Ah, the cassette tape.

They came in different colors and different lengths. They had four page inserts that you could personalize. They sparked arguments between friends about the virtues of high and normal bias and Dolby noise reduction. They were cumbersome, cheaply constructed, and inconvenient. Remember all that "one side of this cassette may be longer to preserve the continuity" nonsense?

Say what you will about the cassette but one thing was certain, if you had it on tape, it was yours! I remember sitting in front of the radio for hours waiting for my favorite songs to play so that I could record them onto a mix cassette.

AudialsOne is like that, except for the Internet. And it's much, much, MUCH better!

AudialsOne brings you an unlimited supply of your favorite music, automatically recorded from over 15,000 Internet radio stations. All you have to do is enter a music title or artist, and the music you want lands on your hard disk. It's that easy!

Need a comprehensive collection of 70s music for your next party? Simply select the corresponding music genre and click Start. Again, it's that easy!

But what if the music you're looking for isn't among the over 100,000 artists listed in the AudialsOne database of regularly-played music? No problem. The powerful AudialsOne Internet meta-search engine makes it simple to locate and download exactly what you want.

But audio is only the beginning! AudialsOne is directly integrated with more than 30 of the Internet's best video and entertainment portals. Just type in what you want to see, download, and enjoy!

What's more, after your videos have been downloaded, built-in format conversion technology automatically converts them into the optimal formats for your mobile phone or MP4 player!

J Pieper About three months ago I purchased Radiotracker 5.0 Platinum and TransferMyMusic - Download along with Extended Download for both through Bits du Jour. All of them seem to work as they had been described. This seems to be closely related if not exactly the same software with a different name.

How does this differ from what I already purchased? What added value or functionality would I obtain from this that RadioTracker 5.0 does not give me?

If this is essentially an enhanced version of what I already purchased from you, is there an upgrade price to get a license for AudialsOne, perhaps $2.50, as that is the price differential on Bits du Jour between the two products, or no more than 50% of the normal upgrade price to go from RadioTracker 5.0 to AudialsOne?

What must I do to obtain special pricing for this as an upgrade?

Avanquest Software James,

AudialsOne is three products in one - RadioTracker, Tunebite and Mediaraptor. Unfortunately, I dont' have an upgrade price from RadioTracker to AudialsOne, but $32.45 for the additional Tunebite and Mediaraptor ($63.80 for just those two products if purchased separately) is still a fantastic deal.

Jerry S I bought this product from the Audials website some time ago. It is awful. It totally messed up the Windows XP computer I installed it on. Many internet radio stations ban it because of how it causes their limited bandwidth to be sucked up. Most of the stations that permitted it were either broadcasting very low res MP3 or European. Not too good for someone looking for country music. Anyway, I asked for a refund and they did say okay, but I never got around to going through the rigmarole with their credit card processor. I'd strongly urge that this product be avoided at any price.

A. Goyal Not sure of Jerry's comments but I have used an older version of Audials One on Vista 64 and very happy with radio stations and being able to capture many simultaneous streams. No issues ever.

James D WARNING : This software installed PIXIEPACK without warning or your permission. Pixiepack s identified by many people as a bad thing, messing up PCs sound... so beware. I don't know if Pixiepack is essential for this sotware.

A. Goyal I noticed that software offered here is version 3 and NOT the latest v4 offered directly at audials site. Can someone please confirm as I already have AudialsOne v3 and would hate to get another license for the same version!

Nick Katz Personally, I avoid any Avanquest software at all cost. They buy up software from other developers and proceed to ruin it.

Jon Koerner This initially sounded like a good deal, but Jerry's comment is troublesome, so is James D's note about Pixiepack getting installed, plus, why version 3, not 4? Too many questions about it for me to risk the money.

I can second what Nick Katz says about Avanquest software in general.

SoftCollector Well, it is a mixed bag.

PROS: 1. This is the only software of its kind that will download songs and cut them automatically.
2. Looks nice and is way ahead of its competitors in terms of look and feel.

CONS: 1. It indeed seems to be banned by some of the most popular US internet stations.
2. It works SLOWLY. If you install it on a USB, it gets even worse: it will need 20 seconds just to start playing the next song.
3. It eats up resources and uses up you HDD in ways that were not authorized. I put a cap at 2 GB of downloaded material and now - in a single night - have 3.5 GB of cut songs on D: and another 1.5 GB of source material on C: that was never supposed to be there (in a directory AudioCutterCore) - I found it full of *.mp3s while looking for solutions to my shrinking C:!

In short: it is a good idea realized badly.
