What are people saying about Flip PDF Professional

Nelson Carvalho I bought FLIP PDF some times ago. I would like to know if there is a promotion for the upgrade to Pro version too.
Nov 28 2011 at 3:11am Copy Link
William Zheng @Nelson You can purchase the Flip PDF Pro separately in BitsDuJour today with saving 67%, this discount could be the largest one you can get. - Nov 28 2011 at 5:47pm Copy Link
Simple Simon So, the answer to Nelson's question is "No"?
Nov 29 2011 at 5:11am Copy Link
Edward Jones @Alice cant order Flip PDF Pro with saving 67% now QQ
Nov 29 2011 at 5:28am Copy Link
Nico Westerdale @Edward, the discount will appear on the second page of the order process
BitsDuJour Admin - Nov 29 2011 at 5:29am Copy Link
William Zheng @Simple I'm sorry for that, there isn't promotion for the upgrade to this pro version, as I said, the 67% discount price could be the lowest price you can get code of Flip PDF Pro. Wish you enjoy this software. - Nov 29 2011 at 5:57am Copy Link
bvssunnydale So, does this software convert pdf's to e-books (with text wrapping)? What ebook formats does it support? (epub, etc). Thanks.
Nov 29 2011 at 6:51am Copy Link
William Zheng @bvssunnydale Flip PDF Professional is software to convert PDFs to Flash based e-books, there are different kinds of output options: HTML, EXE, Zip, Mac App, Mobile version and Burn to CD. More details you can view "Flexible Output Formats" feature in the webpage of this program: - Nov 29 2011 at 7:00am Copy Link
Bruno Verschraegen Hello, I have purchased several programmes already via BdJ and am interested since a while in a flip building programme. However, my preference goes to your Flip OFFICE Professional package. Any chance that you could make the discount available for that too?
Nov 29 2011 at 7:15am Copy Link
William Zheng @Bruno I'm glad you are interested in our Flip program, we will consider your advice and will discuss this with BDJ, but I'm not sure when the Office program will be available here. You can download the trial versions of PDF Professional and Office Professional to have a try first, the Flip PDF Professional provides more features at present. - Nov 29 2011 at 7:22am Copy Link
Bruno Verschraegen Hi Alice, thanks for feedback.

As a small company organising events I thought the Office version would be more handy because it also allows to produce flips straight fromm documents produced in the various office programmes withut having to convert first into pdf. But then again creating a pdf is only one extra step.

Comparing carefully the comparison charts for Flip Pdf versus Flip Pdf Pro and Flip Office versus Flip Office Pro, I noticed the difference between PDF and OFFICE versions are: batch conversion of multiple PDF files, adding image of flash logo in Float template, adding html title in Float template. What is the Float template (may not have looked deeply enough into you site, but did not seem to see a definition for it).
Nov 29 2011 at 8:17am Copy Link
William Zheng @Bruno Thanks for your trying, yes, Flip Office Pro is more expensive for it can convert different Office documents to page-flipping books, but the program can't batch convert, doesn't provide command line, can't use some features in Float template (Float Template is the most flexible template to help you carry out many functionalities on your created page-flipping eBook, such as define Book Title, Book Logo..., you can find out the definition in the Select Template interface). But we might add these features to Flip Office Pro in future.
So if you use Flip PDF Pro, you just need to save your files in PDF format first, then use more powerful features in this program at present. - Nov 29 2011 at 5:14pm Copy Link
Nico Westerdale Due to the overwhelming response has agreed to extend this deal for another day - Enjoy!
BitsDuJour Admin - Nov 30 2011 at 12:00am Copy Link
HJ B This program has some major drawbacks if the purpose is to use documents that will actually be read.

1. Word and Acrobat have a feature by which one can display a full page or a full width. That is because display of a full page on a compute screen generally makes the document illegible or uncomfortable to read, due to the small resulting size of the script. Full page mode is convenient for browsing a document, but not for reading it. This application has no up and down scroll bars (as do Word and Acrobate) This application has a zoom feature. However the only way of going from the top half of a zoomed document to the bottom half is to "grab" the page and move it up or down. That is awkward and distracting.

It would be helpful if it had some user settable buttons that:

a) toggled between top half and bottom half of screen;
b) allowed standard magnification settings that are comfortable for this person and the screen/resolution he is using.

The mouse scrolling button is very good for going from one page to the next (but only in html mode, not in exe mode). It would be useful if one of the other buttons could be used to scroll up and down at a predetermined rate or distance.

