D Rogers I did spend a few hours comparing this software to Lightroom and also Nik. The strengths of this one are that it is very fast, just click a preset. Also, for a landscape or architecture, this handles the sky the best with selective edits.

Easy with lightroom integration.

You can achieve very similar results in lightroom, as in VERY similar, with difference being 5-15%. With color projects having the slight edge. It's also much faster to click a preset than to have to go through the seven common lighroom adjustments such as clarity, exposure, shadows, highlights, sharpening, vibrance, etc.

I found this to be more fun than using lightroom.

I would not use it for interiors or night shots though unless you wanted to get real creative with an hdr look. Better for sky and outdoor day shots.

I went ahead and bought it.

István User You receive the serial number after you proceed the registration procedure. Start the installation, and simple follow the described procedure step by step, and you will become your personal UID, and serial number. You receive the registration code in a separate email, after the registration on the vendors site. I tried, and work fine. :)

Joyce Dias Hi there, during install the software shows only only the plugins 64 bit and 32 bit checked off (which I installed although I don't have Photoshop) whereas the color Projects (without Photoshop)_ is grayed out. My version does not show the brush feature. Please advise? Thank you.

By the way the registration process worked fine.

Adam Once you download and install it after you click "get it for free" button, there is a "Internet" button in the 1st step of registration. Follow the instruction to fill up the personal information, you will receive an email with ID and registration code. The registration code is also the serial number for this Color Projects.

After I tried several photos in Color Project, I found:
1. It can deal with RAW format directly when running as standalone application. But looks it doesn't load the full size. When zooming in, it uses digital zoom which causes low quality photo.
2. Too strong edge sharpness even though I changed the sharpness to the lowest value. I think this also shows in the demo photo on the application website.

I'm using Windows 10 64bit system.

Bill Sech I got this deal and want to test the software a little. I was absolutely surprised at the non-standard, mysterious, installation and registration process. I rolled the dice so to speak and did guess at some of it and managed to reach a successful conclusion. I now have a registered and installed deal. The cost at $0.00 is really great. Having more complete installation and registration set of instructions I think might help. I hope to have fun using it in the coming weeks.

Robert Snith Why do you have to join their site called Badoo too many steps just to get this they should make it easier and just send you the email with the serial number it could be that simple. You have to click in the internet on the screen 2 times for it to send you and email. What a waste if you do not do this you could wait for days to get your email.

inger User Thanks bdj! In my opinion All the Franzis software is genuine and great. I really like them. With some patience you can get very professional looking results. All the Franzis Projects programs can neatless work together and interchange pictures from one module to another.

Registration processes is always as follows:
1. start the installer
2. press get key from internet
3. the registration page will open in your browser
4. in tyour email program: in 1st email press the confimation link (may take some time to receive)
5. in the 2nd email get the registration info
6. store the info for the next installation!!!
7. back to the installer: input registration info in the installation window
8. install
10. start the program
11. input the installation key in the program

You can install the program later at any time with that information

Marek User Hoping, that Mr Franzis eventually will read this I say, that I am really sorry Mr. Franzis, as renowned and regarded, as his company may be, should think twice before offering his products in such manner as he did today.

First I waited 15 mins for the first mail to arrive. It never did. The next time it arrived after another 12 mins. The second message appeared after another 20 minutes and I thought I was happy to start the installation only to find, that what I can eventually install is COMPLETELY USELESS for me, that is – the plugin (I have not Photoshop installed) whilst the option pointing to the standalone version is grayed and unavailable.

US$ 40 product offered for free may have its value, but my time is also precious! Thank you for such "free offers", Mr. Franzis. Or you’ll point out here how to rectify the bug in your installer as I am not the only one prospective user who was stuck with the aforementioned problem.

