetup is a wonderful little program that adds the kinds of things you are asking for as an extension to the regular Windows window menu. It does not, however, work well with 64 bit Win 7.)

You would have to install one or more of these utilities and then you could set up Key Manager to load and run the program as you needed it.

Most of the utilities I have mentioned - and perhaps others can refer you to other programs as well - already have their own hotkeys built in. The advantage that Key Manager offers, from my perspective, is you would not have to have these programs preloaded. You could also set up the utility for different scenarios and assign a different hotkey for each one.

Something else you might be interested in is AutoHotkey. It is a free utility that allows you to "define hotkeys for the mouse and keyboard, remap keys or buttons and autocorrect-like replacements." It is a very powerful utility, but it requires that you write your own scripts for the macros. It does have some commands built in that can allow you to write a script to accomplish what you are asking.

For me, however, Key Manager is a much more "user-friendly" program. All I need to do is choose a few options - hit the record key - and then step through what it is I want the hotkey to do.

I have been able to set it up to perform certain commands in Minecraft. (I play online with my grandchildren. I'm not sure who has more fun - them or me!) I am working on setting up a hotkey to start a media player and a specific playlist.

I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this program to anyone looking for an easy and comprehensive way to set up macros and automate their daily working in Windows.

Hope some of this is helpful to folks.

Louis H Here is how I see it, Michael....... Whomever set up the ad copy for BDJ, more than likely did not look at the order page and see that there was a discount for buying 2 or more copies. So they simply added two single copies at 49.95 each.

At worse you are losing $1.80 on the deal as it is written. That is the difference between 85% of single price for two copies and 85% of the vendors normal discount for buying two copies.

If we were talking $18 difference, well then I would probably have raised the question myself much earlier on. (I did see the same thing you saw.) And I am certainly not beyond calling either a vendor or BDJ on what I might consider questionable sales tactics, but I'm going with this being an honest "mistake" and not something consciously meant to have been deceptive.

As Paul Simon put it some decades ago...

D Taylor I tried to purchase the Key Manager business license for this software so that I could use it at home and at work. I provided my credit card information and submitted my order.

Later I get an email from PayPro Sales (maybe the credit card processor?) stating:

"In an effort to make online shopping safer for our customers, in some cases we have to verify your identity to be absolutely sure that you are the true credit card owner."
...
"To complete your order, please email us a scan copy of your picture ID and scan copy of your credit card (all numbers should be covered except the 4 digits). You can use your cell phone's camera and photo camera to take these pictures too."

What the heck? Isn't it the responsibility of my credit card company to determine if a charge is fraudulent or not? Why would anyone send a photo copy of the picture ID and credit card for a software purchase of less than $18?

This raises my suspicions as to whether this software vendor is trustworthy or not. I have never been asked to provide such information for an online purchase. Again, this order was less than $18. If they would have processed my order, my credit card company would have approved the charge and I would have probably walked away a happy customer.

I am now considering only making purchase on BitsDuJour where I can purchase using PayPal (not a reflection on BitsDuJour, I love BDJ). I regret that I provided my name, address & credit card # to this company. Again, why would they require a copy of my picture ID and credit card in order to make an $18 purchase. Needless to say, I will be closely monitoring my future credit card bills.

Unfortunately, you cannot use the Key Manager business license at home.

One home license grants you the right to install the program on one computer. With home license, you can use the program for non-commercial purposes in non-business, non commercial environment. That is, you only intend to use it at home for private use. If you need to use it on multiple computers, you should purchase the corresponding number of licenses.

One business license grants its owner (individual or company) the right to use (install) the program in a business, academic, or governmental environment on one computer. If you need to use it on multiple computers, you should purchase the corresponding number of licenses.

Gregg Holbert Does Key Manager show what keys have already been assigned shortcuts by other programs (and what that program name is?)

bvssunnydale I'm in tech support so licensing per cpu doesn't work well for me. (1) Is a portable version of this software offered, (2) I rely on a couple of other keyboard monitoring programs - "Shortkeys" and "ActiveWords" - would you know of any conflicts from running all three at once? (I've already disabled the ActiveWords "buffer" so that it doesn't cause problems with "Shortkeys" so want to make sure I'd have no problems with "ATNSOFT Key Manager"). Thanks very much for any advice you can provide.

