Yes, you can change the currency to GBP. Actually you can use any currency (and language) on your invoices as they are all supported.

The HTML invoice generator tool can be used indefinitely free of charge for writing and printing invoices (it works independently from the web based service). However, in case you'd need more features like payments, automatic follow-ups, email tracking and scheduling, online quotes, etc., you'll need the web based service. Please note that you're not obligated to use the service after the 6-month period. You can simple cancel and continue using the lightweight HTML invoice generator tool.

Plus it tracks every new comment, quote approval and received payment, and lets you know by email so you don't need to login every time."

This means that clients need to access an online account to receive invoices? Not all clients will accept to do so. In fact, none of mine will I think, as they are finance departments of large international companies - wanting to do things by their rules, not mine. With all of my current clients I have to send a pdf to a specific email address. I see that Invoicebus allows to generate a pdf, but I assume all automated tracking then is lost - or am I overlooking something?

Stefan Chachovski Hi Bruno, actually all invoices that Invoicebus generates are directly accessible online so your client doesn't need account to access them (here's an example - https://invoicebus.com/demoinvoice). You only need to send him a direct link to your invoice and that's all. In fact, you don't even need to attach PDF to your email as your client can directly download the invoice as PDF from there. It's nice to know that this way you have full control over your document (for example if you've made unintentional mistake, you can quickly edit the document on-the-fly even if you already sent it).

Regarding the email tracking we track few events for all sent emails
- email sent (if the email is properly sent from our system)
- email delivered (if the email is properly delivered to your client's inbox)
- email bounced/not delivered (if the email is rejected by some reason)
- online document opened (if the online document is opened by the client by clicking the link). Previously we tracked email opens regardless of the link, but this didn't show very reliably as some email clients are blocking it by default. However, as more people are asking for this functionality we're thinking to get it back.

Norm Sash Hi Stefan... on the website FAQ is the following statement that indicates after the 6 month subscription runs out no new invoices can be created (thus you really have to have a subscription.) Is this correct?

"If you reach the end of your trial without choosing a subscription, your account will be put on hold. You can continue using Invoicebus with your existing data as usual, but you won't be able to create any new documents until you choose a subscription."

Stefan Chachovski Hey Norm, you are totally right! After the 6-month you'll need to reinstate your subscription in order to continue using the web-based service.

Peter User Hi Stefan: This looks like a very interesting project, and thank-you for the offer here.

I have three questions:

The first is about the templates: Would we have a choice among the several templates offered at $9? Or, if someone would like one of the more expensive ones, how would that be dealt with during this offer?

How could I upgrade from the Single Decker plan (if I needed to) to the double-decker, if I were on a yearly or two-year payment system?

How secure is the information on your website, both in terms of security (e.g backups, hacker-safe, etc) and privacy (e.g is it encrypted?)

The included template is Vip - $9, while the other templates are not covered by this promotion. Anyway we're super happy to hear you like them too!

Regarding the subscription, the promotion includes 6-month Single-decker plan after which you can continue using the monthly Single-decker or upgrade to any annual or biennial plan. Moreover, if you later decide to upgrade from annual Single-decker to biennial Double-decker (for example in the middle of a billing cycle), you'll be charged the new rate immediately while the unused balance will be refunded.

We take security as one of the biggest considerations in everything we do. This means, the communication between your computer and our servers happens through an encrypted 256-bit SSL channel, which ensures that any data (usernames, passwords, and content) cannot be intercepted and read by a third-party.

All sensitive data in our database is kept in a super secure form, encrypted with AES-256 – first open symmetric-key cipher approved by the NSA and used by the U.S. Federal Government for storing secret information.

The Invoicebus database system is carefully designed to be highly available and fault tolerant. All data stored in our database is instantly written to 3 storage disks, all on separate nodes that reside on redundant power supplies and generators. Once a day we make additional snapshot of the entire database and replicate it to 9 other data centers on 4 different continents.

We do store each product for future re-use (along with its price and tax). The good thing is that this happens automatically when you write/save the invoice, so you don't need to manage anything separately. Thus, for every new invoice you create, you'll be given suggestion to select from your previously used products.