Frank User Worked well as usual. Yes a complex reg process first time around. Once they send you the final email that will occur after you d/l and start to begin install - there is a 3 step entry after you click on Internet button.
After click it they send email. Has user ID (a short # string) and a Reg that
is long mix (like for installing Windows). That Reg will do Double Duty for you.
You enter Reg below the user ID while remembering Reg will AGAIN be needed just before the very final Install phase. There it will ask for a Serial # which is
that prior long Reg. Plug it in & that's it.
Program is similar to Franz prior kind with left hand side for High Quality, etc.
HQ is nice & sharp. It saves to about a 2X file size. Haven't figured how to use any batch mode. Any way that's how it goes.

But your advice does not resolve the problem, that eventually, in the course of registration the only option you may chose is to have a plugin, not a stand-alone application. I do understand you were interested in the plugin, but did you have another choice (full, standalone version) as well?

Frank User It will run as standalone. During Install there's 2 choices auto checked. For it & for Lightbox plug-in.. Don't understand what you did for there to not be a desktop free run icon for it. Mine came up as both.

Quill Pen I'm sick and tired of all the ridiculous hoops to register. ELEVEN STEPS?? ALL dependent on an email that hasn't arrived yet? I got my Bits confirm email at 9:38PM and TWO HOURS LATER the little box from the installer is STILL hogging my monitor and still no second email with the required info to open the stupid program. I'd like to go to sleep but I have NO idea how long I have to wait for the email and then follow 10 MORE steps. Fred Schall The serial number is the REG number sent to you already. They used the wrong words. I too found this out because someone was nice enough to inform me, also.
This was the MOST complicated install. Not sure why they created this problem for everyone.

Quill Pen 24 hours later, they claim they revived their server, and I still show diddly in the way of an email containing whatever the heck it's supposed to contain (so many terms - password, reg info, reg number, serial number)
So phooey on Franzis.

Did anyone for whom this contorted and borky registration procedure actually worked ever post the VERSION number that as left off the description? I suspect those who had an earlier version would enjoy knowing if it was even worth attempting to download... and might like to know if they have to risk losing everything by deleting their old version first, or if it's safe to overwrite the old with the new, or install it to a new folder so they don't lose the old version in case there's a problem with the newer one. That crucial bit of info should ALWAYS be mentioned in the fine print but rarely is, not just here, but on other giveaway sites, too.

Constantin Florea We've scanned the installers using VirusTotal.com and there were 0 (zero) detections for each of them.

I suggest using a different browser than Chrome to download the installer.

I suppose you did so something is going wrong, so the product should not be used/installed as it is delivered in this way.

ms User I changed browser settings to bypass blocked download in chrome, To register"LIKE ALL FRANS software "you click installer and press the INTERNETinstep 1 of the installer. It takes you to franzis site to get free install code emailed to you.

Doris Ballard Okay, there's a problem. After the install, when I ran it, it crashed.

Ran it again, and it stopped me with: "Enter your serial number", and said that there was 1 month left to use it.

When I installed it, it had a serial number already in there, and I had to put in my User ID and Registration Code from the email, but I had no idea that I would have to *write down the serial number* to put it in again on the first run.

Nick User Copy and paste the registration code you received into the serial number box and click Activate.

Main issue I have trying to use on a Surface Pro 2017 is that the text on the menus is microscopic - maybe 2 point if that. Makes it nearly impossible to use for this 65 year-old, even with glasses.

Lucia Helena Finally could download it through Microsoft Edge Browser. Scanned the EXE file with McAffe and it was OK. You have to hit "Internet" button at the first window of the installer and it will open a page for you to input your email. After accepting both boxes below (Terms of Use and to receive propaganda (!)), you will have to fill the form bellow with a password and hit "Continue". They will send a verification email with a link to confirm your email. After confirming, they will send you another email with your ID and serial.
The installation goes on and again, you will have to enter your serial and hit "Activate".
For a novice like me, I could only play with the presets at left - don´t know how to use the filters at right (will be a big learning curve for me !!) I felt it should have an "Undo" as when you try one filter and then the next fourth and so on, you can´t remember again which one you liked most and go back to that one you selected, let's say, three steps before... !!