2. The search feature is quite limited. A search for "big dog" finds all instances of big and all instances of dog.

3. There does not appear to be a way to close a document you are working on, but keep the application open. It seems that opening a new document automatically discards the document previous worked on. A close feature would be more elegant.

4. When creating an HTML based swf, the option is given to name the swf file; however, it appears that necessary related files are put into a standard folder called "files" On my computer, that folder was 500 megabytes (yes, half a gig) after creating two ten page flip files. It was not clear to me what parts of that folder were necessary for me to put up on a website with the swf file.

5. It seems to be claimed that this will produce an app for use on a an Ipad. I thought Ipad cannot handle swf files. In any event, it is questionable to me that the flip book concept is practical for use on a screen the size of an Ipad.
Nov 30 2011 at 2:35am Copy Link
William Zheng @HJ B Thanks a lot for your detail feedback about the Flip PDF Professional. About your mentioned problems:
1. About your ideas about "up and down scroll bar", "standard magnification", we will consider to develop these features in future versions;
2. I'm sorry for the search problem, we will try to improve the search feature in the next version 1.6;
3. You can directly import a new PDF file to work on without closing the program;
4. Sorry for the size problem, the reason is that the size would be larger when convert from PDF to SWF, but this won't effect the speed of reading online. If you want to publish your created flip book online, all output files and folders needed to upload together, including HTML, SWF and "files" (maybe "mobile") folder;
5. The App (Mac Application) is executable application can be run on Mac, not the iPad app, if you want to view your created book on iPhone, iPad and Android, you can choose HTML output type, check "Also Make Mobile Version" option to output, then upload all files and folders online to view the book in the browser of your PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android devices. - Nov 30 2011 at 2:56am Copy Link
Bruno Verschraegen Hi again. Is the print functionality disables in the trail version or am I doing something wrong?
Nov 30 2011 at 9:58am Copy Link
Mina Friedman Hi,
I downloaded the demo, and exported it as an HTML. Of course, since it's an unregistered copy, the Demo link was in the center.

My question is this will go away after I purchase a license, right?

Also, at the top of the document, where it tells you what page it's on, there's a link. Will this go away after the license is purchased? The reason being is because I have several conservative clients, and they won't want to feel bombarded by advertisements while they're reading.

Nov 30 2011 at 12:12pm Copy Link
William Zheng @ Bruno You can set "Tool Bar Settings-Buttons Bar-Print Config" to enable the Print feature. If you still encounter problem, please send me screenshots and template details via email: .

@ If you register the program, the demo watermark will go away. You can remove the title to exchange with your company or book title, just set in Tool Bar Settings-Title Bar. Thanks. - Nov 30 2011 at 5:13pm Copy Link
Christina Reuter Alice...

I bought Flip PDF Pro...but I neglected to ask you an important question:

Does A-PDF's traditional policy of lifetime upgrades for 'no charge' extend to Flip PDF Pro?
Dec 1 2011 at 5:27am Copy Link
William Zheng @Christina Yes, all later versions of our programs are free for registered users, including Flip PDF Pro. So please don't worry about this. - Dec 1 2011 at 5:34pm Copy Link
Salome Ackerman Why is the price different from the advertised price. I want to order the pro version at advertized price of $69.30 and not $200.
May 4 2012 at 2:11am Copy Link
William Zheng @Salome The price $69.30 is the 30% off coupon price for Flip PDF, not the Flip PDF Professional. They are different programs, and Flip PDF Professional provides more features like add links, videos, YouTube, images on pages. You can download to have a try. - May 4 2012 at 2:17am Copy Link
Constantin Florea @Salome, We've recently implemented a few changes to the discount deals framework and based on these changes, the price shown on the promotion page is the first one entered in the promotion setup. In this case the first price was that of the Standard version $99.00/$69.30 and that is why this price was shown on the promotion page. When you press the Buy Now button, the pop-up which opens there will always show the correct prices.

Now everything is fixed and the price shown on the promotion page is the one for the Pro version.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.
BitsDuJour Admin - May 4 2012 at 2:23am Copy Link
Gilles Gauthier You are showing the Flip PDF Professionnal but actually, it's the Flip PDF that we get for 32.67$. Regular price 99$

The professional version is 299$

Is this an error because it's misleading publicity.... to say the least!

Jun 25 2012 at 8:14am Copy Link
Roger Thomasson @ Gilles

Thanks for the heads up. Indeed, we had the wrong price listed for the professional version. Fixed now, but please note that the standard version will also be available on promo day with the same 67% discount.