Scott Youngman @ATNSOFT: Too bad -- mouse cursor motion is of relatively little value if it can't be combined with another action once it is in position.

Lack of ability to run different action types sequentially in a single macro is a major limitation for this software. Thanks for the Bits offer, but I'll regretfully pass on it.

VLM ATNSOFT - You have already said that Key Manager does not show what keys have already been assigned shortcuts by other programs. Does the program show global key assignments?

This is important, a because without such information, a user will have no idea what s/he may be destroying while assigning a shortcut to an action. With respect to both global and application-specific shortcuts, what mechanism does the program provide to help a user from shooting him/herself in the foot?

ATNSOFT @VLM: You can override global/Windows shortcuts, keys, mouse buttons, long presses (press and hold), and combinations (except Win+L, Ctrl+Shift+Esc and Alt+Ctrl+Del).
For example, you can assign to Win key the Key Manager action: System command > Sound > Volume Up, and increse the system volume by pressing Win key!
Or you can assign to Long press F12 the action: System command > Computer power management > Restart, and restart your computer.
Please see the following demo videos:

Amit Hello,
I am looking for certain functionality, which I have found very hard to do in some macro softwares, I have thought to buy. Please tell me if key manager can do these 2 features (the very important 2) -

1. Numpad1+f (or any other key as f), as TRIGGER - I mean, I want not 1 key press to be a trigger for a macro, but pressing numpad1, then releasing it then pressing f. (note that numpad1 not need to be hold pressed when pressing the f key). The f key is just an example of a key like others.
2. A key, like F4, when pressed in chrome sends ctrl+n, and in firefox does something else - say opens a new tab (by sending ctrl+t), BUT (very important that) this same key F4, does do its default action only in ALL other windows. When I made such a macro in other macro software, it did well in the 2 specified windows, chrome and firefox, but in all other windows it stopped the action I had assigned to F4 by autohotkey.

I need this functionality, really, so are these features doable in key manager presently, or if not then can they be added soon ? I will be buying if they can be done.

Thanks a lot.

Greg Z @ATNSOFT Thanks for getting back to me and I look forward to seeing that "whilst hotkey is held down" feature added in the hopefully near future. A 3PC license for the price is still outstanding value for something that's a lot easier for someone like me to use.

Once the ability to add holding to the hotkeys and commands are added plus perhaps simplified editing of the created sequence (not a big issue, just would be easier than add + deleting) it will be the best and easiest to use software for the price point I have used (other than freeware) or things that required me to write my own scripts which I don't have the ability or patience to do. Being able to map keyboard keys to a mouse is also great I'm finding already.

The reason why I hope you do follow up is as it seems you guys at ATNSOFT do (looking at the changes logs in the updates you make for your product) support and improve the products and as having bought the product already it's extremely close as I said to exactly what I've always been looking.

A: If you need to append the clipboard content (or some selected text) to a given file, you can use the "Launch a program or file" action, and define some .cmd file with parameter: "%km_cbtext"
or with parameter: "%km_seltext"
(%km_cbtext – clipboard text, %km_seltext – selected text)

I suppose, I meant something else, but I'm not sure, if KeyManager is supposed to do this. Perhaps it's more meant for phrase-expanders. I try it anyway:

Michael R. Since this conversation is going on, even beyond the discount-window, I have another question, which popped up recently.

I am wondering if it is possible - if not yet, perhaps in the future? - to define a key as

1) the content of a given file (at runtime)

this is similar to your template %km_cbtext, just without the need of the clipboard. E.g. it could be %km_file(r:\cb.txt).

[r: is my ram-disk-drive-letter]

2) the 'launch of a (self-written) program and using it's output to stdout as output of KM'

this way, it would be possible to define own templates...

I think (1) is not difficult to implement, and would help me in my current 'project'. Currently I am using the clipboard, but I would like to keep it free...

This would be awesome...

