Brenda Adams Is there a problem getting trial out to people who request a link? I've written/no answer back.

ABBYY @brenda Adams, there is a link at the top of the promo box, to the left, for the trial. You will be required to provide some basic information, submit the form, and the download will start. The link should be for PDFT+.

Jacek Dz. Thank you for your reply. I would like to ask you a question - if you're sure the licence is per user not a computer. AFAIK the licence for PDFT 3.0 was per computer, that's why I'd like to make sure before I get PDFT+.

ABBYY @Jacek Dz. The End User License Agreement (EULA) states the software is licensed per user and each user can use the software on two separate computers (home & work).

Let us know if you have further questions.

ABBYY @Jacek Dz., here's the section from the EULA that covers your question:

1.1.1 If you are a natural person, you may install and use one copy of the SOFTWARE on one desktop computer and one laptop computer so long as both computers are owned and used by you. You may not use two copies of the SOFTWARE simultaneously.

Brenda Adams My point was: I did click the link and filled out the form...and got no reply.

FINALLY, I did get email and a link to the retail exe. It just felt like it took forever what with the time clock counting down and all.

Perhaps it would be good to EXTEND the offer? Thanks.

Brenda Adams Findings: Well, I tried to love it. I have experience w/this type of program and was hoping to find a newer/better program than what I have now. (Nuance) NOPE. (And the Nuance program, as I recall, was about the same price.) Sorry. But I'd hate to see people buy this ABBYY program. It's just NOT THERE YET. NOT dependable. Too many errors.

I ran a pdf on this product and also on Nuance PDF Converer Profession 8.1.

ABBYY had too many inaccuracies. Sorry.
Nuance was trustworthy and ABBYY could not keep up.

For instance:
Red Lentil Pâté came out = Red Lenlil Pale?

1 1/2 cups red lentils 1/4 cup olive oil came out =
1 r/2 cups red lentils V4 cup olive oil

More:
Roasted Figs wi th G org
onzo

depending °N tHE SIZE it in everything from salads to pizzas to appetizers. The salsa is a
°f tHE P°LEntA piECES colorful, zesty

Nuance PDF Converter had NONE of these errors. Sorry. I just feel I have to warn people off. You ABBYY guys need to work more on the program. I'll be happy to send u comparisons, if requested.

DroidLuvr It says the end date is 07/18/2014, but the deal pricing and coupon code has gone away. What do we need to do to redeem this offer now?

ABBYY @Brenda Adams, I will be glad to receive documents you tested, please send them to support@abbyyusa.com. I can't believe that our leadind awarded OCR technology provided so many errors, I assume you used wrong settings, e.g. OCR language.
Nuance is a respected company, but we receive a lot of positive feedback for PDF Trasformer+ every day. Our customers love easy interface and power editing tools and send us thankfulness messages.
You should give PDF Transformer+ one more chance and, who know, probably you will join ABBYY-lovers, not haters.

Brenda Adams Yes, that is what I hope to do, more testing. I just wrote to support about how the trial let me run once (did part of a pdf) and afterwards says Trial Has Ended.
I would like to be wrong. I will publicly say so if that is what I find. One test cannot be so drastically off. Must be something I did wrong. Trouble is: I looked and couldn't find any explanation for the difference. Will be happy to test again if I can continue trial. The difference in quality of output was too far off to be reasonable.

Cindy Johnson I ordered this yesterday and paid through Avangate. I received and email receipt indicating the order was received and paid, but there was no information in the email regarding how to download or a license key. I logged back into Avangate and it has the order status listed as pending (still true as of one minute ago). I emailed Avangate support early this am asking why the order is pending and I have gotten no response. I also went through the steps listed above to get a trial and received the email with the link to the trial download, but the link throws a server error: 404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. I tried copying and pasting the link as suggested in the email and I get the same error.

So far I am way unimpressed.

Brenda Adams ABBYY - I *might* have found an explanation for the difference in outputs from competitor and ABBYY product.

ABBYY trial only let me test once and won't let me back in so I can't tell and have to go from memory...but I can see at bottom of Compare It window that the ABBYY output was saved as
Win UTF8. (As I recall, it only offered me two choices for text saves, 8 and 16? I'd hadn't a clue about them, so I choice 8. NOW, I am thinking that the output choice is ONE of the reasons for some of the garbled text as the plain text editor doesn't recognize some letters and converts to odd things.)
IF I had the trial working, I would ask: for plain text output, which setting is optimal? I would then test again and compare output to the Nuance produced document which I *know* what produced on plain text setting.

ABBYY @Brenda Adams, our standard trial we distribute on the web-site is 30-days long. During the trial period you can convert up to 100 pages to all supported formats either PDF files, Microsoft Office formats, E-books formats and TXT files. Both UTF-8 and UTF-16 are cross-platform encodings for plain text, it's kind of industry standards, everything should works fine with any choice. Still waiting for your e-mail with documents you tested, it will help us to resolve your case.

Brenda Adams No, those are Unicode text choices. They will have junk that plain text readers can't deal with.
What setting SHOULD be chosen for plain text. Please extend trial so that I can test your product decently. Thanks.