Sorry for the confusion!

Flip PDF Professionnal.
I need the license for FlipPDF standard thereafter no longer.
Can I return this license or sell?
Jun 26 2012 at 11:21pm Copy Link
Gunderic Hagen Queries:

1) What is the cost to upgrade from Flip Pdf to Pro?

2) The policy seems a little confusing. Does it mean that I can have the software loaded on my PC AND my laptop, but can only use it in one of the two at he same time? That would make sense.
Jun 27 2012 at 6:13am Copy Link
William Zheng @ Sarah & Gunderic About upgrade problem, please contact us via email directly: .

@ Gunderic About our license policy, our license codes are device based codes, a single user code just can be used to register the program in one computer, if you want to use on two or more computers at the same time, you need to order 2 or more codes accordingly. - Jun 28 2012 at 2:05am Copy Link
DrTeeth @ Alice

Your answer to Gunderic is not clear. Does "a single user code just can be used to register the program in one computer". I have 6 computers. What is I want to use the program on *all* computers at *different* times? Thanks in advance for the clarification.
Jun 28 2012 at 3:44am Copy Link
William Zheng @DrTeeth Sorry for my before answer. If you want to use the same single user code on different computers at different time, then you need to uninstall the program, delete all related info in original computer, then install and use in new computer. Thanks. - Jun 28 2012 at 5:30am Copy Link
Cheryl Rutherford You can convert your PDF files to Flash using these 3 FREE online tools:
Jun 28 2012 at 7:48am Copy Link
Petr I see in your features list that you can output from Flip PDF Pro to iPhones & iPads. Also, that Flash content can be importing into an eBook generated from your program.

.. I'm interested in buying if iPhone / iPad can enable viewing any eBooks created by your program, even if Flash is part of the content.

kevin buccinna This is all new to me. Can someone clarify this for me. In order for this software to work you have to have a PDF file ( the contents of your book )and in order to have a PDF file you would have to have a program like Acrobat Pro in order to generate a book as a PDF. Is this correct?

Carlos Figueiredo This software even with discount, is overpriced! It's nice to have a pdf "cosmetic" enhancer but only if it costs $30...
Nov 5 2013 at 8:44am Copy Link
kevin buccinna Is there any reason my question is not being addressed?
Nov 5 2013 at 3:13pm Copy Link
William Zheng @kevin buccinna, you need PDF file but currently there are lots of tools can publish and create PDF files, such as any print files in PDF format and any Mircrosoft Word or PowerPoint saved as PDF file and so on. - Nov 5 2013 at 5:41pm Copy Link
William Zheng @Carlos Figueiredo, a PDF "cosmetic" enhancer is just one of the features of our program, and the main feature of our program is to enable you to create various flipbook which can be viewed on MACs, PCs and mobile devices. In addition, you can also publish flipbook as workdpress plugin, Joomla module and Drupal module. Moreover, you can use bookcase feature to sell online books directly. - Nov 5 2013 at 5:49pm Copy Link
Stephen Kreyling Any way to go from Pro to Enterprise with the discount of today?

Great program, I use it to enhance and distribute a monthly magazine. One use that is nice, just get a free QR code software or buy one and then put the code on your materials you hand out, bus card, flyer, book, and the users can viewer the flipping information online on there tablets, and smart phones. Add in video, links, and social sharing.

the only thing I dont like is that you can not size the image on a smart phone, this is something that has not been available. Will be great if they can figure out the process to make this happen. I use a samsung note 2, so the size is not bad. but I really would like to zoom.

I also create a self contained Mac OSx book and a PC .exe book and share out the magazine for users who want to view on there own system and not the web.

I was hopping to get the enterprise that add the shopping cart feature at a discount, but so far, its still too high. I dont need to host my books on there servers, but like the complete set of tools to use when needed.

Overall its a very good program, updated all the time and features are well rounded.

I am using the pro version of the software.

Bill Sivula Is the "Fine Print" different when buying "Flip PDF for Windows" (the $32.67 version) rather than Flip PDF PRO for Windows?

I could not find any matrix comparison of 'Flip' vs "Flip Professional' on the

Bill Sivula thanks you, Alice Li.

Regarding "The Fine Print", (re both plain and PRO Windows versions),,
what is the practical meaning for "lifetime of the product"?
Will revisions for new versions of Windows, or new features added, constitute a "different product?" It seems likely that something will eventually trigger the need to pay more money; authors/publishers do deserve SOME continuing income. . (I guess I'm seeking some idea of how many months/years it might be before I would have to pay more money.)

