What are people saying about Any Video Converter Ultimate

Brian H Hi- I like and use these types of programs, and like many I am "always looking for something better" that comes along for this function; but having said that there are so many programs like this out there today (really too many to even keep track of) which leads me to ask the developer what they feel sets this program apart fork the others and perhaps gives it a competitive edge. The price seems very reasonable and the company behind it is well-known so these are definitely two pluses, as I see it. Just wondering what else might set it apart and make it different or better than similar products. The product in this category that I am most familiar with is Clone DVD/AnyDVD from Slysoft, BTW. Thanks. -Brian

Mitch Kite Can "Any Video Converter" rip Blu-ray discs?
Jan 11 2012 at 8:07am Copy Link

Anvsoft Support Dear Mitch,
Sorry for the delayed reply...
I am sorry the Any Video Converter can not rip blu-ray discs until now. Because we have other software like Any Blu-ray Copy for that. But we have future plans for adding this, it will be realized in the future versions. Anyway, thanks for mention that and our research team will work harder on that.

Brian H Hi Everyone- wanted to let you know that I received a very personalized and detailed email response to my posted questions and concerns about this product, and I was very impressed. I have been purchasing software and posting questions for quite some time here on BDJ, and this was the first time a company rep. actually took the time to personally email me and address the questions and concerns I had about their product. This, along with a very strong feature-set and what I consider to be a very reasonable price has won my business. I look forward to purchasing on the day that it is featured, and also to utilizing all of the nice features it has to offer. -Brian

Eddie Tex This is a very good deal.

I used to do a lot of DVD ripping and converting myself over 10+ years ago (back in the "Pocket PC" days) with tools like DVD Decrypter, DVD2AVI, AviSynth, and VirtualDub. Eventually I started looking for more automated all-in-one types of toolsets to save myself time. The freeware solutions (such as Handbrake) were too limited. So I looked to commercial solutions. I really liked the "Any Video" brand but decided to purchase from Xilisoft (which markets the exact same tool used by other vendors such as Imtoo). My decision was based purely on price at the time. Had I known then what I know now, I would have paid extra for the Any Video suite of tools

It's been my desire to switch to Any Video for a while now, so I'm glad to see this deal come up.

Kristen Mars I searched cnet.com for your software and i see free version is the hottest. There has a professional one too. Why is the ultimate so special compared with the other two versions? Thanks!

Anvsoft Support Hi Kristen,
The ultimate is our highest version for now.

Compared with the free one, the pro. can transfer more video formats, more detailed. For windows version, when you clone videos to DVD, the pro. one has a DVD menu.

The biggest difference between pro. and ultimate is the ultimate owns every functions of the pro. one which is also a dvd ripper. Besides, the ultimate can record screen and support ipod transfer

They may differ in other small parts, you may have a "version comparisons" overview here.http://any-video-converte...re.php(P.S. Free one is not listed in the table.)

More questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Techtoysavvy can the software handle
1. DTS-MA passthru to mkv
2. automatic chapter spliting
3. support for Quicksync

I have several of these programs and am looking for 1 solution that can handle all my tasks. transcoding HD audio and/or pass through is a function that will really set you apart. Handbrake is still working on it.

I have to use old or hobby software to split into chapters. None of the new programs handle this feature. It is useful for music. It would be nice for software to handle episodic videos as well.

Patricia Lange Ever since Windows 7 came out, I've been looking for a tool to edit WTV files (made with Windows Media Center). I see you support dvr-ms files, but that doesn't help me. My recordings are in h264 format instead of MPEG2. Do you have any plans to add full WTV support?

Techtoysavvy @Yalita Zou

Intel Quick Sync is hardware accelerated encoding and decoding using the newer Intel processors and supporting chipset. My 2500K & 2600K with Z68 core logic support this capability. Currently I use Cyberlink MediaEspresso with Quick Sync. The encoding is much, much faster.

Unfortunately, MediaEspresso does not have DTS support.
I also use AVS4You which does have basic DTS support but does not support Quick Sync.

Adrian Williams I've downloaded the trial version for the mac. I can't see any options to convert to .mkv format - one that i use extensively for use on my samsung TV. I have xilisoft's ultimate v7 but handbrake produces much better results. Have I missed any options to get .mkv format with configurable bitrate , picture size etc , just like handbrake ? Eddie mentioned many more options than handbrake but for mkv I can't see them.

David Powelstock I'm slightly confused about the array of Any [X] Converter products. Any Video Converter Pro does video, but not DVDs. Any DVD Converter does DVDs (does it also do everything that AVC does Pro?) Any Video Converter *Ultimate* looks like it does everything that AVC and ADC combined can do. Is that correct? In other words, there is anything that AVC Pro or ADC can do that AVC Ultimate cannot do? Thanks.

Anvsoft Support Hey Marry,
Thanks for your always support to Anvsoft. The Any DVD Cloner is more like a DVD ripper while the Any Video Converter Ultimate is more than that. It is a combination of a cloner and a video converter. Honestly speaking, it has every function the Cloner owns.

None OfYourBusiness @ Yalita - Yes, I chose the video. The clip button works fine for all other videos, also for other .ts streams. And I can edit all of them without problem.
But for that full HD .ts video, and maybe others, the button is disabled and I cannot enter edit mode. Could it be that the .ts file is locked due to some copy protection scheme (it was recorded digitally from a TV broadcast)?
Anyway, the offer only has another 10 minutes to go, so it's to late now. Still - I would like an answer, perhaps I will buy the program anyway. Or I may wait for the next offer if there will be one.

Joe Candelaria The Any Video Converter EULA (http://softwareula.wordpr...converter/) indicates that Open Candy (adware) is run during the install process to recommend other software. What is the scope of Open Candy? Is it something that gets run at install time only? Does it get launched at any time after Any Video Converter installation? What would happen if I install Any Video Converter with the internet disabled?

James J FWIW, I was going to buy this, but the order page won't go through unless I check the box to receive emails from BitsDuJour. Now, I don't have a huge problem with getting emails from here, but being _forced_ to allow them is simply unacceptable. Why even have a check box if you're not going to give people the option to leave it blank? Oh well.

The HD .ts can be supported without a problem, so i can not sure where goes wrong for your case. How about try another format first then choose edit to see if the transferred video can be edited or not? If it can not too, which means the file has been encrypted. If can, please feel free to contact our AVC support team support@any-video-converter.com and i am sure they will give you a good solution!

Anyhow, no, BitsDuJour does not sell pirated or patched software. We only offer full, legitimate licenses to legal software titles.

Louis H John, check out the older comments for the developers comments about Blu Ray. It is planned for future versions.

The developer has stated that the original MSRP is $59.95, and that is what is posted on their website. So it would be nice if today's price were 57% off of that, but still, today's price is the best deal I have ever seen for this convertor.

I have tried this one out and it has handled all the conversions I have given it. I can't speak to the ability to make backups of the copy-protected DVDs you own - I, myself, use DVDFab for those - but it really is a nice convertor. Very quick.

The developer is actively improving the product. You can see a change log at...

http://any-video-converte...elease.php

And it comes with Lifetime upgrades - something nowadays that I highly value.

I've simply been biding my time for the deal to come back around.
