Usually you only find this in antivirus programs, and even there the AV program usually keeps on working, just without new updates.

ami kapi I am to repeat many times: no matter what one offers as the giveaway, this should NOT be time limited usage - the offer should be unlimited, eventually with no free upgrades... there are tons of same or better quality freeware. If you offer giveaway, with lifetime duration, this simply means, one can test it to see with the time, if it really provides for what is sold out (i.e. if this is brand, or brand on the nick market, or, is it just repainted pale functionality on the super saturated field). Many programs offer much, but later, one finds: bugs, crashes, bloatware, virus halts, uncontrolled outgoing traffic to the net, etc. etc.
Shrotly: give it for liftetime, or, just do not offer at all..

Mark Chiang Thank you for this giveaway, and for the 50% off sale - however I noticed the registration email says, after stating upgrades are free for 12 months:

So it sounds like it will cost less to upgrade later than buy the full version now...? If that's the case it's like there's more incentive to wait than buy now!

Tim Hade Enable Java-script?
Java script is enabled and I am still getting that msg. Click on the Get it free link and all it does is indicating page load, right click to take it to another tab, it comes up with enable Java Script.
Dang sure works on the "buy" page though

Hell, I likely would have bought it for the price it is being offered at, if didn't like it better than what I already had, I could give it to one of the kids.

Eustace Phenackertiban There appears (I hope) to be a misunderstanding WRT to 12-month license. Does that mean that you can use it for 12 months, with full access to any upgrades during that time, then after that time the software continues to work as is, but one must pay (a reduced price) to access upgrades beyond that 12 months?

Or, does it mean that after 12 months there is a kill switch and the software ceases to function at all?

If the latter, then this is simply a time-limited demo, something which is not typically offered on BDJ. Please clarify. Thank you.

Constantin Florea @Tim Hade - Could you please try another browser like IE, Chrome, Firefox or Opera with the browser cache deleted? The issue you mention (not the Javascript issue) may be caused by browser add-ons/extensions which you have installed and which may interfere with the purchase flow.

Cooler @Jackie, no need for sarcasm. If you really think about it, time limited version is actually more like "extended tryout period" than free.

Time limited use for subscription service, yes.
Time limited use of software, no.

Of course, there are 12 months worth of updates with this, but I prefer "free" software without usage limited by time. Even when it's non-updateable software.

So, thanks to WinISO Computing Inc. for this, but I'll skip this.

Mark Chiang I had the Javascript message too under Chrome, but I have Ad Blocker Pro on there so I'm guessing it's a pop-up issue and it worked under Firefox.

Stefan Hauber About the functionality: If I understand it right, WinISO is able to load an ISO-file and I can remove/add files to it. Right?

I suppose the main-sense of creating an ISO file out of a DVD (instead of just copying the files) is, to keep the internal structure of the DVD. So e.g. if a program on it tries to read a certain section of the dvd to verify it's content, this must be possible too with the ISO-file.

So, when editing the ISO by removing some files or adding some, can I define a region inside the ISO-file (e.g. Track 0-10), which is sacrosanct, i.e. which WinISO should not modifiy?

Can WinISO also simulate errors? I suppose, some software-vendor delivers CDs/DVDs explicitely with errors on certain blocks and to check out, if the original CD is inserted, they try to read these blocks, to find out, if there still are (the same kind of) errors and they stop executing, if these are not there.

Is there any difference, what WinISO can or can't do in comparison to DaemonTools, which, if I remember right, is about the same object. (Or WinMount?)
