DrTeeth I tested this as a) the price was nice and b) I have other software from this developer.

It uses Word as the means to preview the print job. Sounds a bit over the top to a non-programmer like me.

What if somebody has a stand alone version of Outlook? It is annoying that when closing the preview (the only reason for opening word), the app does not close it again...one is left with the document/email open in normal editing/writing mode.

David User Does it format anything other than e-mail?

Last time I looked, Outlook had other functions as well. It would be nice to be able to format a printed calender, for example.

Thanks,

I'm very sorry but OutlookPrinter is only able to customize emails.

James Kenney Does this require that Word be set as your e-mail editor?
We have had to turn off those features because it interferes with the "Voltage Encryption" system we use...

Also, what versions of Outlook does this work with?

My main machine runs Win7 64bit but with Office 10 32bit(When Office installed it actually recommended AGAINST installing the 64bit version as it said it would be incompatible with almost all extensions).

Thomas Wetzel @James:
No you shouldn't need to have Word as e-mail editor.

OutlookPrinter works with every Outlook edition except Outlook 2010 64bit. (Outlook 2010 32bit is being supported.)

Jon Spain Can a chain of emails be printed in reverse so that the earliest are first (much easier to read)?

Software Guy The license says per computer which has its advantages. The question I have is - does it require admin rights to install? Reason is many people would like to use such a utility at work where they often do not have admin rights. thanks.

B Josephs Hmmm.. doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in this one. I use Wisco's Backup Outlook and am very happy with it. Does anyone know if this app will easily cut out ads or other rubbish from email newsletters, or print just a selection of an email?

DrTeeth I would use a screen shot app if I wanted to cut out adverts

Jon Spain On March 28, I asked about printing in reverse order, which would be worth having on its own. Thomas told me privately that it couldn't do that and I suggest that it be considered.

E. Douglas Jensen If you install OP but don't get an OP button in OL2010, this may be why.

The FAQ on outlookprinter.com is wrong. A question is "I don't have an OP button". The answer is wrong for OL2010 at least:

"Sometimes Outlook disables the OutlookPrinter add-in.
In this case click on the Outlook menu 'Help' 'About' 'Disabled Items' If 'OutlookPrinter' is listed here then just enable it and restart Outlook. In Outlook 2007 you click on the menu 'Help' 'Disabled Items' to enable 'OutlookPrinter' again."

1. Help is on the OL File tab.
2. There is no About on the Help page.

Instead you go to the File tab and click Options and there click Addins.
