It seems that wherever you go on the Internet, you’re being tracked. It’s not necessarily the work of hackers – more often than not, advertisers keep track of what sites you visit and what products you view, then serve you ads for stuff you’re most likely to buy. But what if you want to be anonymous? That’s when you pick up a copy of today’s discount software promotion, Mask Surf Ultimate!

Mask Surf Ultimate uses encrypted Tor tunnels and distributed servers to hide your true identity while you surf the Internet. With Mask Surf Ultimate, you never have to worry about advertisers or hackers tracking your location and browsing history. In fact, when you use Mask Surf Ultimate, you’ll be able to choose which country it appears you’re browsing from!

In addition to the obvious benefit of masking your true IP address while you’re on the Internet, Mask Surf Ultimate also provides you with an easy way to circumvent region restrictions on content on the Internet. If something is blocked in your country, just use Mask Surf Ultimate to look like you’re visiting from a different region and that content is yours to enjoy!

After you purchase Mask Surf Ultimate, it may be used for 24 months.

Adolphe Even after reading the Mark Surf site, I have trouble understanding what their product is exactly, technically speaking.

On the face of it, it's Tor, but you get to chose Tor exit nodes according to country, and you're not limited to Tor browser, and most of your software is torified (not all). It's supposed to be better than Tor and VPNs combined, without the limitations of both. And you have to pay on a yearly basis.

There are reasons for Tor limitations (no Flash, etc). Anonymity is a serious and difficult business. I understand what Tor, a VPN or Whonix do. I don't understand what Mask Surf does, and I'm weary of a product that I've never seen mentioned in the different reputable security sites I monitor. I would need more explanations than this to commit to an anonymity solution, especially one that incurs a recurring payment.

Mask Surf Ultimate doesn't require recurring payment. The license included unlimited usage on 2 PCs at the same time and 2 years of updates. It is up to you to purchase additional updates or not. The license for purchased version is not time limited.

Some software uses popular open engines. Network sniffers use WinPcap, video converters use MPEG tools, etc. We use Tor as anonymous engine.

What is the difference between Mask Surf and Tor Browser? There are 2 key features in anonymous software: security and usability. You can't have both of them at maximum level. The more security you have, the less usability you get.

Tor Browser is designed with maximum security in mind. It works well even in such restricted Internet environment as Iran and China has. But there are a lot of situations where people prefer a little bit less security for much more usability. We offer such solution. Besides basic Tor functions we offer some more features like detailed country selection, support for anonymous work for wide range of programs and ready to use anonymous DNS forwarding.

Some antiviruse programs have false positive detection with Mask Surf. Please add Mask Surf to exception list of your antivirus.

xCurt Did you never test your program on Windows 10? Windows Defender will not even allow the installer to be on the computer! The user doesn't get a chance to install MSU.

We tested the program on Windows 10 many times. Windows Defender started detect it few weeks ago.

You can open Windows Defender's history, select last detection and press "Allow". After it you can download Mask Surf Ultimate again and it won't be removed.

Adolphe Thank you, Evgeniy Minakov. I'm glad you confirm your product is built on Tor, and indeed there's no shame in that. You have just given us your elevator pitch : slightly less secure than Tor for those who don't need that level of anonymity, but more usable. It's a perfectly valid proposition, and I think it should be made clear on your site. For the time being, the impression given is Mask Surf is better than all existing solutions with no compromise at all, which breeds distrust.

Also, may I suggest that you explain on your site whether you are a VPN or not, whether you use your own servers or just existing Tor servers, whether you're a proxy or not, what are the compromises relative to Tor (or VPNs), etc.

Many people looking up your software will likely have researched solutions such as Tor, VPNs and proxys beforehand. I know I have. So it's important to explain whether you're a rabbit or a giraffe. Or a rabbit with giraffe legs. Or something else.

Chris @ Evgeniy Minakov You say this:

Mask Surf Ultimate doesn't require recurring payment. The license included unlimited usage on 2 PCs at the same time and 2 years of updates. It is up to you to purchase additional updates or not. The license for purchased version is not time limited.

But "The Fine Print" says this:

After you purchase Mask Surf Ultimate it may be used for 24 months and will not function after that unless you renew your subscription.
