As a small company organising events I thought the Office version would be more handy because it also allows to produce flips straight fromm documents produced in the various office programmes withut having to convert first into pdf. But then again creating a pdf is only one extra step.

Comparing carefully the comparison charts for Flip Pdf versus Flip Pdf Pro and Flip Office versus Flip Office Pro, I noticed the difference between PDF and OFFICE versions are: batch conversion of multiple PDF files, adding image of flash logo in Float template, adding html title in Float template. What is the Float template (may not have looked deeply enough into you site, but did not seem to see a definition for it).

Bruno Verschraegen Oops, forgot to ask: if PDF version has more features but OFFICE version is more expensive (without discounts), may I assume the ONLY advantage (and hence price difference justification) is indeed the convenience of not needing to convert Officel files to pdf files first? William Zheng @Bruno Thanks for your trying, yes, Flip Office Pro is more expensive for it can convert different Office documents to page-flipping books, but the program can't batch convert, doesn't provide command line, can't use some features in Float template (Float Template is the most flexible template to help you carry out many functionalities on your created page-flipping eBook, such as define Book Title, Book Logo..., you can find out the definition in the Select Template interface). But we might add these features to Flip Office Pro in future.
So if you use Flip PDF Pro, you just need to save your files in PDF format first, then use more powerful features in this program at present.

HJ B This program has some major drawbacks if the purpose is to use documents that will actually be read.

1. Word and Acrobat have a feature by which one can display a full page or a full width. That is because display of a full page on a compute screen generally makes the document illegible or uncomfortable to read, due to the small resulting size of the script. Full page mode is convenient for browsing a document, but not for reading it. This application has no up and down scroll bars (as do Word and Acrobate) This application has a zoom feature. However the only way of going from the top half of a zoomed document to the bottom half is to "grab" the page and move it up or down. That is awkward and distracting.

It would be helpful if it had some user settable buttons that:

a) toggled between top half and bottom half of screen;
b) allowed standard magnification settings that are comfortable for this person and the screen/resolution he is using.

The mouse scrolling button is very good for going from one page to the next (but only in html mode, not in exe mode). It would be useful if one of the other buttons could be used to scroll up and down at a predetermined rate or distance.

2. The search feature is quite limited. A search for "big dog" finds all instances of big and all instances of dog.

3. There does not appear to be a way to close a document you are working on, but keep the application open. It seems that opening a new document automatically discards the document previous worked on. A close feature would be more elegant.

4. When creating an HTML based swf, the option is given to name the swf file; however, it appears that necessary related files are put into a standard folder called "files" On my computer, that folder was 500 megabytes (yes, half a gig) after creating two ten page flip files. It was not clear to me what parts of that folder were necessary for me to put up on a website with the swf file.

5. It seems to be claimed that this will produce an app for use on a an Ipad. I thought Ipad cannot handle swf files. In any event, it is questionable to me that the flip book concept is practical for use on a screen the size of an Ipad.

1. About your ideas about "up and down scroll bar", "standard magnification", we will consider to develop these features in future versions;
2. I'm sorry for the search problem, we will try to improve the search feature in the next version 1.6;
3. You can directly import a new PDF file to work on without closing the program;
4. Sorry for the size problem, the reason is that the size would be larger when convert from PDF to SWF, but this won't effect the speed of reading online. If you want to publish your created flip book online, all output files and folders needed to upload together, including HTML, SWF and "files" (maybe "mobile") folder;
5. The App (Mac Application) is executable application can be run on Mac, not the iPad app, if you want to view your created book on iPhone, iPad and Android, you can choose HTML output type, check "Also Make Mobile Version" option to output, then upload all files and folders online to view the book in the browser of your PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

I downloaded the demo, and exported it as an HTML. Of course, since it's an unregistered copy, the Demo link was in the center.

My question is this will go away after I purchase a license, right?

Also, at the top of the document, where it tells you what page it's on, there's a FlipBuider.com link. Will this go away after the license is purchased? The reason being is because I have several conservative clients, and they won't want to feel bombarded by advertisements while they're reading.

Constantin Florea @Salome, We've recently implemented a few changes to the discount deals framework and based on these changes, the price shown on the promotion page is the first one entered in the promotion setup. In this case the first price was that of the Standard version $99.00/$69.30 and that is why this price was shown on the promotion page. Petr I see in your features list that you can output from Flip PDF Pro to iPhones & iPads. Also, that Flash content can be importing into an eBook generated from your program.
.. As iPhone / iPad do not support Flash content, how do you enable the output from your programs to work on iPhone / iPad? Does your program do a conversion? please explain.

