jack hath So what happens if your key is destroyed?

I've had USB drives meltdown in the USB socket.

Does the program enable there to be more than one Physical Key assigned to a computer --- Multiple designated Keys?

What about a recovery method if keys are lost or fail?

Thomas Klabunde Hi!
I would like to take a brief look at last year's questions.

- A combination of hardware key and PIN / password are possible.
- Multiple keys can be created for a Windows account. Simply create a new account in the settings.
- Alternatively, an emergency password, the so-called SecureID, can be generated for each account.
- The software can be used from Windows XP to Windows 10 on any Microsoft operating system.
- If the Windows password has been changed or deleted, the software detects this and asks for the new password.

Further questions are welcome.

Gunderic Hagen Time ago I downloaded abylon UAC-GRABBER (also $0 cost) and messed up my PC. The specialist who fixed it confirmed to me the software had malicious code. Not good.

Thomas Klabunde Hi Gunderic Hagen,
this is very unlikely. We and BitsDuJour guarantee that our software does not contain viruses, trojans, adware or any other malicious software. This can always be checked via the link "Virus Scan". Here, B. http://www.bitsdujour.com...virus-scan
We know, however, that many virus scanner providers make it very simple and say that all unknown and non-paid registered program as malicious software.

Gunderic Hagen The company fixing my PC has 1st class technicians. They told me it took a long time to determine the fact that said app was the culprit and it indeed had malicious code. Furthermore, they added they hadn't seen a case like this in a long time, which was not somehow flagged by regular antivirus.

Regarding BitsDuJour, I don't think they are to blame because I doubt they have the expert tools to determine it. The website http://download.cnet.com/ which is quite big has been found in the past to promote apps. with a virus, something they were not aware of, despite their assurances to the contrary.

I have no interest in hurling empty critiques at your Co, and I also don't know whether the app you are offering today for free also has malicious code.

Pam R Gunderic, I use UAC-GRABBER from an earlier giveaway and it does NOT contain malicious code. I've been a programmer since 1972 and know how to tell. The only thing that makes sense is that you had some other malware that infected UAC-GRABBER after it was downloaded. That's not abylonsoft's fault.

Kelly Girt to
Gunderic Hagen:

AS ALWAYS i suggest to tend towards caution, but I myself would lean towards thinking your experts may have been mislead by the type of work/programs created by Abylonsoft. Considering the unique changes it requests from a computer's OP system, The code would look suspicious to any researcher looking to find an unknown answer to a computer problem, even to veteran specialist.
Like mechanics and doctors, they tend to fall on using deductive reasoning of elimination and conclude what is left to 'probably' be the most logical answer or fault. I don't blame them for this, because it is their paid duty to GIVE an answer, Otherwise, they'll seem like failures to be discredited. The uniqueness of these types of software would fall under the category of "Must be this weird thing". "Job well done, you can pay us now" -Humorous, yet true...

Gunderic Hagen The diagnosis of malicious code was not made by a "friend" or someone who knows "something" about virus or malicious code. The expert technicians who detected the malicious code are professionals working for a company whose technicians have "seen everything under the sun" and who carry out internal consultations in case of doubt. I already mentioned the example of a big website who has had similar problems promoting the download of apps. with malicious code. UAC-Grabber DID have malicious code. How it got there, I do not know and at this point, I don't care.

Each one can believe whatever he/she wishes. I have NO ax to grind vis a vis this matter.

Thomas Klabunde Hi Robert,
Thank you for your request.

There are no differences in the range of functions between the free and the paid version.

However, the free version may only be used on private computers. In addition, support is limited and update discounts are lower.

Further questions are always welcome.

Toto Here is what happens to me with this soft: i can't read most of the text in the interface without hovering the mouse on it:

https://image.noelshack.c...nlogon.png

Also, some of the instructions are not even translated to english (from german).
Difficult to trust this program under these conditions.

(Windows 10 Pro x64 build 15063)

Edit: i'm using WindowBlinds to reskin Windows. If i unload it, i can see the text, though some text is black on dark grey: no very readable. If I add SALSetupX64.EXE as an exception in WindowBlinds, it's still not readable.

Thomas Klabunde Hi Toto,
that's a strange problem. Have you made any changes to the Windows color settings? Normally, the left column and top row should be dark grey. The font color is light grey, so you can't read anything.
Or is there something wrong with the. NET framework?

Sorry I don't have a better solution.

EDIT:
I've only just read your correction.

Maybe you can also include our other exe-files in the exception:
SALogonX64. EXE
SALServiceX64. EXE
SALCtrlSerX64. EXE
AdminCallX64. EXE

Peter Laszlo Looks interesting, BUT what happens if no logon screen is used.
As no one else has access to my systems, I automatically log in as administrator and that is it.
My laptop is set up similarly, but I would not mind this type of security just in case.

Taking the worse case scenario, what if the laptop is stolen. This has happened once when the actual security guy on the X-Ray machine opened my suitcase after it went through the machine and it took him about 1 minute to remove the laptop. Once the drive is removed, then it is not protected, unless the complete drive is encrypted.
So, does this type of security protect my laptop????

Thomas Klabunde Hi Pter Laszio,
many thanks for your inquiry.
It's just that Windows can't really be protected against cracking the Windows logon password. If you have access to the laptop, it won't cause a user with technical knowledge any major problems. The login password can be cracked in a few minutes on Win 10, for example.
For such cases only a full encryption ala VeraCrypt helps. Alternatively or additionally important files should be encrypted with an encryption software from abylonsoft or from an alternative provider.
The software abylon LOGON is rather for the case that you want to use a highly complex Windows password, which helps before access, for example, over the Internet. Also in companies or medical practices, our software is often used. The administrator can assign a complex password for access without having to pass it on to Unser. He simply distributes the corresponding chip cards (or similar) and issues them to the employees. They can simply log on with the chip card (or similar) without entering the complex password. As additional security, a PIN can be assigned to implement a 2-factor authentication.
If you have further questions, please visit our homepage (www.abylonsoft.com/logon/) or use the support form.

Kenneth Bates Same old story - Windows Defender blocks the download due to lack of popularity.

Time and time again I get this message - only AFTER paying for the product. It would be a great help to many people if BDJ could ensure that offers are genuine and not leave users out of pocket.

Thomas Klabunde Hi,

@Kenneth Bates & @Rob User: We create an individual setup for each coverount. So also here at BitsDuJour a new setup is created. This is of course still unknown for the virus scanners. These are up to the registration exercise routine identically to the officially offered product on our homepage. This step is necessary, however, because otherwise this setup is offered via crack sites. This is neither in the interest of BitDuJour nor us as software developers.

@sine User: I can't say anything about that now. Please contact BitDuJour directly.

Kenneth Bates I have received another offer to purchase this software from one of the people replying to my first comment. That may be OK for some but the same thing could happen again. I disabled the part of Windows Defender which blocked my attempt to download, rebooted, then tried again but another element of Windows Defender still blocked it. I would have disabled the whole of Windows Defender except that it is integral to Windows 10 and could cause more problems. Paypal sent my payment to Cleverbridge AG who are now obliged to find a way of completing the contract.

RichU For those who are blocked by windows, there is usually a small link on the warning page that allows you to bypass the message and complete the download. It is not an obvious link, but it is there on the warning page if you know to look for it. Hope this helps someone.
