What are people saying about EVEREST Ultimate Edition (Personal)

frank kasperski I have an older version and it works great.
(except the benchmarks comparisons are old).

Was just looking to upgrade and then viola,
here it is on Bitsdujour.

I like it's ability to show the sensors on your computer.
CPU temperature, hard drive temp, fan speeds, and such.
I had it on a dell, then moved it to a gigabyte pc I built.
(I donated the dell, so I wiped it and legally transferred the app to my gigabyte system).

It's amazing how pitiful my dell was in regards to mobo sensors.
I had ONE sensor; for hard drive temp.

My gigbyte mobo had several.

Great software application.

Just my .02 cents, but I recommend that everyone should get it (even if you have a dell) ;^)

The stats it provides is a great way to keep tabs on your pc.

John Williams SO - this software requires a subscription? I was going to buy, but on the last screen where you ask for credit card info you have a check box automatically checked to "Enable auto-renewal for this order ". What would I need Auto-renewal for? Can you please explain how the licensing works and upgrades - future versions, etc....

Bob Fisker While I agree that this is the best tool in its class, it still strikes me as expensive, even at the reduced price!

Pascal Marion All of our software licenses entitle you to perpetual use and include one year of maintenance (support and updates) starting on the date of purchase. Renewing maintenance is entirely optional. As long as you have active maintenance, you are entitled to all new versions for free.

I hope this answers your question.

Rune Johannessen I went through parts of the buying process and found no multiple license rebate. The Everest Ultimate license only cover one PC. Many people have more than one PC today, and many software developers meets this situation either by letting the personal license cover the license buyers PCs, or at least give some rebate if the buyer need multiple licenses.

I can not see that Everest does any of those.

fran harter I was looking at the checkout online and noticed an "AUTO RENEWAL".

What is the rate for auto renewals?

Will they be full price or discounted?

Thanks in advance......

Mica D I'm having a laptop which always powers off, if it arrives at a certain temperature point, which occurs - lucky me - normally only while doing games and not during apps. So I suspect the graphic-card.

Can I find out with your tool (through permanent log every, e.g. 10s) what really is the reason?

Would it be even possible with your tool to slow down CPU-performance (or perhaps graphic-card) to let it not crross this temperature-line? (Or, if not, any hint what to do, would be greatly appreciated, too...)

frank Kasperski Very glad to see this back on Bitsdujour again.
I need to pickup another copy.

A very informative program.

I found the sensors alone to be very handy when OC'ing my i5.

As a result of the sensors for the CPU, individual CPU cores, hard drives, etc, I ended up:
- upgrading to an oversized CPU cooler with dual cooling fans; (as the stock intel CPU fan was allowing the CPU to run hotter than I wanted)
-moved my external hard drives into an external chassis with an 80mm cooling fan.
- added 2 more chassis fans.
Now the temps on these components are much cooler.

Definitely a useful utility.

Mike G Wow, looking forward to getting this one. The most detailed system information available anywhere all in one place.

One small disappointment is that "Software audit: Installed Programs" is not available in the Ultimate version. For everything else I can understand the breakout between Corporate and Ultimate (Personal) features. I recently needed such a report on an old system I was migrating off of. A freeware tool I tried didn't catch everything. Maybe we'll get lucky and that report will be included in Ultimate someday!

Albert C. This price is lower than the annual upgrade fee they're asking! So, new year, new license for me! Not upgrading for $29,95 thanks!

Waiting till 16th!

jeff c is it only a 1 year license?

Zsolt Bisztran Is it possible to use your software on my each computer with one personal license? I have 2 desktops and a notebook at home.

Mike G Strange that none of the questions here have gotten a response from from Lavalys--especially Mica's questions from 7 days ago. I say strange because Lavalys appears to be very responsive in the Lavalys user forums.

jeff c, you can find license info here:
Looks like the license is perpetual (no time limit) , but you only get updates for one year. So there is an annual fee to get updates. Don't rely on my interpretation though. Check out the website yourself.

Also, looks like the license can only be used on one PC. Personally I think that is overly restrictive, but it seems to be the trend these days.