CFGuy Hi Everyone - I want to personally vouch for this program. I had originally purchased "Key Remapper" program, here on BDJ, but then I found out about this program, "Key Manager", which allows the user to do so much more. So I purchased a non-discounted license for 1 of my computers, and the program has been working out very well. I have even had contact with the sales and technical support team, and they were very polite, answered my pre-sales questions very honestly (when they could have made extra money by not telling me that if I purchase this program, I will also have the functionality of another program they sell, but they didn't and saved me some $$ in the process) and were always very timely in their responses to my inquiries. I am going right now to buy this additional 2 licenses (for my other 2 computers), and am very happy to see such a high quality program it at a discounted price. BTW, I do not work for this company, have no other association with them (other than being a previosu consumer of their software) and am not getting any kind of perks (financial, or otherwise) for posting this review. This is just my honest opinion and experiences with this company and their products. -CFguy

BearPup I purchased this deal when it was offered a few months ago, and I can't praise it enough. The programming of the application can be a bit tricky while one learns the program, but once learned it is easy to duplicate.

I use it as follows: 1) programming the middle mouse button to act like a double click; 2) to assign my various email addresses to hot keys (I have six of them); and 3) to remap my snap to beginning of a line, and my snap to the end of a line, from a combination of keys to a single key.

Once programmed, the application sits in the notification area of the Taskbar and works flawlessly. And you only have to program it once, and then export the completed profile to your second computer. While it doesn't keep a running total of how many times keys are activated by this program, I can say in all honesty that I use the program (use its programmed settings and keys) dozens of times a day.

Finally, the program works without any problems in Windows 10, in both the retail and the Beta versions. I highly recommend this program.

Regards,
BearPup

MK Best productivity tool there is. Use it many times on an hourly basis.
There is probably 20% of a program's functions used 80% of the time by a user. So I setup Key Manager to pop-up a user-defined menu at a click of a mouse and there are the functions I use the most.
Trying to remember what SketchUp's icons and menus are distracts me, so left-click on the mouse and up pops a menu of my most used functions, select from the menu, and I'm done.
In Word I have another menu which I've set to pop-up with things like resize a picture to fit an A3 page in one click; or insert characters like l or obscure Unicode characters which aren't readily memorable.
So note that you can assign multiple keystrokes, and so multiple functions, to one menu item.
A great time saver.

bvssunnydale Hi, this looks interesting. As a tech person I use and get rid of several cpus a year. Since this is licensed per cpu, would KM allow me to uninstall/remove from one cpu and then install on another? I don't want to violate the license but, for example, in 2017 I had five computers (never using more than two at a time but never keeping one for more than a few months) and just need to make sure the license would allow for this. Thanks very much.

ATNSOFT @bvssunnydale: Yes, it is allowed. One license grants its owner the right to use (install) the program on one computer. If you need to use it on multiple computers, you should purchase the corresponding number of licenses. If you purchased one license and you are using it on one computer but you have subsequently decided to install the program on another computer, you should either remove the program from the first computer and use the old license on the new computer or purchase an additional license if you need to have the program installed on two computers at the same time.

bvssunnydale Hi, just wondering if there was a manual or help file that could be printed out (or saved separately). This looks like a very useful program but not especially intuitive (and, trying with multiple browsers, I couldn't get your home page videos to play). Thanks very much.

mix624 Hi,

1
And no matter how many combos you program, you'll never forget any of them when you can pull them all up in a pop-up menu.

If I start typing keys will I get up different options to choose from ?

If so, will the options be related to my key input ?

If I start typing "sma" I could get up smart + smack + smaxkl or whatever predefined ?

It might be difficult to remember all combinations of keys AND I would not like a huge list of options either sincce it would take to long to look for it then.

2
Do you have smartcomplete as below or similar function?:
https://www.phraseexpande...tcomplete/

If you do not have the same function, then exactly what is the alternative you have ?

3
Can I use your software to insert predefined email snippets ? Like a paragraph or a complete email ?

Thanks

Paul I had purchased Key Remapper on this site from this company which is basically a slimmed down version of Key Manager, although I had no idea at the time that was the case. The price difference from that sale to this one is literally $9 but the company refuses to offer an upgrade path so I will no longer be supporting this company in future endeavors. Best of luck.

Praveen I have 2 questions:

1. Can Key Manager 2 be installed as a portable app?
(So I can keep it in my usb flash drive and use it on a different computer without installing?)

