Ken Carlino Michael, for TwistedBrush Pro Studio free updates are included for all updates within the current major version, 19.x in this case. 19.x was just recently released around 1 month ago. The next major release isn't expected for around 1 year. Pixarra typically does aggressive feature development through out the year and those are released as free minor updates. When the next major version is release discounted upgrades are offered to all license holders.

All these brushes, you can buy from your websites (for the open studio-version) are included already in the Pro-Studio, aren't thy?

I saw there is a nice script-record/play-feature. Can the recorded script be edited (in a text editor?) before replaying it. Can it be saved and be used from a command-line call and after all is done TwistedBrush be made to exit (i.e. the control is returned to the command-line), e.g. like in a call
TwistedBrushProStudio.exe -script my_script.scr c:\my_pics\*.jpg
, so this can used from within a batchfile?

Ken Carlino Major releases are about once a year. The high number is because the first few years the license model was per year and not per version so jumping up a number didn't really have the same meaning.

Yes the Pro Studio version includes every brush ever created and will run every user created brush as well.

While the recorded script is stored as a text file it is not designed for manually editing however it is possible and I have done it but it not really an expected usage.

There isn't a command line option to run scripts external to TwistedBrush. However in the future additional automation capabilities will be available. The AutoIt language system is already integrated into TwistedBrush and the plan is to expand this to allow greater level of automation.

for every one being intersted in creative artwork, painting I only can very highly recommend "make use of this incredible great offer". I´m owner of TwistedBrush since verson 2.3 and have never owned a piece of software with such an excellent support and especially a developer who really has picked up such a lot of features suggestions over the year as Ken Carlino has done. I myself had considered to suggest offering the software at bdj in order to make it known better for more persons - But I hesitated because already the regular price of 99$ is very cheap in comparison to other graphic-software and regarding the great capabilities - and so I thought suggesting an additional discount would be inadequate.since the program is much moreworthy.
Especially the brush-engine and over 5000 already implemented natural and unnatural brushes are unique.
I´m owning various other graphic programs (including photoshop and corel painter, coel draw,..), but if I only were allowed to own one of them for creative painting I defenetly would keep Pixarra TwistedBrush.

I highly recommend to make use of the introduction/ tutorials, since the surface of the program partly differs from other graphic-software (especially accessing various tools of the menu bar by right-click). But after a short timne one gets used to it, and then many features can be used intuitively. There are so many features, that you won´t see them all at the first glance., just play araound with them. Look at the feature list, so that you won´t miss features you esxpect but didn´t see at the first glance because of the different user surface.
To my opinion the software covers the needs from amateurs to profesionals.
I´ve really tried a lot of graphic software, but think there is no other software of this kind on the market wth such a good cost-benefit - ratio (even at the regular price) - and the reasonable user policy (no hardware-footprint) is an additional argument for making use of this offer, even if you don´t have revealed all the features within the short time of offering.

additional to the already implemented features of the random brush explorer it would be great to have the possibility to
lock everything apart from the vertical rows 2,3,4 in the brush effects panel,and just randomize the values of a brush effect/envelopes and the values "1-9", since already the change of these values often has a great effect on the resulting brush.
Best would be the ability to automatically generate sytematically brushes with changing these values and previewing the resulting brushes - perhaps this meay be realized in a future version?
Thank you a lot for creating such a great creative piece of software and improving it in close touch with your customers.

Regarding the random brush explorer, perhaps you have seen in version 19 the ability to randomize Pro brushes. If you are familiar with editing brushes at the effects level you can take any brush add a Pro UI control element for any effect and then randomize that brush from the Brush Control panel. This allows for finer random adjustments to brushes whereas the Random Brush Explorer is adding new effects therefore often creating entirely new brushes.

We're sorry about the lack of PayPal, unfortunately it's a problem with Plimus, the payment provider that the software vendor uses. Due to a recent dispute they no longer allow affiliates to provide PayPal as an option.

