ron r Am I correct that 'My Visual Database' can compile a project to a stand-alone (single?) executable? ('My Visual Database' does not need to be present for the executable to run properly?)
I watched the video, from there I assumed this was possible (at the end of the video).

But to to avoid misunderstanding, I thought I ask.

Dmitriy Ivanov Exactly, the result of your work will be a Windows application that does not require installation and third-party components.

Quill Pen Dmitriy, I only had time to watch the first video (nice touch) and didn't find a FAQ page on your web site during a hasty search, so please forgive if my questions are answered in later vids:
1. Can this be password protected without using an external shell (for instance Folder Lock) and if not, which file(s)/folder(s) should be locked?
2. Is importing lists possible and if so, with what format(s) - txt, rtf, xls?
3. Is exporting results possible and if so, in what format(s)?
4. Does it come with templates and/or the ability to create editable templates so one doesn't have to "reinvent the wheel" by constantly reentering labels and associations?

This would be an excellent aid for parents who home-school, both to track assignments and progress for state recordation purposes but also as a method of teaching children relational thinking. Kids could create so many different simple custom databases.
Thanks!

Kimmo Lahtinen This offer seems to be "test version only" as the upgrades are not allowed (you must pay for them)? Even for minor upgrades?

I wonder what DB engine are you using, I mean can I connect the database to an other program?

You do not seem to offer a cheaper price for other versions.

TESS273 I've tested some sort of your example databases but I can't find partial search function.

For example, if I find the name of "Printer lx-300", I must type the whole name. Your program is very easy to use, but not useful to search.

Thanks.

Klaus -- you'll at least be able to make an informed decision about whether it's worth paying for :)

I've installed it and had a brief play with it. It's certainly not a program for someone without at least a few database skills, I'd have said -- but I really like the idea that it can build standalone executables. So thanks!

Lito Thanks for offering this, I'll definitely give it a try.

Just wondering can I use this program to create a graph of database values I have stored? I haven't really looked into it too thoroughly. So for example, say I search between two dates, and have it display a line graph for all the numbers I have stored between those two dates.

Fraser Gorrie I filled out the questionnaire (really impressed with the simplicity, yet power of this little gem) but it kicked me out of the checkout process. Said it wasn't connected to a purchase, took me to the product list (of 3) where I clicked on My Visual Database and then I was kicked back out to the page I started on.

If I start the process again, is it going to be a problem?

Hawkeye I had logged in earlier and signed up for the deal. I don't have a Facebook account nor do I want one. I answered the questions and I have not received any emails with an activation code. I didn't keep track of the order number.

Is this like previous promotions, should it come from Bitsdujour or the vendor?

Thanks,

PS. I just tried to get the promotion again. It came up and allowed me to hit the resend. I'll check to see if I get this time.

Update, I finally received the email, as the promotion expired. Not sure why it took so long. This never happened before.

Thanks,

Constantin Florea @Furkan User - I have checked by your name and email address from your BitsDuJour profile but couldn't find any associated purchase for this promotion. Did you go all the way with the purchase flow until the web receipt page? If you did, then you must have used another BitsDuJour account because the purchase is not associated with the account you used to post your message. You may send us at notify@bitsdujour.com the email address and name (first name and last name) you used to participate in this promotion.

Fraser Gorrie @Constantin - Thanks for the direct sending of the download link. All is well. Is there a registration code? I am a day late (now) for the promotion so not sure what the state of the software is with regards to registration/activation.

Constantin Florea @Fraser Gorrie - The receipt I resent you contains a registration code. The registration time-frame condition for this promotion is:
"You must install/register the software within 10 days, and cannot do so afterwards."

This is also written in The Fine Print tab in this promotion page.

Constantin Florea @Mappi75, I am sorry about the confusion on my part, the Suggestions section is for titles which are not present in our database with a promotion page. You can click the I Want This button for these as well.

For those titles (such as this one) which do have a promotion page, you can click the I Want This button (at the top of the promotion page) and it will count as one vote on rescheduling the promotion.

Constantin Florea @Mappi75, The vendor is correct. There is no upcoming scheduled promotion for this product. The promotion page you mention is a submitted duplicate but not yet scheduled promotion in our database. When this happens (submitted but not yet scheduled) the system marks it with the "Deal Coming Soon" label because it assumes that at some point it may get to run as a promotion. You can make a difference between promotions which will definitely run and promotions which may run (submitted but not yet scheduled) by looking at the prices. In this case instead of the prices there are question marks.

So:
- if a promotion has the "Deal Coming Soon" and has the prices rendered with numbers then it will run.
- if a promotion has the "Deal Coming Soon" but has question marks instead of the prices, then that promotion is only submitted and will probably run but there is no guarantee that it will run.
