What are people saying about Paragon Virtualization Manager 14 Professional

James Evans @ Paragon
I have Paragon HD Manager Suite 2012. How does Virtualization Manager 12 Professional compare with this. Are there features in Virtualization that are redundant or separate from the HD Manager Suite?

Paragon Software Hi James Evans,

This title is much more comprehensive than HDM 12 Suite in the part of virtualization/migration. There are all types of migration in VM 12 Professional unlike Suite which is included only P2V Copy and P2V Adjust OS functionality. Also VM 12 Pro has a powerful feature “Connect VD” to connect a virtual disk as if it’s an ordinary physical disk. For more information about VM 12 Pro please get on the product page - http://www.paragon-softwa...index.html

bob roos Speaking of "dual boot" -- would this help me boot a physical disk of Windows 7? I need to make a new install of win 7 to replace my current one (which is partially corrupted). I need to keep running the old while I build the new.

I have a new SSD I want to boot for the new Win7 but I would like to be able to build the system virtually and then switch to it as the main boot system.

Paragon Software Transfering virtual system to physical drive is called V2P. To perform it you need to configure your OS in a virtual environment, then use "Connect a virtual disk" function to mount virtual disk with OS, after that please use Copy Hard Disk Wizard to make a copy of virtual system to a physical disk.

If your system can't boot right after the copy, please use P2P Adjust OS Wizard to inject SATA controller and other required drivers into copied Windows.

bob roos Thanks, I really didn't want a copy, but to use the actual disk. If I do use a copy can I copy a virtual disk back to a real physical disk?

Goran Janevski Policy says for "family use". So on how many computers can I install this amazing program?

Thanks,

Paragon Software @ bob roos - you may copy OS from a virtual machine to a physical disk using V2P steps described in previous comment

@Goran - Unfortunately, there is a mistake in the policy on this website (www.bitsdujour.com) and should be updated. One lisence of Virtualization Manager 12 Professional can be installed only on 1 PC.

Goran Janevski That is unfortunate. I need to put this on three computers in my house.

In light of the mistake, can you put together a 3-license deal for me (which is cheaper than 3 times the single license)?

Thanks,
Goran

bemmer schwartz You mention previously "Also VM 12 Pro has a powerful feature “Connect VD” to connect a virtual disk as if it’s an ordinary physical disk."

But after reading your documentation, the connected vd does not show up in Windows Explorer as a drive letter, but instead must use your own file transfer utility for file operations. Do you have any plans to fix this?

Kelly Major Is there a link or can you quickly summarizes for me why I would want to use this instead of the VMWare Converter?

In my case I only care about physical machines and VMWare VMs.

Thanks!

Allan Winston I have a specialized requirement and was wondering whether your product would handle it.
I use Windows 7 (64-bit) as my main operating system. However, I am working on a project where I am being supplied .VMDK filesfor an Ubuntu Linux system which can be run using either the free VMware player or VMware Workstation. However, due to performance considerations, I would also like to be able to migrate the Ubuntu Linux system into a partition on my hard drive which I can natively boot.
I have downloaded your software manual. Will the V2P functionality in your product allow me to accomplish this conversion from a .vmdk file into a bootable partition? My concern is that the vmdk image may contain drivers that are specific to a virtual machine environment and might cause a boot failure in a “bare-metal” environment.

Garrett Goyette Is this like a RamDisk or Ramdrive, but with a little more helpfullness. I see from screen prints that you have options such as move OS into virtual disk (I assume into RAM... assuming one has some extra to spare].. whereas with most ram disk, the end user would be left to figure out which files one has to move by themselves?

Constantin Florea @Garett Goyette - Thanks for pointing the price issue. We fixed it. In fact the $99.95 price was correct in the sense that previously if you pressed the Buy Now link, you could purchase the "Paragon Virtualization Manager 12 Professional (English) - Family License (3 PCs in one household)" version. We've just added the $59.95 version to the offer which means now, when you press the Buy Now link you should see two purchasing options: one for the $99.95 version discounted at $79.96 and one for the $59.95 version discounted at $47.96.

Michael R. What is the difference between Paragon Virtualization Manager 12 Pro and other products of Paragon containing virtualization features too, like Go Virtual 13? Perhaps a comparison table?

PVM12 is out for nearly a year now. Is v13 just around the corner? And if yes, will today's buyers get a free upgrade?

Are there any difficulties to expect, concerning foreign versions of OS or keyboards (like the german-keyboard-layout)?

If I understand it right, Paragon's Hard Disk Manager 12 is a superset of today's Virtualization Manager...

Nelson Carvalho Sorry my English and questions.
I wonder if Virtualization Manager 14 Professional offers the following features.
1) I use 64bit Windows. I need to create a virtual machine with Windows 32bit.
2) I need to copy data between the two areas.
3) The virtual machine created by Virtualization Manager 14 Professional allows network and Internet access?
4) I can work with both areas while requiring only switch from one to another with CTRL + Tab, for example?
5) My Operating System (Win64bits) is installed on an SSD. Any problems?

In advance thank you for your attention

Nelson

There is a promotional price for this toolkit (Hard Disk Manager 14 Suite)?
Thanks

Paragon Software @Nelson,
Virtualization Manager is a tool to convert physical machine or Parqagon archive containing Windows OS to a virtual machine. It is not an enviroment to run virtual machines. When you use e.g. P2V Copy wizard, it will create a folder with the virtual machine configuration file and the virtual disk file of selected virtual machine vendor. Then you will need to open this virtual machine in appropriate VM manager, e.g. VMWare Player.

Copying files between physical and running virtual OS can be done in separate ways. Some required to install special integration tools into running VM.

We currently have this deal on Paragon Hard Disk Manager 14 Suite http://www.bitsdujour.com...r-14-suite .

Michael R. Is this a subset of the tools, which are inside Paragon's Harddisk Manager or does it have some extra features?

Paragon Software Hi Michael,

it depends on which Hard Disk Manager you're using.
If you're using Hard Disk Manager Professional, you do have all features of Virtualization Manager already.
If you're using Hard Disk Manager Suite, Virtualization Manager Professional has many extra features.

mix624 I wish I could understand what this really is...
To little explainations/examples or clarifications of what this is and what I can really do with this software. Seems interesting but confusing to me...

If you could hurry to give me more examples/clarifications OR online resources to read up on this it would be great, thanks...

Everett User Does not mention Windows 10. Is it compatible:
1. as a host system
2. as a system that can be virtualized in VirtualBox (which does support Windows 10)?

Constantin Florea @Everett User, I have just contacted the vendor regarding your two questions.

We did not add Windows 10 to the Platforms section in this page because Windows 10 is not specified in the System Requirements section of this page:
