Does a person that buys the program outright have to install within a few days of purchase, and would they have to contact the publisher for a new code to simply reinstall the software again?

VLM Although it seems out of fashion today, I have a question about functionality. In the product description, above, it says:

This SOUNDS like the software decodes through industry-standard encryption schemes ... bit it doesn't come right out and say so. Is this the case?

Also, does this mean that one can CHANGE the region code? Drop certain portions from the copy (like legal stuff)?

@Jay - I'm not from the developer, but if you have a paid license, I would imagine that you could just download the current trial version from WinX's site and use your registration code for minor updates. Contact their support to be sure

What type of "problems" are you anticipating that there might be with MPEG 2? If anything, any problems that might occur would be with MPEG 4, since it compresses video (and possible audio too, but I'm not sure about that). MPEG 2 is the industry standard format for DVD's...in fact, when you put a DVD into your PC's DVD drive and look at it with Explorer (or whatever file manager you use), all of the .vob files you see are really .mpg (MPEG 2) files in disguise.

Netpilot > @Jerry - WinX DVD Copy Pro is basically a copy program that knows how to deal with copy protection schemes and scratched/damaged originals, not so much a converter, so I doubt that it will compress an original dual-layer ISO to a 4.7GB DVD. One thing you can do, however, is see if you can remove unneeded files (like the UOPs, director's cuts, etc.) from the ISO file if it's just a little too big. How big was your download?
I agree, it will not convert DVD9 to DVD5. It will only copy them.

@VLM - MPEG2 is OK, but Apple stuff (iPhone, iPad, etc.) only likes MPEG4 (MP4). If you need MP4 conversion software, you can download WinX DVD Ripper Free Edition at:
http://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-ripper/
Ripper Free only appears to rip (convert) from DVD drives, not ISOs or DVD files copied to a hard drive. I haven't tried it, but if you are starting with an ISO file, I imagine that you can use WinX DVD Copy to mount the ISO as a virtual DVD drive and use Ripper to read from the virtual drive and convert it to MP4 or many other supported formats.

sb84 I downloaded and installed the app. I opened the app. so I could register it but no place to register!?!? I went to help file and it said to click on the "key" link but that doesn't show up on app. screen. How do I register this app.? Am I missing something here? Thank you.

Molly_Digiarty @Steve Baltic - The key icon is on the top left, just under the software name WinX DVD Copy Pro. If you still cannot find, please close quit the program then run it again, a register window will pop up. There you can copy/paste the license to activate it.

Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned in my first message, the key icon DOES NOT appear on the app. screen. Not in the top left corner or anywhere else. Then I closed and re-opened the app. I did the same with my browser and re-booted as well. Still no key icon. Then I went to the "About" pop-up and it says Licensed Copy. So I presume that means it's already registered and I DO NOT have to use the registration code I received via email. Is this correct??? Thank you.

Thomas Edwards Constantin, many thanks for your response - I did not expect any action on your end. Anyway, to amplify, I was in Mexico and we did have a lot of trouble with intermittent router/ wi-fi connection so perhaps that was the root cause (but there are no entries matching your name or email address for this promotion) which would account for your being unable to trace my transmission. I do not think I got past my attempts to order and no response . Maybe the promotion will be repeated again.

Downloaded and installed the software during the promotion. I am in the process of migrating to a new computer. I am attempting to re-install the program on the new computer using the registration code I received via email during the promotion, but this time to no avail. I have already "de-registered" the program on the computer I am moving away from. Any chance you could guide me through this?

Formal DeHyde This is another offer of older software version given in order to get you to buy an upgrade. I guess I was attracted to try it for the 100% off.
Not only that but during install it pops up their website and offers a "free" video converter--however after you waste time downloading it, the offer is said to have expired April 7th (since this is January clearly their site has some issues!), and again they try to get you to buy something.
My recommendation, buy a copy of AnyDVDHD--reputable software that works well and does not come with scams.

feral1 I concur. Free usually implies that which is normally paid for is free for a period of time for possibly very good purposes for the one offering the deal. When free is just a hook for future upgrades knowing that they are required it is not free and a user will certainly feel no obligation to promote it knowing it is not free to them. This is just an introductory offer to a software that by its own description requires continuous updating obviously not free. I'm checking my thesaurus now to see if free and hook are synonyms. Nope they aren't.

VLM I am curious ... why does the program require a system restart? (Win 7 x64) This requires me to shut down a TON of work-in-progress, which really creates a problem with the 7-day requirement. I didn't mind the requirement ... until I discovered the impact due to the restart requirement. THAT would make this a very expensive proposition.

VLM I'm looking at your whole product line. I guess I just don't know enough to figure this out, but ... what's the difference between Copy Pro and Ripper Platinum? Is there a comparison page somewhere?

Also, is it possible to do a trial of either product? I have some copy protected, commercial DVDs, and I'd like to make backup copies. I don't care if the trial is limited to 2 minutes (or whatever) of video, if you can do 2 minutes, then you can do the whole thing, of course. I just wish to know ... before I buy.

FYI, the copy protection scheme used on at least one of the DVDs is CSS/CPPM.

More FYI ... I only wish to make a backup copy in iso format. I'm not stealing any content.

It is only with your website it has a problem.

Beth P Exactly! I was able to download AND install. There's just no place to put in the registration code. In addition, the installed software displays a "Registered" blurb. I don't want to sit on it only to have it crash in 7 days.

Charles G I followed your link to Digiarty's website to learn the version of the software and it says V3.6.3 Apr-23-2014. It seemed to be a nice improvement on the V3.6.1 giveaway that I already had on my system, so I ordered and installed it. Bad idea! Today's giveaway is actually V.3.4.7, from last November. The installer didn't even warn that it was overwriting a NEWER version.

Did I download the wrong file? If not, is there a way to get my V3.6.1 back? Thanks for your help.

David Martin Constantin I have no trouble with Java or Javascript on other sites. I was trying to download it with a Mac and planning to copy the installer it to my Windows machine and install it there when I physically get to that machine again. Could this cause the problem, that Mac's treat Java differently? I remember there was an issue between Sun Java and Apple Java awhile back, but I thought that was solved.

Also is there a way to waive the seven day issue? I am not sure if I will even be at my Windows machine again within seven days.... it might be 10 or even 14 days, so even if I am able to download it perhaps it won't do me any good.

Doug Brown I don't always want to install a program straight away. As such when I see it's a 7 day installation limit I just pass on it now. If they vendor insists on this 7 day requirement I don't see how they can call it a full product. It is in effect a promotional version and should be advertised as such.

Skye Hook New problem- I can't make it accept the reg code. Tells me it's an invalid code. Jeff Quade Problems with the registration code email! The email that arrived after I completed the checkout process had a clearly-shown yellow area that should have contained the registration code I'll need for the installation - but the yellow area is BLANK. There is NO text in the box: select/copy/paste does not produce any text.

Strangely, it never asked for nor provided any place to enter the registration code - on first run it popped up a box saying it was an unregistered version with a "click here for more information link." I clicked that and was taken to a page where I could purchase the product from the vendor.

But when I alt-tabbed back to the program that box was gone, and when I clicked the little "human" icon I got a box saying it was fully registered! I closed the program and re-launched it, and the first box never appeared - but the "you're fully registered" message is still there. It seems to have registered itself!!

Anyway, I'm good, and I appreciate your help. I'm happy you entered your comment above, too, 'cause I wondered where that extra email came from!

Jeffrey Donner There is "definately Multiple issues with this program... 1st... I had the same issue... nowhere to register code given... I TRIED to copy 2 DVD'S to hard drive BUT... WinxDVD Copy only goy to 99% on 1st one and stayed there over 15 minutes... On the 2nd movie it got only to 77% and went nowhere...

John Amrein I have this program and the problem is, it will not copy to one Disk.
Most movies are more then 4300 MB and that is the Maximum (DVD-5).
What this program needs is a Compression feature. It doesn't have this.
Most people have a DVD Movie
and want to make a back up to a single disk, in case the original is damaged.
The Company acknowledge the problem and may add this later, but not now.

The description you quoted is for WinX DVD Copy, which supports DVD compression, but not support new DVDs.
Here the program we promoted is WinX DVD Copy Pro, which doesn't support DVD9 to DVD5 compression. It only support DVD9 to DVD9, or DVD5 to DVD5. It supports lasted DVDs.

btw, WinX DVD Copy is an old program which we've stopped upgrading.

John Amrein I bought this version 3.6.5 and it will not create, from a DVD 9,
( more then 4300mb Movie) to a DVD 5 single Disk. It has no compression.
It is useless to Copy a standard Movie.
The Company said six months ago, they will add Compression.
I am sill waiting.

Constantin Florea @wts, The giveaway code is supposed to work only with the giveaway item which is "WinX DVD Copy Pro". The reason the download for "DVD Ripper Platinum" is added in the receipt email is because of an issue in our system which puts in there all download URLs we add for that promotion. In this case we had to add the download URL for "DVD Ripper Platinum" in there because "DVD Ripper Platinum" is offered as a cross-sell and customers can easily try it before purchasing.

Toni User I have had this program for years...
There is not any noticeable changes during the "updates" and they seem not to even tell what is being updated.
I even translated the program for them,into my own language since my father does not speak english,but they never included the translation in the program which is quite sad, eventho i did get a free license back then for that version...

Pros:
It copies most of the DVDs you want to backup.

Cons:
Does not compress DVD9 into DVD5 ..you have to use something else for that.

Richard Blake I do not see, either here or on Digiarty website, a description of WinX DVD Software Backup Pack. Is this a collection of products sold individually? Or is it a program for backing up the drive(s) in the computer?
Why is 'for one PC' part of the description? The Fine Print here at BdJ states that the software is licensed per computer, not per user, and may be installed on one computer and one laptop. Does 'for one PC' further restrict Backup Pack to NOT being installable on a laptop in addition to a fixed-location system?

I rarely see this restriction, also listed in Fine Print: "Transfer of a license to another owned computer is not allowed." How many of the products that you have licensed, either personally or at Digiarty, have this restriction? Do you respect it? Does that apply to the 'lifetime' licenses? If so, that must mean the lifetime of the PC on which it is installed, not the lifetime of the licensee.

I do not see the no-transfer-to-another-computer restriction in end-user-license-agreement.htm. Is this restriction in effect only for licenses sold through this BdJ offer?

If these points of language are the fault of carelessness on the part of BdJ staff, I remind you that you have been in operation for many years, during which you have written or edited much copy and viewed many questions and comments from customers, and by now should be able to help a company produce an offering that is free of common mistakes or ambiguities. Digiarty is no novice to BdJ offerings either.

Joe User Install is contradictory. I received the email with the reg code quickly. the email says I must enter the code, but I find no where to enter it and the program says it is registered, but does not say to who. The help file does not open.And the SW wants a reboot before I have finished with Revo tracing the install. Not so sure if this is going to be a reliable piece of SW or not.

Sri User The email with the keys has the downloads for both "WinX DVD Copy Pro" and "DVD Ripper Platinum" with the same license key. DVD ripper platinum is not taking the license key and now went back to a trial version. It wiped the old key and the new key won't work. This is disappointing.

WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe Version: 5.12.1

This Offer is WinX DVD Copy Pro Version: 3.9.0. A DVD Copy Program the other is a Video Converter, They also have a WinX DVD Ripper as well.

d adams I have another Digitary program from another giveaway. I like it and it works well. The only fault is the option to check for upgrades is checked. But it is greyed out so I can not deselect it. So each and every time i start the program I receive a nag screen to update. How can I get rid of this? Does this offering have this option permanently checked too?
