Dunking I'm sure this is a very clever picture editor to run in a browser, but can one download the app and run it locally without being connected to a server? If not, the very 'benefits' listed are actually the major reasons not to get sucked into it, so it is a fairly important question to ask and have answered.

Nigel Brewster Dunking I agree, it's very laggy for me on browser when I've tested it. I think many vendors that do this in browser stuff think that everyone has amazing internet, where in actual fact most of the world don't.

Not long ago, your company (Brain District) had a program named Paint Supreme but without the 3D part. I do not see it listed on your website. What is the status of that program? If that program is no longer available, then it makes me wonder what the future of PaintSupreme3D would be down the road. Would you please elaborate?

the software is offered at windows store https://www.microsoft.com...verviewtab for 11,99$. I don´t find the license information. Is the version offered at Microsoft store a subscription or a lifetime license or a one-fee time-limited license?
Do you plan to offer lifetime licenses? Subscription- /Abo-Models and one-fee time-limited offers are the absolute dealbreakers for many private users.

Markus Moenig @Gary Smith, PaintSupreme 3D is the successor of PaintSupreme (based on different technology). The original PaintSupreme is no longer available but all users have (and will be) offered a free upgrade.

Markus Moenig @ H. H. The versions in the Mac and Window AppStores are pay-once versions but are updated only every few months. The subscription based versions are regularly updated, supported and are available for all 4 platforms (Web, Linux, Mac, Windows).

We think that for a low-cost product like PaintSupreme a yearly subscription is the best way forward as we are continuously working on improving and updating it.

Please also take into consideration that hosting the software online produces monthly costs for us, it would not be economically feasible to provide infinite free access to the online version (at least not when you are a small company).

Firstly thanks for offering a cheaper version here of Paint Supreme 3D. If I am correct this is a one year license.

To be frank I would definitely opt for the Windows AppStore pay once edition to what is offered today and pay a few dollars more. I accept the fact that updates are less regular...

Having said that I take your point that it would not be economically viable to provide infinite free access to the online version.

To be constructive, I would suggest that you offer a lifetime edition of this software at a fair price that would mean additional revenue for your Company.

Markus Moenig @Howard Thanks for the suggestion. But if we would offer a lifetime version for our users we would need to support (bugfixes etc) all the lifetime editions which are out there which would be a huge amount of work for us ... .

Lito @Markus Just wanted to give you my thoughts about licensing.

For me any subscription software (ie you lose the right to use it the last updated version you had before the subscription ended) is a software I don't buy ever. I dropped Adobe Photoshop for that reason alone and went to alternatives + my last perpetual version of Photoshop CS5. IMHO you are better off making "support and updates" a subscription and keeping the program license itself perpetual. So you buy it you get 1 year of updates and support but after that year you no longer can get updates or support but the current version the customer has installed is still usable.

I do understand that you cannot give updates for free forever, but the whole expiring software after a year is a business model that many will not go for unless you have something extremely useful to them that is available in your software alone. It might be possible for a Adobe or an Autodesk to get away with it given their ubiquity in the industry, but for most smaller vendors it just isn't possible and more of a deterrent to using or even trying your software.

Markus Moenig @Nigel This is weird. Does PaintSupreme3D.com work for you ? In general we heard about one issue with virtual GPUs on Windows, other than that I can't think of a reason why it should not work.

Nigel Brewster @Markus Hi Markus I've put a video up just to show you what happens, I've tried a good few times to get it going and optimized the laptop and still doesn't work https://www.youtube.com/w...e=youtu.be It's not made public so only people on here can see.

Please take on board what the others have said about licence, I've come away from what were great companies when they've introduced this silly idea that licence for a year milarky, that might be ok for the huge companies like Adobe but it's not viable for smaller vendors. I think you got some great ideas with the program, on the site it works of a sort, but it's laggy and I'm using super fast fibre broadband.
I'm a web developer and what you got to think is not what you can see, but what others can see, it's no good having a site where it's magical, but places on the sub continent and even parts of Australia have terrible net speeds. Just my thoughts on it anyway.

Nigel Brewster Hi @Markus, nothing is going on that's the point haha The program just gets to the splash and then nothing.
My system is an HP laptop Win10 64bit. I ran Win Optimizer and usually that fixes any problems like freezing, but not this time. I do think however that this notion just looking at your programs, is interesting and if you forget the licence pay for a year business it can come good for your company.
