Tortuga @Christopher Sonon Hello :)
Yes, I saw the announcement on the web site abt the Co.being sold :(
Nooooo !!!! Why?!!!
Does it mean you'll no longer be the lead Developer?
We all like & trust you, not sure we are comfortable if you are out of the picture ... *sigh*
I don't even care that there isn't a new version! There is always people screaming for new versions ...! Don't fret abt it!

Also, there is a link you posted here Dec.2015, that is a dead end.
Can you provide the new one, please

This is Christopher Sonon; the original developer. I will still be around for guidance to the team that is purchasing it. I know them both well and the community is in good hands! I was torn between stopping all development/support or selling out the software. I opted for selling to people that have a desire to see it grow. I will be taking some much needed time with my kids and wife. I will monitor the boards and provide feedback when possible. Thank you to all who have been loyal to the product!

Tortuga @Christopher Hello again :)
I understand. It's sad though. But, if it fits you, that's the most important !!
Family first, always :)

I hv questions:
**1. Have you made sure the new owners will respect the Policy Terms, for all of us that purchased previously?
**2. The link I posted on my previous comment, can you post the new one for the 'Help' pages? That one is dead.
**3. Some time ago I asked for a *complete* changelog, from the beginning.
I see you've added dates & more detail for versions 15.*, but still can't find anything from previous versions ie 2011 to 2015.

Peace
And good luck !!! :)

Thank you for understanding about family. Regarding your questions.

1. Yes, they will be honoring ALL existing lifetime licenses. They may be changing the pricing structure; however that will be their call based on the features they implement and the direction they decide. Rest assured that they have agreed to continue to honor all the existing licenses that are lifetime as such.
2. The link has been changed to: http://serialsafehelp.2lo...0Help.html?
3. There is not much information before version 15.# for change logs as I did not keep a running list. I will work with the new owners to ensure that they post a complete listing on the website and have them post back to BitsDuJour when it is complete.

Tortuga Hello Christopher :)
Thank you for your reply!
**1. Fantastic! I'm a bit more reassured.
**2. Yes, that is the link I've been looking for. Yeahh
There should be a link in the front page or something. Even though I knew that page existed, no amount of searching produced any results ...
**3. Ok. Softpedia has a couple of older changelogs, so I thought you had more.
New question:
**4. You said 'I will monitor the boards'. I searched the site ...
Where are they ? Link please.

Peace

3. I can work with the new team to get this data for you.
4. What I mean is that I will monitor BitsDuJour for comments. If they opt to implement a forum (which was on my list) I will monitor that as well.

Christopher User @Don User -
From 9-21-2015 to 5-5-2016 there were 6 updates released. This was a pretty good running average. You are correct there has not been a lot of activity on the product since May have 2016 and I take full ownership of that. Sadly, personal and health issues took a lot of my time away from the product. This was the main reason I opted to discontinue my participation in the product and sell it out. The community deserves someone that can be more active and that is not me at this point in my life. I opted to sell it to people who share my vision for the product and have the time/desire to spend on it. My family will be coming first and I am sorry if that makes you feel like you were "buffaloed". I can say that V17 interface was complete and the enhancement list had large amounts implemented but just never came to the point of release.

Bruce Mittleman Does serialsafe find all the serials on your computer with a scan or do you have to input them manually????
Aug 5 2017 at 8:55am Copy Link
1
2LogicalSolutions @Bruce Mittleman - The software does scan the registry for software, but it does not grab serial numbers through the registry. There is the manual way of adding everything, but you can also import the serial numbers via Excel and other importing methods.

As of now, we are looking into ways of scanning the registry, but at the moment, it does not have that functionality.

Rheal Poirier Well from what i do understand it does not fill automaticaly the details about a program used or running. We have to fill all details by hand...definitely not practical when are some programs that they just bring to our attention all details concerning programs already running on the hard disk, model, serial etc...what more ! Nothing from your program. Very desappointed about this annoncement !

