JohnPD I have downloaded the trial version of eMailTrackerPro Standard. I can successfully check my web e-mail accounts (Gmail, Live.com), but not my ordinary POP3 accounts using port 110. The error message is: “Problem logging in: Unable to connect to xxx.xxxxxx.xxx.” (Yes, the server address is correct and so is the username/password.)

All emailtrackerpro.com sites (tutorials, support) are unavailable (at the moment). The same is Visualware's home page.

This is far from promising.

NegoDan eMailTrackerPro v10. Standard and Visual Trace IP are great apps. that I work with since 2008. In special eMailTrackerPro v10, (I started with v8) helps you check/verify the authenticity of all emails you got in your Inbox of any email app. you might use. A good example is dating online, beware: that beautiful girl or man might not be the real thing; your kids might not be chatting with real kids at all, but just most dangerous perverted Internet criminals. For this visualware.com, comes with the great solution: eMailTrackerPro v10. Standard and Visual Trace IP! And don't stop here, this is just a beginning, your first free license, the cost of upgrade to future versions is way to infimus to the level of protection is offering to an Individual or an entire Family for that aspect. So yes I declare myself a very happy User/Customer, and follower of this so much carrying and responsible , Companies: visualware.com and bitsdujour.com that's making this great offer today, ironing the avenue to a great relationship between you the Customer and these two Great Companies. Thank you, visualware.com and bitsdujour.com!

Have a number of associates who would like forward to the Mac version...

Jim Buchanan A couple questions:
1) - Is eMailTrackerPro Standard valid until one messes up an d loses it then we have to wait again for it to come? {This is how I see most of the 100% bonus deals we get here. And I expect the answer is 'yes'.}
2 - Is eMailTrackerPro Advanced Edition [bought today for $ 39.96] valid for one year with updates through that year or is it on a subscription basis and we pay yearly? Or is it valid for as long as we have it with updates? [Now thatr would be nice !]

Dan Palmer @johnpd:

Hi John,

We had a lot of server issues yesterday for which I apologize. All the websites should be working for you now.

In regards to POP access: Some services (such as Yahoo Mail) require paid accounts to allow POP access and other services (such as VirginMedia.com) require POP access to be enabled. Please make sure the service you're using is set up for POP access.

I should point out that this promotion is for the Standard edition, which does not include email filtering/POP access. The trial edition of eMailTrackerPro has all features enabled.

If you need more help just fill out a contact form at http://www.visualware.com...equest.php and we can go into more details.

Best wishes

Visualware Inc.

@Danny

Hi Danny,

This promotion is for the Standard edition which is only valid for email tracing, not connecting to your email accounts for spam filtering.

Best wishes

Visualware Inc.

@Paul

Hi Paul,

Yes the license will be transferable between the Mac and Windows edition.

We don't currently have an ETA on the Mac version but we're working on it!

Best wishes

Visualware Inc.

@Everyone mentioned the accounts button

This is a bug and has been reported. The email accounts button should be hidden in the Standard edition as it's only an Advanced edition feature. I can only apologize for the confusion.

Best wishes

Visualware Inc.

@David MC:

You can use the "trace headers" and "trace address" buttons in eMailTrackerPro to perform a trace. Examples on tracing an email header can be found here: http://www.emailtrackerpr...orial.html

Best wishes

@JimBuchanan

The key you receive today will work FOREVER with eMailTrackerPro version 10. No future payments necessary and all minor upgrade will be included (10.0b-10.0c for example). When EMT 11 comes out you can upgrade at 40% off, if you would like.

Best wishes

Dan Palmer Hi All,

eMailTrackerPro can be downloaded from http://www.emailtrackerpr...nload.html, also.

This will open in trial mode which will INCLUDE the Advanced features. To enter your license key go to the Help tab and choose Enter License key. The software will then revert to the Standard Edition.

Again, we are aware of the bug causing the "email accounts" button to still be visible in Standard mode. Please disregard this button, it has been reported to the engineering team,

Best wishes

Jim Buchanan Okay, 8 hours later and no response. I'm going to bed now so don't bother. I was interested in the eMailTracker program and if the Pro Advanced Edition was 'much' better then I was thinking about getting that. It seems like a good deal to me.
My choice and I do not blame you guys.
Thanks for the chance. Great job btw way on all your great deals.

