I have just ordered one licence of PDF Writer and tried to install it but it fails with this error message "Redistributable was not installed!". The only option provided is "Cancel Installation".

What can I do?

Idriys User I installed the trial. Got a message that stated a dll was missing so I couldn't run it: MSVCR.dll. Any solutions out there?

PDF Pro 10 Hi Dominik, thank you for your message. I am looking into this right now and will get back to you. The installer does download additional files, so it is possible that either our server connection was lost, or your firewall blocked the download. I will check it and report back to you

PDF Pro 10 I just tried to reinstall PDF Writer again, and it seemed to work for me. Idriys and Dominik, could you either post here or send a support request with the following information?

- where did the error occur (during installation or after the installation)?
- was it possible your firewall blocked the internet connection, or your antivirus deleted a file? What antivirus are you using?

I ran Avira and it didn't find anything nor did Avira remove any files. Please submit a support request with your email so that we can follow up with you on this issue here. Randal H. I also tried to install PDF Writer; received the same error message as
Idriys User, that is msvcr120.dll missing. Did a search on my system for that file and found it is part of several different programs. Copied it from another folder (couple of different ones) to PDF Writer folder, PDF Writer stilll didn't start but gave a different error message. I don't know if all msvcr120.dll files contain the same info.
Tried the installer from the website, got same error message. Tried the installer for PDF Writer Pro; it installed and started up just fine.
And I turned off my firewall for the install. : )

Just for a bit more information: we actually have 2 separate builds of PDF Writer on the pdfwriter.com website. the one on the homepage is a white label software that we have licensed from a different publisher. The one on this promotion is an application that we developed in-house.

The main advantage is that we will be actively supporting bug fixes and new feature development based on feedback we receive from reviews like the one you've sent, which is not possible with our former build. We just launched the new application a few days ago and are still ironing out a few bugs. If you could submit a support request with screenshots and information on your system, this will help us identify the problem and follow up with your case directly.

Randal H. Hello. I decided to follow through on your request and performed install of PDF Writer similar to what I did originally. I was collecting screen captures from the time install completed, got the same "missing MSVCR120.dll" message. Took a snip of PDF Writer install folder, no "MSVCR120.dll" present in the folder (I assumed that that is where it should be, not knowing for sure). I fired up "Search Everything" for existing "MSVCR120.dll" and copied the one with the newest date (which is part of EssentialPIM) into the PDF Writer program folder in Program Files (X86). Seems to have been a better choice as PDF Writer now works. Seems your program download is just missing the noted library file.

Chris Deal Breaker: Online license activation is required with a hardware footprint, and 1 installation per footprint.

If you change computers, we reset the hardware footprint, so you don't need a separate key if you change hard disks or computers, for instance.

In terms of how many computers the software will work on concurrently, we started off with 1. If others feel strongly about this, we can up it to 2 or 3 if you guys think it would be more fair.

PDF Pro 10 Hi Randal,

The way we do this is if you want to want to transfer to another computer, our customer support "resets" the license key so that it can be reused on a different machine instead of having to send a separate key.

That said, we'll make sure a license key can be activated on 2 machines at the same time, in the future (might take a few days to implement this change).

han tuah I try to purchase the PDF writer. the price is printed RM38. i do not want the CD backup. WHen i want to pay by credit card, the price has gone up to RM129 not RM38 I try to add the CD backup which is RM59 still it cannot add up to RM129. Your system will not change though i only want the program for RM38. it insists to charge me RM129. I am from Malaysia. With the exchange rate it still cannot add up to RM129 for US8.99
this is a rip off

You should have the option to deselect the CD backup on the checkout. I think almost all of the orders that came in from this promotion do not include the CD backup in the order. Kindly let me know if you're still having trouble and send a support request, I can then send a custom order without the CD on it for you

WTF?
Is this server only available from 8am to 5pm?
Or is it 9 to 4?

on my install problem, and they sent it within about 16 hrs. of my posting my
comment here.
That's the good news.
Unfortunately, they're going on holiday & won't be back until
the 15th.
Oh well, hopefully they can get things fixed then.