Stephen Kreyling Any way to go from Pro to Enterprise with the discount of today?

Great program, I use it to enhance and distribute a monthly magazine. One use that is nice, just get a free QR code software or buy one and then put the code on your materials you hand out, bus card, flyer, book, and the users can viewer the flipping information online on there tablets, and smart phones. Add in video, links, and social sharing.

the only thing I dont like is that you can not size the image on a smart phone, this is something that has not been available. Will be great if they can figure out the process to make this happen. I use a samsung note 2, so the size is not bad. but I really would like to zoom.

I also create a self contained Mac OSx book and a PC .exe book and share out the magazine for users who want to view on there own system and not the web.

I was hopping to get the enterprise that add the shopping cart feature at a discount, but so far, its still too high. I dont need to host my books on there servers, but like the complete set of tools to use when needed.

Overall its a very good program, updated all the time and features are well rounded.

I am using the pro version of the software.

what is the practical meaning for "lifetime of the product"?
Will revisions for new versions of Windows, or new features added, constitute a "different product?" It seems likely that something will eventually trigger the need to pay more money; authors/publishers do deserve SOME continuing income. . (I guess I'm seeking some idea of how many months/years it might be before I would have to pay more money.)

George Butel I bought regular FlipPDF on 5/11/10. I'm only a casual, occasional user, but I might be interested in the pro edition. Would there be a discount to upgrade to the pro for those who already own the full regular version, or would the $98.67 apply to that also? I used the program to convert my 1961 junior high school yearbook into a Flipbook, and I was most satisfied with the ease with which the program did it. I converted my scanned tiffs into pdfs (using Photoshop Elements), then used FlipPDF to make both a Flip exe file, to send to people, and a flipbook file to put online, which I keep in my Dropbox (in a public access folder; there's nothing "private" in it, so if you want to see what a non-business user can do, without any fanciness, check out http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5...erged.html. There were 96 pdf files, totaling about 126 mb, and the .exe Flip file was 39.8 mb. The online version of the FlipPDF book was about 109 mb.

Rick Edwards I have numerous powerpoint files that include animation effects. If I print these to .pdf of course I lose the animation.

Danny Mackie I am interested in purchasing this software so I installed the trial version to test it out. I really like the resulting flipbook but a lot of the text on my converted PDF did not come through on the converted book. I did try installing the Ghostscript but it didn't help.

HJ B As far as I can tell, from looking at some of the flip docs on the company website,

While called Flip PDF Pro, this product actually does not produce a pdf, but rather produces a flash slide show.

1. Trying to read something that is comparable to a standard magazine type of document (e.g. time) produces type that is too small to read on a standard computer screen, when the document is in the mode that displays two pages at a time. For larger text, poster types of display, the program does a good job.

2. It would be better if the reader were given the option of only a one page display - similar to a standard pdf. However, the full width pdf option probably would not work well with the page turning feature.

3. I did not see if there is an indication of what the size is, as compared to a pdf that shows the same material.

4. I do not think this technology would work well on a cell phone display.

Allan User I bought the program a few hours ago, just as the original 24 hours was finishing. Have been slightly underwhelmed, but that could be due to not understanding it properly yet - as mentioned above, a proper user guide would be handy.

While it does appear to be better value than some of the online subscription versions of this type of thing, you do still need to pay for uploads to their server.

My verdict: I bought it for the PDF to SWF feature. Doesn't quite do what I want it to yet, but I am much happier than if I had paid $299.00..

Amit I am very interested for buying the pro version, but have to ask a few questions -
1. There are many other softwares too at the site that I would like to buy, can I get a similar discount for them too ?
2. And does this software have all the features of a slideshow or screensaver software. I know it can output as .scr, but for the small time that I tried the downloaded trial of pro, it didn't looked with transition effects and similar found in some other slideshow softwares. I am saying this because I like flip pdf pro for its ebook feature but for such a big price if it had transition effects too as in slideshow softwares, it was a great buy. if there are many of them, please guide me.
3. also please help in a minor glitch - when I outputted to a .scr and got it installed as well by the software, I couldn't change the settings of the screensaver from here - >rightclick on desktop -> personalize -> screensaver -> settings, because the moment i clicked on settings, it showed the screensaver, and if I moved the mouse to do anything, the screensaver just exited. So I can't even flip or click in the screensaver made. Although this is not a big glitch for me, and that important, the other two requests (1. and 2.) written above are very important to me. Hoping to find for them.

As I said above, I bought the software, and it is good for what it does, but doesn't quite work the way that I like. However, it is a cheaper way to go than some of the monthly subscription services offering a similar product.