Brian De Bragança Can BitsDuJour PLEASE make it plain in the 'FEATURES' section or in the summary at the top when software requires Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or any DotNET instance, or require the software developer to make this plain before download?

I personally will not allow JAVA (JRE or browser plugins) on my PC and am very wary and careful of allowing DotNET instances, either. I know many other security conscious users who feel the same way.

In the present case, I was not aware of the JRE requirement until I (almost) installed the software. If I hadn't followed usual practice and read every installation screen carefully, I might not have noticed. I can imagine many people just clicking through and allowing JRE to be downloaded and installed.

JAVA - both the runtime environment and browser plugins - is a favourite attack vector of hackers and web villains and is too vulnerable and too rarely patched to be trusted. (DotNET - any instance - is, of course, even worse.)

I will now pass on this software, and will not install it.

John Terdik I just attempted to get the free offer but Facebook is blocking me. I've been requested to verify my Facebook account and per the process Facebook has sent me a verification code to my phone however I have not received the code and requested that it be resent numerous time, they are using the correct phone number for me.
Any idea how I can get around this?
Can I get the deal once the FB issue is cleared?

Constantin Florea @John Terdik - The promotion is running today (31st) as well. If you still cannot participate in the promotion using your Facebook account you may also try to participate by following the questionnaire by clicking on the link at the right which appears just below the Continue button in the pop-up (after pressing the "Get It For Free" button).

peter anon The offer is pretty useless!
It's only the tracer and not the checker (pro) and once you enter the free code, you don't even get the 15 day pro trial!

This is a WASTE OF TIME IMHO

Hi Peter,

If you contact support (http://www.visualware.com...equest.php) they'd be happy to send you an EMT Pro license key so you can continue your trial period. After 15 days we'll remotely cancel the license key and then you'll be free to enter the license key you got here at BitsDuJour.

Rick Truell Brian De Bragança: I don't know who has been jerking your chain, but you have been very badly misinformed. Having the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), the Java Software Development Kit (SDK, which also installs the JRE) or even .NET installed on your computer is no more a security problem than having any of the other runtime libraries installed; in fact, every version of Windows created since .NET was created has installed all the currently-available .NET runtimes, with Windows 7 installing *all* of them except version 4, and I wouldn't be surprised to find that Win8 installs version 4 as well. The *only* way that any of the runtime libraries, or any programs that use them, would be a problem is if they were downloaded and installed *without scanning them with an anti-virus scanner*...and that danger applies to *any* program that you download and install without scanning. Just so you know that I'm not blowing smoke, I have had the JRE and the .NET runtimes installed on my computers for *many* years and I have *never, ever* had a security problem related to them...and I run at least one Java-based program *every single day*. Scan *every* file you download with an anti-virus scanner and you'll have no problems.

Now, the Java browser plug-in is a horse of an entirely different colour, and you're right to be wary about it...although it is actually completely safe to have it installed but *disabled* until you actually need it. The reason the plug-in is more dangerous than the JRE is because applets (the name given to programs that run only in a browser) are downloaded, installed and run in the browser without an anti-virus scanner being able to scan them...if an applet is malicious, by the time the anti-virus scanner gets anywhere near it, it's far too late - the damage is done. But, as I mentioned, simply disabling the plug-in is sufficient to prevent problems.

BTW, your comment about Java being rarely patched is only partially correct. The Windows, Linux and Solaris platforms have been frequently patched all along, since Sun/Oracle have been handling those platforms. However, until recently, Apple themselves have been handling anything to do with Java on the Mac platform...and they haven't been very fast to update/patch it because it wasn't a very high priority for them, since they would prefer that all OS X/iOS programs be written in Objective-C. Apple has now turned over development of the Java runtimes and browser plug-in to Oracle, so the Mac platform will be updated/patched as frequently as the others are.

Brian De Bragança @Rick Truell - You are entitled to your opinion but I know which of us is right. Telling me how to be secure is rather like teaching your grandmother to suck eggs. Let's just say I know whereof I speak, and leave it at that.

I could give you URL links for relevant ESET, Kaspersky and Microsoft Technet blogs, where the issues are discussed, but you can Google for yourself.
