On a day-to-day basis, many of us end up accessing numerous different network connections. Some of us get to actually leave the office, taking our laptops from office location to office location, making sure to check in from any airport or hotel connection we can get our hands on. Others stay in one spot, but log into multiple networks across the globe. Is it any wonder, then, that we sometimes get confused as to what our network connection settings are supposed to be at any given moment?

IP Shifter is a wonderful new application that lets you save multiple TCP/IP profiles and swap back and forth between them as needed. IP Shifter saves your IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway, DNS, and Proxy settings under a profile name that you provide (like 'Office' or 'My House' or 'Pittsburgh') so that you never again have to remember what these settings need to be in order to connect to that location's network.

IP Shifter is perfect for anyone that needs to maintain connections to several networks on a regular basis. You can easily see your current network settings at any time, and just a single click changes your TCP/IP profile so you're good to go without the need to reboot your machine. IP Shifter remembers your proxy settings for your internet browser, so you can say goodbye to all of that fiddling with the browser settings. Plus, there's even support for multiple network adapters, both fixed and wireless!

Benedekfi Endre I tried this software under Windows Vista Business 32bit, but on my laptop don't change the IP address. What is the problem? I don't get error message.
Thank you!

Zheng Qiao * For Windows 2000, user must have administrator privilege.
* For Windows XP, unless administrator, user must be added into "Network Configuration Operators" group.
* For Window Vista, if "User Account Control"(UAC) is on, whatever the user is administrator or not, please run IPShifter as administrator (by right clicking the program and select "Run as administrator"). If UAC is off, same as Windows XP.

Benedekfi Endre Thank You!

On the next version of your software you need to create a manifest to request administration right:
Example:
security
requestedPrivileges
requestedExecutionLevel
level="requireAdministrator"
uiAccess="false"/
/requestedPrivileges
/security
This is my opinion.

Best!

Zheng Qiao Yes, we had thought about it as you mentioned. But some customers hope to run IPShifter as a common user instead of administrator.
Thank you!
