David Silver This program is NOT compatible with Windows 7. I have had it for several months and it no longer works. I emailed their support and they said it is a Windows 7 problem, not a Paragon problem, and there is nothing they can do about it. They mention here that they have a 64 bit version (I have W7 64 bit) but when you click on the download link, it says it does not exist. There is no mention of a 64-bit version on their site, either. So if you have W7, especially the 64-bit version, you might want to think twice about purchasing this program.

Paragon Software Dear friends, Paragon Backup & Recovery 10 Suite is fully compatible with Windows 7 32- and 64-bit. It's a bit different things: "Windows problem" and "not compatible with Windows 7". Unfortunately, can't give detailed comment without knowing the situation - David didn't mention any details about the situation he met.

Latest build of the program comes as one universal installation file (both for 32- and 64-bit OS) that automatically installs needed version onto PC.

Paragon Software Dear David, I checked support requests from you, and found last one. The program worked successfully for several months as you say. So it's not incompatibility issue. Your situation is unique, and is connected maybe with some third-party backup software installed on your PC or general Windows problem - that can happen to anyone, though of course it happens not often. I think if you could restore the system from backup taken when Backup & Recovery was working well, it will work for you for many months more. After all, that's what backup are needed for - to get the system back to working state :-)

Noxcho A @David, have you tried to check your system with Avast Antivirus? I have seen this problem before with different software (non Paragon). I tried to download MS Visual Studio as recommended on some forums but no luck.
Then found someone recommending virus scan with Avast. It found viruses and fixed the system.
Sure it was easier to reinstall OS but I never look for easy ways.
BTW, if you have the program for 6 months and have done good backups of your system - aren't you able to restore from earlier backup to working state of the system?

Deleto Maximo David, isn't it a bit unfair to jump to general conclusions only from limited personal experience. While it is nice to give advice, I think it's a bit too simple to generalize "This program is NOT compatible with Windows 7." If you had tried it on a few other machines and came to the same results, I could at least understand.

Anyway, for everyone else out there, I think it might be a good idea to download the free trial and see for yourselves.

BTW, I am not affiliated with Paragon but I doubt that they would actually publish a product not fully compatible with Win7.

Sandro Perotti According to their web site, the price for this software is $49.95. It's Backup & Recovery 10 Home that costs $29.95. I am asking for a clear confirmation that what is offered here is Backup & Recovery 10 "Suite" for $14.95 and NOT Backup & Recovery 10 "Home". Thank you.

Mitchell Kastner IMHO it would be foolhardy not to download the program before purchasing it. You then should go to Paragon's blog and read a multi-image post on how to use it. Then create a test archive and see if you can restore it.

To the best of my knowledge, the program creates archives and not jobs and tasks which in turn create archives. Once you create the archive you the can schedule backups if you can find the archive. Likewise once you create the archive, you can schedule incremental backups but I have not been able to limit the number of incremental backups. I have found that I have to delete the increments myself. It would be easier if you could set the number of increments.

I also have not been able to do system backups to an external USB. I get an error message that VSS technology will not start whereas Genie Time Line, purchased on BDJ, and Goodsync use that technology without a problem. Tech support said it might be physical problems with the hard drive whereas it is not. Paragon has its own VSS technology and when I tried to run the system backup yesterday, I returned to find a blue screen although I cannot be certain of the source of the problem.