The invoice editor is designed in a way that allows you to manage all of your products at the exactly same place where you write the invoice itself. This way your focus will be kept on the content, rather than on the software (the idea is to make the software 'invisible' to the end user :) ). There is reference on the web-site that Invoicebus supports multi-languages. I have both English-speaking and French-speaking clients. Can I use an English interface with my English-speaking clients and a French interface with my French-speaking clients?

The multi-language support refers to the documents, while the interface is English only. I understand that this could be a turn off for some international non-English speaking clients you are working with, so we will definitely consider it for a future update.

Your situation with the message box is definitely strange Peter! We use dedicated centralized support system and you should be able to access it by clicking the 'Support' link at the top (unless you have some blocker in your browser). Alternatively, you can use the live chat (at the bottom), or ultimately you can shoot us an email at support @ invoicebus .com (we usually respond within an hour or so).

By the way, we're missing a knowledge base and should create one. It would be very useful!

Regarding the auto invoice numbering, we've made a trade off here in a favor of flexibility and simplicity. We sacrificed the automation because the only way to accomplish flexible auto-increment is by defining custom numbering pattern, which most people find it too complicated.

Peter User Just to let you know -- Stefan helped me to resolve my question about the on-line support. The key was to look nearer the bottom of the on-line messaging window. No fix was needed, just a sharper eye.

The responses I have had had from the InvoiceBus Drivers has been excellent -- always an important consideration when I am evaluating a software program. And when it touches such an important aspect of my work as a small business owner, it is critical. This offer is effectively a way that you can try this program out for six months .. a pretty good offer I would say...

Red Microuser On vacation in poor internet receptivity area. Try to download file, but get cutoff and do not receive full file. Your download site thinks I did receive the full file from several attempts, and prohibits additional trys. Looks like I am stuck. When I return home where I have good internet signal, this days BcJ offer will be over.
Any ideas??

This means the download link from the receipt email will expire if you miss to download it during the promo day. Once downloaded - it's forever yours and can be re-used as many times you like.

Randy Martin I liked the demo. This makes a lot of sense. Looks good and works easily as an online program.
However.

I guess I didn't really get what "HTML" meant to ME.
That there is no form, no software, no program.
I have to use coding (simple to do, they say).
But to ME, that's not a template. That's a system to CREATE a template using HTML and CSS.

I guess I'm spoiled by the drag and drop universe. And you coding people will scoff at me but as a single entrepreneur, I won't take the time to get this done. My word template is fine.

Stefan Chachovski Hey Randy, I really appreciate your input!

Please forgive me if we're crossing wires here, but the invoice template is made to work out-of-the box actually. You don't need any knowledge in HTML to write invoices with it. In fact, it is made exactly for people who are using Word or Excel - to give them better and simpler experience.

However, those who'd like to make more advanced customization of the invoice (changes in the structure, layout, colors, etc), will need to have basic knowledge in HTML/CSS (for which we've prepared detailed step-by-step guide).

Please note that if you ever decide to use the template with the bus, we can make all of this for you.

Randy Martin When I downloaded, there was a template.html to open. It was nothing but lines of copy smack up against the left hand margin. There was an explanation of how to change names and copy it into CSS or something. That's when I bailed.

I was expecting an exe file of some sort that would have opened a program.

Did I miss that?

Stefan Chachovski I see Randy... this usually happens when your default program for opening .html files (which by default is internet browser) is not properly set.

But no worries, the only thing you need to do is open the file with your favorite internet browser (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or whatever you use to browse the net) and everything should be OK. In your situation, I believe the easiest way to do this is drag and drop the template.html file in your browser window.

Randy Martin I use FireFox and I double clicked on the template.html on my computer and it opened in a new tab in FF and looked just like I described it earlier. Single line, very tight, smashed up against the left margin, no artwork or design or layout whatsoever.

Randy Martin I sent the screen shots to Stefan and he figured out MY problem. (I hadn't unzipped, I was trying to run the template from within the zip package and, as you ALL know, that never works!) So, I unzipped it and it works and I like it. Hope you all were able to get the free trial.
