rodken "It doesn't support Responsive Web Design".
I am wondering if this has been fixed? I am only asking because this would be useless otherwise, so I am assuming (ya I know:) that it has been fixed.

Todd User Just like others on the older comments, it said the serial number is incorrect. I cut and pasted it straight from the e-mail they sent me, and used the edition they said to look for.
Given all the problems people seem to be having, I'd say there's something very wrong with this registration process!! Is it worth the hassle? Apparently, I'll never know!!

Ed Lamaster I already had an account with them, and so the reg program asks for my email and password. It then says I was successful, but loops back through the registration over and over.

Incomedia User @Todd User - you will not receive any serial via email. Please, just click on the the Button "Get it for free" and follow the online instructions. The serial of WebSite X5 Home 12 will automatically be generated by our Server. The entire procedure is performed inside the installation / registration window. The program will be immediately active and can be used.

Todd User @Incomdeia User- I have already done everything you asked. I registered on your site. I sent the confirmation e-mail. I received a code that I was supposed to enter in the program's registration with my e-mail address. When I did that, it told me the serial number was incorrect. What more can I do??

The program is NOT immediately active, it tells me the serial number is wrong and won't let me proceed with the installation!

I will not be near my home machine until after BDJ's offer ends. Will I be able to try any of the advice you've provided others, or am I simply out of luck thanks to your "registration process"?

Max User The registration process is so convoluted, its like being caught in a maze.

I got a registration code but have no download link to the program.

If the program is as badly designed as the registration process, it'll be a real POF.

J User No download available - "To view this page a licence of WebSite X5 Evolution or Compact is requested." - I enter my license on the site, and nothing happens, not even an error. I'm fairly sure this is the exact same thing that happened last time this software was offered, not sure I ever even got a download, let alone a registration.

BTW, there IS NO DOWNLOAD LINK in the email verifying registration, and it's been about 25 minutes since i got my "registration key" (working for anyone??)... next idea?

Ed Lamaster @ Incomedia User: I have no problem logging into the website, and can even see my code listed in my profile on your website as of today, so I know that the part on your website worked:
"WebSite X5 Home 12 Registered on 2016-04-19 12:48:35"

The problem is that when I go to the registration screen (the one that comes up with the executable imRegister.exe), it takes my username and password fine, goes through the registration process, and then loops back and starts over. I've created a short movie of it here:
http://www.screencast.com/t/WZRkOjIaGak5

It never goes to the program to launch it. I'm on Windows 10 64-bit.

I've tried this running the imRegister.exe and WebsiteX5.exe executables, both as a regular user and as administrator.

Cool User Download, installation, and registration/activation went smooth like butter.
I hope people would just read carefully what the email instructs them to do.

Quill Pen We share Cool's dissatisfaction! At first glance, WebsiteX5 struck me as rudimentary and not at all user-friendly crippleware, meaning you only get a pre-set portfolio of page templates. Custom Library and Create Your Own tabs are disabled and you are met with more ads to upgrade to "Evolution."

I suspect that will elicit a BAH HUMBUG from many who may give up instead of pushing onward to navigate options that are not presented in a familiar, standardized, INTUITIVE tabbed format atop a real edit page. With WX5, you're stuck with an odd side nav bar and several disparate pages of options for customizing text, menu creation, header/footer design, etc. The big problem IMHO is that basically, instead of a drag/drop editor where you can easily see your product take shape, you have to constantly guess how things will look. So, BAH HUMBUG Perhaps there's an option to open a secondary window (would benefit from a widescreen monitor) so you can instantly see changes? You'd ideally need that anyway to see how radically different your site will appear in various browsers, another design necessity I didn't see available.

Although increasingly popular, there is just no excuse for downloading an "installer" that then has to phone home (delay due to being blocked by firewall) so it can download part of a program while the guts remain stored on-line. This GUI is yet another proprietary shell designed by programmers who are the only ones who'll know where things are hidden, where nothing - templates, help, etc. - are downloaded but are held at the vendor's site, requiring an internet link. BAH HUMBUG We've never been fans of proprietary non-standard GUI's and loathe on-line help, especially when it's more of a "guess what subject we've hidden a possible answer to your question" FAQ format. We prefer richly detailed truly INTUITIVE drag/drop WYSIWYG HTML editors that a layperson can use OFFline, including an OFFline, very detailed HELP folder.

The idea of being joined at the hip to a proprietary system - where WX5 is portal/gatekeeper to your webpages - is quite off-putting. WX5 (and Google) get to sniff and beaconize everything you do and tag everyone who visits and (possibly) to have access to personally identifying and financial info visitors may input to your site. How can a web designer offer a credible privacy policy to visitors if he/she isn't in control of it? Please feel free to correct me if my cursory review is incorrect.

RichU Unable to register at their site. On the first attempt, I did not put a check mark in the little box for Privacy at the bottom of the screen, and I believe the registration dialog just gets in a loop from there, probably something about the way the capture logic and the registration logic interact.

Ed Lamaster I understand the need to protect intellectual property, but this registration scheme goes too far in creating user dissatisfaction. It removes any possibility of wanting to buy the full product since a reasonable person would expect to experience the same problems. I doubt the effort to dissuade pirates (who don't buy anyway) is worth the lost sales opportunities from the registration problems.

Kyle user I got this offer when the first offered it about two weeks ago, but wanted another copy for another computer because it was so great. Again, downloaded it from the link, installed and registered with no issues. Installed on Win 7 Ultimate the first time, and the second Win 7 Home Premium. It is a really neat program for build a website using basic templates and with easy access to images. While I usually don't like having to register on a website for access, this site has some really neat "stuff". Basic but useful. If I have a complaint, it is that the selectable templates are very small and I couldn't really see the full functionality until I had selected and installed it. But then again, this was fun and educational, because I was able to play with lots of different layouts! I would give this software a try and keep it as a backup when you need to throw together a site with no thought or with little knowledge of web programming.

Sarvesh I successfully installed and activated on my Laptop. Thanks!! I need a few clarifications:-

1. Its showing my software is not up to date and an update is available viz. 12.0.6.25 . Can I update or should stick to 12.0.5.22 which I downloaded?

2. Its mentioned that I can install it on 2 computers.

a) Should I install on another machine now or can I install later also?

b) My Laptop is dual boot - so installing on both OS on same machine will be counted as 1 or 2?

3. If I ever reformat my machine can I re-install and get activated or I will loose the software?

Thanks!!

Software Babe I had to uninstall this as there are limited FREE templates available or you can create your own so to me that says that this software doesn't do what it claims, at least not FULLY. FrontPage does a better job even tho it is Microsoft.

I was a Professional Web Designer and this software is only half functional. BOGUS.

Trond Ruud you can't activate the program before you click a link in the email they say they''ll send you, that's OK, but I have waited all evening for that mail, so I suspect they're just using this as a way to get email addresses to people interested in web editors. Hardly worth the effort to download and install.