2. Does Key Manager 2 have all the functions of your other app "Text Paster"? Or are there some functions only available in "Text Paster"?

ATNSOFT @Praveen:

1. We do not have a portable version at the present moment.

2. Yes, Key Manager has all the functions of Text Paster. Key Manager – a more functional version of the program Text Paster.

Praveen Once I install Key Manager 2 on both of my computers, is there a way to keep all the settings synced between the 2 computers?

ATNSOFT @Praveen: Currently, Key Manager does not have this feature. You can probably implement this via a .bat/.cmd file (must be run before Key Manager is launched). The profiles and settings are located in the folder:
- Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, 2008: c:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\ATNSOFT\KeyManager\
- Windows XP, 2000, 2003: c:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data \ATNSOFT\KeyManager\

tech club Just wondering, does it support multiple keyboards, were each is recognized as
as different inputs? I would like to program one as a dedicated macro keyboard and use the other as a regular keyboard. If not, is there a way around this or will it be supported? Thanks

Mariusz W Last version is from January 4, 2019. Is there any plan of update. I'm testing it and there is a bug. On Windows 10 (latest update) after click shortcut Alt + TAB the KeyManager showa here but it shouldn't because it is minimized in Windows SysTray. It is happen after autostart with WIndows. If You close it after click Alt + TAB it is not show anymore. Ofcourse it maybe only trial version bug.

tech club Hopefully there will be more updates in the future, I purchased both key remapper (my first purchase) and Key Manager, and this is the one to buy. It’s a VERY useful and powerful program, I personally use it everyday.

Unfortunately, as others mentioned, there have not been any updates in a long time, in my case sometimes I need to restart the program as it seems to stop recognizing the input as if it was paused, when isn’t.

Also, the ability to differentiate inputs from multiple keyboards is missing. This would be tremendously useful feature for those of us that work with multiple macros (video, audio editing, Excel, Photoshop, CAD, etc.), so you could have a dedicated macro keyboard or numpad for different applications, and another to work normally. This has been requested over a year ago, but with the same reply “will try in the future”. Hopefully it could be implemented sooner than later, as it would also help to market the software towards designers, freelancers, youtubers, so on.

I wish this software gets more exposure, to keep its development going.

tech club @Antsoft, I do have that version installed since it was released, but still happens from time to time, I have not been able to pin point or replicate what software or action may be causing this conflict, but have noticed that this usually happens (and not always) when switching multiple programs frequently, or after exiting a game and switch to other applications, as if the software lost focus of the global actions assigned.

Also on rare occasions, it has asked me to input the re-register again. Not sure if it may have something to do a registry cleaner that I use (BleachBit) or may have to do with system restores done with Macrium Reflect. But this only happened a couple times.

I’m using win10 v1909.
Thank you.

ATNSOFT @tech club, this may be happening because the program/game has higher-level permissions than Key Manager. You can try starting Key Manager with admin rights (Run as Administrator).

Rich OBrien Does Key Manager 2 enable cording so that an action can be assigned when both the mouse buttons are pressed at the same time, specifically on the Logitech G300 mouse? For years I used the Kensington Thinking Mouse and it supported cording so by pressing both the mouse keys I could delete. Kensington failed to update its software to work with Windows 98 and every newer version of Windows so I had to move on a different programmable mouse. I settled on the Logitech G300 which has 9 programmable buttons but allows actions to be assigned to only one button at a time - no cording..

ATNSOFT @Rich OBrien, you can use the "User-defined modifiers" feature (UM button on the toolbar). And turn any key or mouse button into a user-defined modifier, for example, X1 mouse button (UM_Mouse_button_X1) and then assign actions to combinations like: UM_Mouse_button_X1 + Other keys or mouse buttons.

Eric Dear Sirs,

The name of the program is advertised as "Key Manager 2".

All screenshots however show the version of the software as being 1.15 ...

So, which is it? 2 or 1.15?

Thanks in advance for a prompt & enlightening reply,

Sincerely,

Eric Trattner

OLIN Unfortunately, it still does not implement fast full double click, respectively it blocks the key for other options. So after buying it, I had to program my own program in some time that can do more, besides your perfect environment for definition.