George Butel I bought regular FlipPDF on 5/11/10. I'm only a casual, occasional user, but I might be interested in the pro edition. Would there be a discount to upgrade to the pro for those who already own the full regular version, or would the $98.67 apply to that also? I used the program to convert my 1961 junior high school yearbook into a Flipbook, and I was most satisfied with the ease with which the program did it. I converted my scanned tiffs into pdfs (using Photoshop Elements), then used FlipPDF to make both a Flip exe file, to send to people, and a flipbook file to put online, which I keep in my Dropbox (in a public access folder; there's nothing "private" in it, so if you want to see what a non-business user can do, without any fanciness, check out There were 96 pdf files, totaling about 126 mb, and the .exe Flip file was 39.8 mb. The online version of the FlipPDF book was about 109 mb.

Dexter Bell Do you have any examples of products made with Flip PDF Pro that have been accepted and are available in the App Stores, Google, Apple or Amazon?

Doesn't seem likely but though I should ask.

Hans-Peter Guttmann The home page for Flip PDF Pro does not mention publishing eBooks to Windows Smartphones — Windows 8.1 or 10 Preview.

Any issue here? ~ Thank you!

Steve User Can Flip Book readers print the entire book, or must separate printable version (standard PDF) of the document be provided to reader? Example: says we wanted to distribute a User Guide in this format.

Dexter Bell Nice looking program and website - would have bought it if there had been any response to ANY of the above questions. But there wasn't (it is now near mid-night) so regretfully I'll give it a pass.

Really why bother promoting on BDJ if nobody is going to pay any attention?

HJ B As far as I can tell, from looking at some of the flip docs on the company website,

While called Flip PDF Pro, this product actually does not produce a pdf, but rather produces a flash slide show.

1. Trying to read something that is comparable to a standard magazine type of document (e.g. time) produces type that is too small to read on a standard computer screen, when the document is in the mode that displays two pages at a time. For larger text, poster types of display, the program does a good job.

2. It would be better if the reader were given the option of only a one page display - similar to a standard pdf. However, the full width pdf option probably would not work well with the page turning feature.

3. I did not see if there is an indication of what the size is, as compared to a pdf that shows the same material.

4. I do not think this technology would work well on a cell phone display.

mix624 I dont like the page flipping effects and cannot understand how that is a positive thing really, just annoying graphics and sound when reading. Can that sound and animation be disabled (changing page) ?

Allan User I bought the program a few hours ago, just as the original 24 hours was finishing. Have been slightly underwhelmed, but that could be due to not understanding it properly yet - as mentioned above, a proper user guide would be handy.

While it does appear to be better value than some of the online subscription versions of this type of thing, you do still need to pay for uploads to their server.

My verdict: I bought it for the PDF to SWF feature. Doesn't quite do what I want it to yet, but I am much happier than if I had paid $299.00..

Amit I am very interested for buying the pro version, but have to ask a few questions -
1. There are many other softwares too at the site that I would like to buy, can I get a similar discount for them too ?
2. And does this software have all the features of a slideshow or screensaver software. I know it can output as .scr, but for the small time that I tried the downloaded trial of pro, it didn't looked with transition effects and similar found in some other slideshow softwares. I am saying this because I like flip pdf pro for its ebook feature but for such a big price if it had transition effects too as in slideshow softwares, it was a great buy. if there are many of them, please guide me.
3. also please help in a minor glitch - when I outputted to a .scr and got it installed as well by the software, I couldn't change the settings of the screensaver from here - >rightclick on desktop -> personalize -> screensaver -> settings, because the moment i clicked on settings, it showed the screensaver, and if I moved the mouse to do anything, the screensaver just exited. So I can't even flip or click in the screensaver made. Although this is not a big glitch for me, and that important, the other two requests (1. and 2.) written above are very important to me. Hoping to find for them.

Allan User Hi @Amil,

I'm not a member of staff here - just a customer like yourself.

As I said above, I bought the software, and it is good for what it does, but doesn't quite work the way that I like. However, it is a cheaper way to go than some of the monthly subscription services offering a similar product.

To get answers regarding issues with support, it would probably be better to go to the software home page. The link is to the right of the "Get This Deal" button at the top of the page.

If you want to have a look at how the software renders on a website, I have up loaded the users' manual so that you can learn a bit more! The address is below if you want to check it out.