H. H. As a registered user of pixarra twistedbursh (since version 2.3) I really would highly (!) recommend to take advantage of this great offer by pixarra. For less than 40$ the customer gets a unique piece of software, which has nearly countless possibilites regarding creative painting and artwork. more than 9000 brushes and excellent possbilities to create addional own ones, and of course many image-editing feature (look at the description and examples of the homepage of pixarra) - I didn´t find any other piece of software having such excellent abilities - and all that at an unbeatable low price (compare what e.g. corel painter costs (I´m also owner of corel painter, photoshop and studio artist), but regarding creative painting - to my opinion - pixarra is by far the best. Not to forget the close touch between the developer and the community, which has leaded to the implementation of maný feature requested by users in the past and continous improvement of the software.
As I already posted at last bdj offer I´d recommend to have alook at the help-system and the video-tutorials, since you my not "discover" all of the features at the first glance - nevertheless, it does not take a long time to get familiar with the userinterface and it really is nice to "play2 and work with the program

VLM Sounds wonderful. My question: I am not an artist, not a graphic designer. However, I often wish to clean up photos, maybe work a bit with the fonts in a graphic, create marketing flyers, things like that.

Honestly ... is this product way overkill for someone like me? Or is part of the feature set well-suited?

I would appreciate anyone's input, whether developer or user.

Ken Carlino TwistedBrush Pro Studio is a general image editing software package so it can accomplish all those things. At the start it was first developed for digital painting and therefore is perhaps strongest in that area. The capabilities for photo editing was added next and finally other general abilities for graphic construction with features such as Clips and very robust clip pasting. Or stated another way, it is well suited for any 2D bitmap image creation and editing.

H. H. I´d highly recommend this wonderful piece of software to anybody who likes painting - natural painting tools as well as experimental and creative tools. Additionally to the huge number of inbuilt brushes one can create own brushes with ease - using random brush explorer or image-brushes. Apart from the more than 8000 brushes there are many possibilities for using the software - photo retouching, (filters), cloning, creating patterns and textures, but also possibilities kids and adults may like (e.g. mandala - and fractal brushes, brushes for painting trees and plants,...) and many many other functions.
Since the handling may differ from some other software, I´d recommend to
h a v e a l o o k a t t h e u s e r g u i d e s, in order to "discover" the capabilities faster.

I´m customer of pixarra since version 2.3 and standing in no relationship with the company at all, But this piece of software and the continous development (developer being in close touch with users, many features user requested have been implemented over the time), reliable support,, .. really have convinced me, so that I write this comment.
For just 39$ one gets functions one would have to pay much much more buying various other products (and even at the normal price of 99$ to my opinion it would be unrivaled.
I´m also owner of corel painter 12, photoshop cs5 and other graphic software, but pixarra twistedbrush is the one, I use and like most of all.
Additionally positive: no userunfriendly hardware-footprint (or even worse monthly subscription model). Pixarra has lifetime support and an active community (you may check the forum site of pixarra)

Rich OBrien The TwistedBrush gallery contains a diverse collection of beautiful art -- the best I've found associated with ANY software. The only way TwistedBrush Pro could be better is if they produce a how-to guide with a hundred TwistedBrush Pro users explaining and showing exactly how they used the many tools of TwistedBrush Pro to producer each of their masterpieces.

Ken Carlino @Chris. TwistedBrush Pro Studio does run on Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 should automatically install the DirectPlay components needed. Please see this link for some details about this.

The management of DirectPlay components is entirely controlled by Windows. You may want to ensure you have automatic updates enabled for Windows.

TwistedBrush Pro Studiov.18.18 but haven*t recieved any key via mail, also not in spamfolder. :(

At this time a Mac version is not planned. However, it is something that has been considered. It is more likely a cross platform (mobile / desktop) alternate solution from Pixarra would appear before a pure port of TwistedBrush Pro Studio to the Mac platform.

With regards to comparison to Painter I will let others provide feedback on that. You may also get good information regarding this from the Pixarra forum at forum.pixarra.com. You could search for Painter there and read some topics related to that.
