What are people saying about textBEAST SmartTemplates

MK Hello, Is there the ability to format the text (bold, italic, etc.) inside the Library and outside of the DocumentBox? And have other formatting like superscript or subscript (I do a lot of technical writing which uses these)?
It's strange to have a template setup in the Library, but then have to routinely edit it in the DocumentBox for the formatting noted above. It limits the idea of "template".
Hope I'm missing something.

Al Baran In many cases, "templates" can be text clips that contain variables and can be directly pasted into other applications (when the DocumentBox is rolled up). For simplicity and ability to match the formatting in target documents, the library saves material in plain text.

The strength of the software comes from the ability to easily create variables that present options to the user when pasting, making the template easy to customize when in use.

bvssunnydale Hi, I purchased 'TextBeast3_Pro' (based on the downloaded file name on 7-11-21. Is there any advantage in upgrading to the new version (honestly, I don' t believe I ever got around to installing it - my bad, not yours). I couldn't find a change log on your site so just wondering. Thanks very much.

Al Baran Hi Bvsunnydale, thank you for your interest in textBEAST! This variant of textBEAST, called "SmartTemplates," is a different form of the software, not an update to the one you have (the setup file called "TextBeast3_Pro" is "Speedy Clipboard").

SmartTemplates has more functions and the comparison can be found at the bottom of the main page of our web site (https://asbware.com), along with detailed descriptions of each variation. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Al Baran Please note that all textBEAST versions, including SmartTemplates, can function independently on a portable USB drive without installation on the host machine.

The portable version can be created after first installing the software on your computer. It's a convenient way to use your templates and clips anywhere you go.

HJ B It is unclear whether this program works with Microsoft Word. I do not see any reference to that on the developer's website. Is a pdf manual available for this uitility?