Wolfgang User Firefox has blocked the download. With Opera it works. No virus alarm, have made an addional scan after installation. You need an account at Franzis to get user ID an registration key, but it works. The confiormation mail takes some minutes.

but,, it won't,,, I have to register.......

I fell out the form but the mail never comes with the ID and Reg #

I Request it and it sends me to a mail client that I do not use and have never used.

Later... I get THAT mail to open and it says.... You Already have an account... Enter your Password.....

This is absolutely nuts.

I cannot see how Bits d J lets this happen.

2. extract the zip file, start the setup program, and on the registration window click to internet. Give your datas which is needed, the system will send you an e-mail. I have wait more than 10 minutes, but arrived.
3. use your codes to register and its done :)

Frank User We're all getting the malware download aborted message.

Nevertheless:
If you want to download this file may I suggest "Epic Privacy Browser".
It's chrome based and installs in seconds. It's claim to fame is simple "they don't track you". Almost VPN like without the VPN
(Just copy and paste the failed download URL to your installed Epic)

Sent the file to Virustotal and it reports: Clear
However according to VT it's called: Unpacker.exe
(Typically .exe files have a hard time making it past browser down loaders)

However, 2 years of German in high school in the 70's is not helping me register it. It's all in Deutsch !
OMG. What a hoop jumping process to get it registered.

Sadly, after an hour I simply gave up.
I was looking forward to using this program but there were just too many hoops that I couldn't get past : (

If Franzis is willing to just send me the reg info I'd be grateful.

Heidi-Ann Kennedy-Fourkiller Though I had no problem downloading, they are having a 500 error saying they exceeded their bandwidth. So even successfully doing the registration no e-mail with codes. I use Mailwasher Pro so not going to any spam folder.

Pat Anderson For me everything went very well. I didn't get a warning for the download, scanned it with virustotal and it came out clean, got the email with registration code almost directly and installed / registered it without any problems on win7. Nick User #Frank User You do have to register on the Franzis site, or sign in if you have previously registered. Google Translator will help with the website, If you get the message that you have pervious registered, use the forgot password option.
After registering you will receive the email, in German, from Franzis with your user ID and registration code. In amongst the other German in the email, which I can't read either, it tells you the the registration code is also your serial number.

Oliver User Got the same warning about Virus from FireFox, But it went through using Safari for the Mac and PC version.

William Billick Unlike a few of the earlier posters, I successfully downloaded, installed, and registered v4 via Firefox. I also successfully received and applied Franzis' emails regarding my user ID code and my registration code. Looks like very useful software. Thank you.

However, I also unsuccessfully tried (several times today) to access Franzis' website to see what the differences were between v4 & v5.

Each time I tried I received the following error message: Bandwidth Limit Exceeded -- The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.

Jonathan Prusky I had a problem downloading the softare using Chrome (same error as others), but succesfully got it vai Firefox. However, when I went to install it, it asked for registration information which I did NOT receive from BitsDuJour. If I press "Later," it seems to terminate the installation.

How can I proceed to successfully install this?

Bryan Thomas Please confirm the version that is on offer.
The download trial is for the latest version 6 (the download appears to be very slow even for my slow internet connection).
The box shown is for version 4 (Projects) and the offer lines identify only 'Color Projects Professional' or 'Color Projects 5'!
Following the purchase link for 'Color Projects Professional' led to a page showing a number of the Franzis Projects Pro products at full price, selecting 'Color P Pro 6' gave a purchase order for $99 and entering 'bitsdujour' in the coupon box reduced the price to $38.61 (before tax).
This also worked for 'Sharpening 3 Pro' and might work for the rest!
I use a number of Franzis products (Sharpening Pro 2 most recently) and own and use 'Color Projects 5', hence my interest.
Following the 'Color Projects 5' offer leads to the same 'Projects Pro' Web Page!