Nabeel Auzae Can we reinstall?
What languages does the program support?
Aug 5 2017 at 9:54am Copy Link

2LogicalSolutions @Rheal Poirier, I would like to mention that the software does scan the registry and captures information about all the programs installed. What it does not do is automatically capture the serial number. The software does capture all the details of the software installed.

This makes it easier to capture all the data on programs, but you will need to still enter the serial number manually.

There is a portable version of the software, so you will not have to install anything. Currently, the software is only in English.

jack hath Does SerialSafe ONLY serve as an encrypted vault for serial #s?

Does SerialSafe find the Serial #s of installed products, like other programs?

It sounds like the user has to manually collect up all of his/her Serial #s and then dump them in Serial Safe.

Don User Christopher User - Doesn't really matter what caused the issues. I guess I was naive thinking that the application would mature in the original vein. The product never went anywhere, normally when I invest money in a license I know I am taking a chance. So I guess I lost on this one, 'buffaloed' is one way of expressing the feeling. Health issues are not something you can do anything about. But selling to someone with a different vision, well that's not what I opted in for. Looks like I'll be trying to find another more mature complete solution. Thanks for your explanation though. No reply necessary, good luck.

2LogicalSolutions All, I just want to thank everyone who has been participating in this event. I know we have much further to go with the software, and we very much intend to take it there.

We have a lot of plans for the software, and the time to work on it. We will be actively work on the software quite heavily over the upcoming months.

John User I have had this program for about 2 years, purchasing a lifetime license.

Previous to using this program I used a small notebook that I carried around with me for about 20 years (I am a retired Foreign Service Officer) from country to country. Whenever I installed a new program or PC game I intended to keep (not just trials) I entered just basic information in my notebook. When I deleted or replaced a program, I would cross it out in the notebook. After awhile this got to be a bit messy.

Along comes SerialSafe and I use THIS now. Honestly, right now I think you are wasting your time with the scans. The scans will miss many programs you have and pick up a lot of stuff you don't care about - like multiple instances of Microsoft Visual C++ for example.

So, yes, IMO it is best to bite the bullet and enter things manually. Then update it as you go. Maybe the new regime will improve the scan feature, I hope so. But, for now, this program has been a lifesaver for me on many occasions and allowed me to toss that little notebook I carried around all those years.

There is one thing missing that I would like to see - apologies if I just don't know it is there. SerialSafe can print individual program records, but there is no way to print a report listing all of your programs and selected data.

Please download and give this program a try if you'd like to organize all those applications on your hard drive. And, good luck to Christopher et al in the future development of SerialSafe!

clive User The problem with programmes like this is - the user! It is great if you are an organised person who remembers to add new entries but then almost any database or spreadsheet could store the basic information without the bells ans whistles. What would be great would be a programme that prompted you to enter the data whenever you install or update a piece of software

Thank you for your kind words! We really appreciate your support. To add on to what you are saying, we do have plans for reviewing the current scanner, and seeing what we can do to optimize its performance. We are in the middle of putting together a roadmap that will also take into consideration comments from here. So, thank you so much, and feel free to keep an eye on our Twitter feed for product updates!

2LogicalSolutions @Jackie - Windows XP will work with SerialSafe. The only requirement is that you will need to install .NET 4.5 prior to using SerialSafe. Once that is installed, it will work inside of the Windows XP environment.

William Henry Does this program go into the computer and pull the serial numbers or is it just a Data Base Manager where serial numbers have to be entered manually?
Aug 7 2017 at 12:56pm Copy Link
0
2LogicalSolutions @William Henry - SerialSafe is a serial management software. It will scan your registry, but at the moment, it only will populate software information. It will grab a lot of information from the registry, however, we can't grab serial information from the registry automatically just yet.

We are looking into optimizing this searching procedure, but the only true way for some software is to still manually enter it.

That being said, the software goes beyond just managing a serial number. You can also capture license files and preview them as well. You can also store information regarding a vendor for the software such as price, contact, and contact information just to name a few.

I encourage you to download our trial software (which allows you to capture up to two licenses) and give it a try!
