Doug Atkinson I believe the large size is due to the Paragon Recovery Media Builder, which lets you boot up from a CD to a minimal environment in the case of your hard drive crashing. The actual backup software portion isn't bloated. I've registered with Paragon in the past - they don't overwhelm you with SPAM.

Serious Noize @Kayvim lyer, I installed and registered this with no problems on Windows 10. So far I have not ran into any problems or issues.

I have my hard drive backed up to image already with another program so I thought I would give this one a test.

I did a test with it on Windows 10 like this, I created a backup capsule and backed up my hard drive to it, I then deleted some programs off my hard drive as part of the test. After that I used the backup to restore my hard drive to as it was before and got all my programs back, no problems. I also took the time after doing the restore to run a check disk on that drive and it showed no errors. So for me it seems to be working just fine on Windows 10.

While the listing does not directly say Windows 10, it is the compact version of version 15 pro which is listed to work with Windows 10. So for me it's working fine with Windows 10, that's not to say that I might not experience problems later on, or that others will have the same results. But for now, so far so good. At least that has been my experience with the software for now.

Franz User @Serious Noize: "...deleted some programs..." says nothing! The SW will run with W 10 - okay - but can it make a backup of the system-partition at all? If it can not restore the system it´s worthless for W 10.

Constantin Florea @Jose User, Please download the application and install it. While installing it you will be presented with a registration form which will ultimately lead you to receiving the required registration information.

Serious Noize @Franz User : As I said "I made a backup capsule and backed up the hard drive to it" that backup was what I was restoring, which was the System Partition", sorry I should have mentioned that.

The details do not state what version update this is and since the above states "Platforms: Windows XP Home, XP Professional, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1", is there someone from Paragon or BDJ reading these comments who can verify that is the case and save those of us with Win 10 the trouble of downloading this if it is not the most recent update with Win 10 compatibility? Thank you!

Monica User There is a major problem with the purchase of this software. I paid the $50 and only have the free versions in the account. I put in the license code as requested and it added the free versions instead of the pro version.

You may not want to order till it gets fixed.

Paragon Software @ jboy This software supports the mentioned OS. It wasn't tested and made for Windows 10, so there is no official Windows 10 support. But as you can read here, Serious Nouze has tested on Windows 10 without any problems.

@ Monica User, as checkout process is provided by BitsDuJour, only they can help you out here. Hope they read your comment, otherwise, please write them an email with all your purchase data to clarify.

@ S G: Yes, the serial number works for both, 32 Bit installer and 64 Bit installer.

Bruce Just a comment on the Paragon SW company - I have found them to be legitimate and up front about their software offers. I have used several of their various products on several computers for maybe 5 or 8 years now. While they want your email, it is most often used to send the registration info and links and such. I have not had any problem with spamming from them.
(from the BDJ free purchase process: "Your Download Link should arrive shortly at the email address you supplied us. ")

So in short, I can recommend them for you to try their software.
(I have no affiliation with them, am just an independent tech person with several computers (PC & Mac) and lots of software experience...)

Dippy Dawg I have the same problem as Monica. I purchased the Pro version for $49.99 and enter the SN into my Paragon account and it shows up for the free offer here which is Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 - Backup & Recovery Compact. Please send me a valid serial Number for Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 Pro Version.

Tony Ben Hi,
Does anyone know whether you can use this software to restore backups taken by earlier versions of the Paragon Backup product. eg Paragon Backup and Recovery free 2013 and Paragon Backup and Recovery free 2014?
Also, if I move from Paragon Backup and Recovery free 2014 to Hard Disk Manager 15 Backup and Recovery Compact, will I need to create a new recovery media or is it the same as the old one I created under 2014?

c p Hi. I am in UK and have tried to get this software since last night.

According to my BitsDujour account, I successfully 'purchased' Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 - Backup & Recovery Compact - 32 bit on 11 August (approx. 8.45 pm, GMT time).

The receipt for Paragon Hard Disk Manager 15 - Backup & Recovery Compact - 32 bit free version shows in my list of downloaded software.

However, I have not yet received any emails from you to complete the process.
I have checked over and over again, spam included.
I even hit 'resend' several times but still no email/s.
It is now 12 noon next day (Wednesday 12 August) and still no word from BitsDuJour.

I have never experienced any problems before - that's why I like your site so much!

Have I missed something maybe?

Monica User I just got a notice that this is a bitsdujour problem.

If you have purchased the software through BitsDuJour and they didn't deliver the purchased license, then you have to contact them directly, because they are responsible as a reseller to send the data. This is also the same, if you want a refund, then you have to contact the reseller, because you payed him for the software and not us.

Bits please get this fixed asap and have new correct serial numbers to register the $50 paid software or send a refund asap.

If you have specific questions about software, purchasing, refunds or orders please contact the software vendor, not us. There is a link to the Software Vendor's website on every promotion's page.

BitsDuJour does not have access to your sales data, only the individual vendors do!

So it looks like they don't want to deal with this problem either. Who is going to fix the problem?

Constantin Florea There was indeed an issue with the codes for the HDM15 Pro version. The old codes have been replaced for purchasing customers and the associated receipt emails have been resent. If you did purchase HDM15 Pro and did not receive the receipt email, you may do so from your BitsDuJour Purchases page.

According to the instructions in the receipt email, you may use the registration information from the receipt email to create the account in Paragon and download the latest version of HDM15 Pro which can be registered.

Petronius Arbiter II What are the advantages of this program over the built-in backup program in most later versions of Windows? I'm familiar with Norton Ghost 9 on Windows XP, which has several advantages over XP's built-in backup, namely: (a) Compresses the selected partition and everything on it up to >50%; (b) Easy to split large backups into 650MB, 4.4 GB etc. for burning to optical disk; (c) Easy to restore a single file, or just a few files, and to restore to a different location than the original.

Now, as it happens, I'm kind of late to the game on Windows 7, just getting used to it, have downloaded the Win 10 upgrade but not installed it yet. I've installed Norton Ghost 15 on my Windows 7 computer but not so sure how well it will work on Windows 10. And Norton no longer supports Ghost, too bad. For that matter, I don't really understand what are all the features of Windows Backup for Win 7.

I would be much more enthused about trying out the Paragon 15 Compact version if I had a better idea about how this compares to what comes pre-loaded with all newer versions of Windows.

Jim Buchanan I've read a the comments and have a few questions and only a short time to get the answers I'm afraid.
1 I have two computers to work on. Can I download both versions (32 and 64 bit)?
2 Will the reg key be the same for both or different considering they will be on separate computers?
3 Do I have to buy the full version today or can it wait for a day?
4 If I buy the full version, are there any updates that will be given for free once Win 10 is fully ready (that is after a lot of MS's own updates) or would I have to pay all over again for a working version in Windows 10?

S G I have been using the free version Paragon for many years.

I generally image with more than one program since I have had times where some unknown issue has caused a failure when restoring with one program on a machine, but an image made the same time with another program works fine.

Paragon is the only program that always seems to restore 100%. Granted, I have not yet tried this version, so you never know.
