Nelson Carvalho Sorry about my English.
Evaluating the following scenario:
1) Two computers. The old and the new;
2) I'd like that the new computer would be the 'image' of the old one (software, operating system, links, desktop, MS Windows registry, etc.);
3) The old computer has two hard drives and these hard drives have partitions each one.
The new computer will be the 'image' of the old one, following the two hard drives and partitions?

Michael Burkley Can you choose which applications will be transferred, or would you just delete the ones you're not interested in using on the new computer (but want to keep on the old)?

Also, it doesn't mention that this works with Windows 10. Does that mean that it doesn't?

Petronius Arbiter II Nelson Carvalho -- This program is rather obviously NOT intended to clone an entire computer, especially the operating system. Without a near-perfect hardware match, this would be technically impossible anyway; for one thing, different hardware usually means different drivers.

As David Lawrie explains at length above, a program like this does not and cannot guarantee to let you "cheat" by paying for non-free software once and then using it on two or more computers at the same time. Legally, you're supposed to pay for two licenses to do that, but if you have, you can use a program like this to transfer program settings and data between computers. (Technically, you can sometimes get away with using just one paid license anyway, as David Lawrie also explains.)

Cloning freeware, donorware etc. should be no problem. I've done it "the hard way" many times: reinstall the program on the new computer, then copy the relevant Documents and Settings folders or files to the same or similar spot on the new computer.

The idea is not to use the same license on two computers, but after copying, format the old computer hd. You're right regarding the drivers. I had not thought of that.

Rodney Henderson Well this program would be great if it were actually free, but it's not. It's just a commercial Trial. if you look at the screen shots which not many people would do I think, in the 11th picture were it has the Upgrade License Code, it states the free version only lets you transfer A TOTAL OF TWO PROGRAMS. No you can not even use it over & over to transfer two at a time, you must buy the full version to do that. I am very grateful for the programs obtained by BitsDujour that are full & free with unlimited use. This program should be listed under Exclusive not Free.

Rodney Henderson: Usually Bitsdujour supplies the license - sometimes the download is pre-registered. So what you get free should be the licensed version.

Trevor Clegg I'm sorry Constantin, but if it's correct what Rodney Henderson is saying about the transfer limit of 2 programs only unless the software is purchased, then it is really bad that you do not make it clear in the offer at the top of the page.

So many of us have our time wasted by searching for and reading online reviews (and these conversations too) in order to make an informed decision on whether to download or not, when all you have to do is tell us EXACTLY what we are getting. It would save so much time and eliminate completely all the negative comments in these conversations, not to mention what it does to the BitsDuJour reputation.

Incidentally, your description at the top of the page does say 100% off the full program at $49.95. If it's restricted then that wording is wrong!

However, please accept my apologies for this rant if Rodney is wrong - and the offer is indeed for the full UNRESTRICTED program.

Marek User Thanks, Constantin, for your explanation. And I do not see any reason for appologizing by Trevor Clegg. Rodney Henderson raised a reasonable question and Constantin’s explanation helped to solve it.

But, please note, that Lewis Ellwanger’s question is still pending an answer fom Easeus.

With all due respect to Constantin, it seems EASEUS has a really poor system of communicating with prospective customers. They want to get promoted, but failed to appoint a competenet representative to give prompt answers over on the promotion day. The result is that eventually it’s our dear Constantin who needs to reply to our questions in lieu of Easeus.

Mario Trzes I still don't get it! What this software really does? I've always taught that there is no way of transfering installed software in Windows systems. In the old DOS days, this was easy, just copied a directory from one PC to the other. But windows installed programs are very embedded on the system. One of the screenshots mentions compatible applications. What this means? So, forgetting the licensing factor, is it possible to transfer, for example, a MS Office, or any give away software that had to be installed before the give away period was over?

Pequi Smith Nelson Carvalho, amigo, what you are looking for is a cloning app. Try Clonezilla or Gparted live. Both are free and both will do exactly what you need, with the advantage that if the new HD is larger, you can resize the partitions on it after or during the clone. But do some doc reading before you begin.

David Lawrie Mario Trzes: This, Laplink's PCMover, Pickmeapp and 2 or 3 others in the past extract the registry entries and associated files and folders for each program you select and copy all of those into the corresponding places on a different PC (or the same one with a new HDD and OS if you wish).

There are some typical restrictions e.g. it's not recommended to try to transfer your firewall/AV. A very few complex programs may fail to transfer. I've use PCMover with very considerable success in the past- a huge timesaver where I've several hundred programs installed.

It's probably easier to reinstall very large programs e.g. big games.

John Oliver Can this program be used to transfer to a 2nd machine if the 2nd machine is actually running on VirtualBox / VMWare or on Parallels on a MAC
providing the software is running on the Virtual Machine and the Virtual Machine is connected to the host machines network?

EaseUS @John Oliver PCTrans supports to transfer from Physical to Virtual. Just current system is Windows, even on Parallels on a MAC, that is no problem.
