What are people saying about Southside Solutions Elements with Ease

G. Blensten Don't know what's supposed to happen with this software. Installed it, but all it does it put up a little (and I mean LITTLE) box on the screen with the name of an element. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THIS??? WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN NEXT? Uninstalled.

Christopher Kennedy For help, use the QuickStart help system by either right-clicking the little window and selecting QuickStart or by pressing F1. This will give you plenty of insight as to how to use the application and access its' many features.

Pat Anderson Long time ago i learned this on school and forgot most of it. I like the 'game way' teaching system of this, a nice way for the kids (and me too) to learn something. Thanks for this free offer!

@G. Blensten, r.click on the small screen or icon in taskbar and you get options for quickstart (which explains how it works) or you can do a quiz or see the whole periodic table also you can change the background color. Use mouse wheel or space to go to next element in small screen. Didn't see any option to make the small screen bigger (would be nice for people who don't see very well). Small screen chances element every 15 min if you don't do anything. You can do the quiz if you want to know if you remember the things seen on the small screen. I think it's nice, you can decide how quickly you want to learn and it gives the opportunity to learn while doing other stuff!

Brian W Wow! Poor website. only two little screenshots. And on the small screenshot, the name of the software is larger than the atomic number. Really?! Surely it does more than this!?!

James K FINALLY! A decent giveaway! Like in the "old" days! (Re: 2 years ago!)

No bullsnot limited license that runs out!

I've copied the most important (IMHO) parts of the "Fine Print" link and put them below in their order of importance:

For
> [I]t may be used indefinitely
> [Can be TRANSFERRED] to another owned computer
> [I]nstall/register the software at any time
> Support is provided for the lifetime of the product.
> Upgrades... will be free for minor versions only

> [F]or Commercial and Personal use
> [Major Version Upgrades] will require additional payment

I very much appreciate this giveaway, because I do not participate in any "rentals". Neither free ones, nor will I pay for time-limited licensed software.

Christopher Kennedy James K:

Thank you for your comment and taking the time to investigate Southside Solution software products. To be honest, we do not particularly care for the new de facto standard subscription model of software pricing, either. What happened to the good ol' days when perpetual licenses were around?!

Most ISVs (Independent Software Vendors) seem to be switching to this retail model in which they can keep "bleeding" your pockets...that may be a constantly stable stream of revenue for the vendor, but, what about customer satisfaction? Southside Solutions is proud to provide education and productivity software to all computer users while, at the same time, leaving you and your pockets smiling! We do hope you find Elements with Ease useful. Thank you for your time and interest, James.

Kit Kagaya @Chistopher, will the updates for the element name changes be part of a free minor version?

Christopher Kennedy Kit:

Great question! There will be a minor version update with elemental name changes and a major version update with user interface upgrades. Thank you for your interest. I do hope you find Elements with Ease useful.

Steph Christopher, thanks for the giveaway. In future please avoid silently adding your program to Windows startup during installation. There's no excuse for it, and it is a surefire way of alienating yourself from potential customers.

Christopher Kennedy Steph:

Thank you for the suggestion. Yours and all other commentary is greatly appreciated as this helps to shape the future of Southside Solutions products. In short, I do hear you and the startup installation will either be disabled or become an option in an upcoming minor version update and in all future releases. Thank you, again.

webdancer Thanks. Looks like a useful tool, nice real license, too. And may I just say that I am charmed by this vendor's communication?
