MAman Macworld reviewed this product on 5/17/11 and had many good things to say but ultimately recommended avoiding this app due to continual crashing and redraw bugs that made it unusable. They also said the developer was aware of these issues and promised an update "in the near future". I wonder, has this app been updated since 5/17/11 to address the problems?

Sam Boyd I agree. Stay away! I've had lots of questions for support and they keep avoiding the problems.

One of the biggest problems is that you can't draw a straight line. Nice program but I don't understand why a simple straight line can't be drawn. If you try to draw a line it goes .15 degrees up or down never straight!

Program also crashes if you duplicate an object or if you try and use multiple colors on the same text line.

Stay away.

Macware The reviewer from Macworld did love the app, but experienced a few crash issues that we were never able to reproduce. We do know that when Snow Leopard was released there were some issues that were caused by the way Apple now handles graphics, but we have done our best to quickly address these new bugs when they come up.

In fact, we are just finishing up a complete rewrite for our canvas node support which should help solve most of the random crashing that some customers have reported.

I have used LDS Pro just fine for years; I have managed to create over 1500 logos (for LDS Pro and its expansion packs) using it, and only experienced a small number of crashes (usually occurring when I import a complex vector graphic from another application).

Logo Design Studio Pro is a great application, and you cannot find another app out there that includes so much for so little: a full vector illustration app, over 1000 pre-designed logos, over 2800 editable SVG graphics, 15 commercial use fonts, and so much more. It's well worth the normal price of $59, and I don't see how you can pass it up at $29.

Macware To draw a straight line you can simply use the Pen drawing tool to add a line between two nodes; just click the Pen tool then click once on the canvas and then move your mouse cursor to where you want the line to end and double click your mouse to add the second and final node. You now have a line, as straight as you want it!

Macware I have not experienced the same crashes when duplicating anything, or applying different colors to different sections of text in a text box. We encourage anyone experiencing crashes to contact our support directly (or send me a copy of the crash!) with exact details of how we can reproduce it. This includes every step you took once launching the application, including what object you may be using if any, what OS you are running, what font you are using (if it is related to text), if you opened a template and are trying to make changes to it, or if you started with a blank canvas. The more details we are given, the better chance we have of reproducing the crash. If we cannot reproduce the crash, we cannot fix it.

Macware Unfortunately, we do not have a recent trial available. We do offer a 30 day return policy though in case the software does not meet your expectations.
