Mike Bleijerveld Hi,

Would it be possible to create a HTML5 application which loads data from an external web server via JSON but also can save changes back to the web server?

Regards,

Mike

Yun Xuan Hi Mike,

Yes it is possible. The HTML5 application just need to visit another URL, or visit the same URL with special parameter to save the changes. The logic of saving changes are mainly done on the server side.

For example, you load user data from server via this URL:
http://www.jasonserver.co...r?uid=1234

And you get user data like this:
{
uid:1234,
fname:Will,
lname:Bill,
age:25
}

Then you can update the user data via another URL:
http://www.jasonserver.co...234&age=26
The server will then save the new age (26) for the user to the corresponding row in database.

Assdfgh Dfgh Hi, this software looks like the Visual basic software, is that true? If not, what's the difference? thanks.

Yun Xuan Maybe the way to drag and drop elements in ForeUI is similar with VB, but they are totally different tools. VB is a tool for application development, while ForeUI is a tool for UI/interaction design and you can output your project as PDF or HTML5. You can use ForeUI to draw the UI of your website or software, and you can also design the interaction of each component. By exporting your design to HTML5, it can be previewed and tested via web browser.

The HTML5 simulation generated by ForeUI can also communicate with remote server, so it could work as a real web app, here are two examples:

Avi Nahir I'm using Balsamiq. Is there any review comparing the two?

Yun Xuan Hi Avi, there may be some reviews, but it is better to try out the tool by yourself. These two tools have quite different features set. Balsamiq is focus on building the low fidelity mockup with simple interaction, while ForeUI can create prototype in any fidelity and can have complex interaction.
