What are people saying about Flip PDF Plus

Nelson Carvalho Hi,

What is the policy of updating the software?

Thank you.
Aug 1 2010 at 3:42am Copy Link
William Zheng The updating is free for ever as soon as you purchased. See the page: Free upgrade for ever All products are free to upgrade, once you purchased the software, you can use it forever. We keep the right to raise price for later versions, but you do not need pay one cent for upgrading. - Aug 1 2010 at 11:34pm Copy Link
Tom Colvin I've been scouring the internet for well over a year looking for a reasonably priced program that will produce a "flip-book" in a landscape format [my choice because it displays so well on a computer].  I tried quite a number of programs, and all have failed for one reason or another. Half an hour ago, I downloaded this program.  Within minutes, I discovered that I could simply import a small 8-page booklet I had created quite a while ago while I was testing out Serif PagePlus, a layout & publishing software somewhat akin to Adobe InDesign, but MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE.  I had designed the booklet in landscape layout and saved it as a pdf publication. Flip PDF downloaded it, inheriting the page dimensions of the original design.  It worked PERFECTLY!!! I will be recommending this program on my blog for writers.  I'll tell them that this is the best deal and most effective and versatile flip-book software I yet discovered.

Donald Doherty Is there a way to add unlock codes, prohibit printing etc.

And I sometimes do more than PDF. Is there any chance that Flip Printer, which indicates it does Word, PDF HTML be offered to this same type of discount?

It looks like a great product.
Aug 4 2010 at 9:19am Copy Link
William Zheng @Donald Doherty We will add the unlock codes to the 3.0 version. And the upgrading is for free. Currently, we have no plan to offer the same discount for Flip Printer. Please follow us at twitter:, we promotion our products always. - Aug 4 2010 at 3:31pm Copy Link
Raymond Camilleri Is the software valid for one computer? If I save the converted document and send it to a friend, will he need this software to view or will it be standalone?
Aug 4 2010 at 9:55pm Copy Link
William Zheng @Raymond Camilleri

The converted document will be a html(with swf and others) or standalone exe file. Do not need this software to view.

You can convert unlimited files and sent to friends, even publish in your web site without limitation. - Aug 4 2010 at 10:31pm Copy Link
Donald Doherty @Winston I noticed on the website that you could get all three flip book programs for $99.00. Is there a chance that a package discount will be made available? I work for a non profit organization and $99.00 is a bit steep for our budget. Also, any date on when version 3 with the unlock codes will be released?
Aug 5 2010 at 12:44am Copy Link
William Zheng @Peter Thank you for your advice. We are considering to improve the converting performance for multi-core processor. We are considering to add an option to hide the control panel in zoom mode as well. @Donald We have discounts for non profit organization. Please contact our sales on the page: - Aug 5 2010 at 3:36am Copy Link
Discount Necessary Hello,

Well, it would be in fact better to have all the three programs made available for a $99 as a package in one single program. Most companies use models lime Version Platinum, Gold, etc.

Now I may be interested in two of your programs. If you offer a similar discount for the $99 package, like the other user mentioned above, I may also buy.

If not, I may let it go as this overrides my small budget as I just needed one single PDF file to be flipped... BTW, it is not uncommon for companies to offer multiple products for discounts here.

G Booth Really, Really  nice software, I will be buying this tomorrow when the offer is on.

I have found one minor spelling mistake in the user interface,
In the design settings tab 'Download setting' has a typo, 'Donwload setting' . shame as the software is excellent.

Aug 6 2010 at 6:24am Copy Link
G Booth another minor mistake, the Label 'Please Custom flash template below' should read 'Please Customise flash template below'  other than that it's just perfect.

** I have spelled Customise the UK English way. **

G Booth under 'Batch Convert' 'PDF settings'  you have Watermark spelled correctley, then the on the button it is spelled 'Wartermark'

G Booth Apologies for my several prior posts, these are minor items and this really is excellent software.
Aug 6 2010 at 6:39am Copy Link
G Booth Last post, I promise, I think i have checked through the entire interface text now.

Under 'Bookmark'  when the button is clicked to insert a new bookmark, the inserted bookmark should initially read 'untitled' not 'untitle'

Alan I will be purchasing tomorrow also I do believe.
They have lots of products that's for sure.
Aug 6 2010 at 6:45am Copy Link
Modifications Last Name I installed the software and it looks good. After playing, I was a bit shocked to see that there is no possibility to save your project configuration.

Now this is just ridiculous. It would not be difficult at all to have something saved.

I hope that I am mistaken. I am seriously thinking of buying but prefer the developers to clearify this.

Also if there is a major update coming in the near future, then I would like to know the upgrade price now.

Biff Bux Hey " joel kens " - quit cluttering up this forum with stupid non-issues that have nothing to do with the product.  Just because you learned to do a simple WHOIS search does not qualify you to judge a company. As for your ignorance about domain names - there is no such thing as "a 7 years domain" or "a 2 years domain".  Domains are renewed on an annual basis and may be renewed for a maximum of 10 years, not 7, so don't act like you know squat.  Why don't you do a WHOIS on and you will see that it expires next year-2011, so maybe you don't want to trust them with your business? Google owns hundreds of other domains also. Idiot. The reason that one of the people working for this company had to register as visitor to help answer questions is because the other person, ../../../profiles/a-pdfcom/ ( ../../../vendor/a-pdfcom/ Vendor)  is registered as the Vendor, also, "Alice" identified herself as working for the company. I look at comments for HELPFUL information about a product, not some stupid illogical rant that doesn't have anything to do with the product I am looking at, so quit wasting our time. As for buying the product, why don't you download the trial, TRY IT, and make up your own mind if it is what you need.  A $29 product is not worth insulting the owners of a company, especially when you are ignorant about what you are talking about and can't even use good English. As for me, I don't work for the company, don't work for Bits du Jour and typed all of this just because I was sick of your stupid posts that made no sense.

Alex J @Donald You can purchase Flip printer with even more discount($23). I just purchased 3 products include Flip printer at $77. That was i was doing: 1, go to the website: , find the $99 offer on the bottom. click "BUY NOW" button but do not buy actually. 2, don't close the browser, return BDJ, then click buy now above. bingo, the price will be $77.39. have a nice day.

David Gilmour I am evaluating Flip PDF and Flip Image, and I am impressed so far.  Unfortunately I am unable to evaluate the Flip Printer trial version because it will not install on Windows 7 64-bit; the message on running the installer is "Sorry!  The application cannot run in 64-bit Windows."   Is there a version of Flip Printer available which will run on 64-bit?
Aug 7 2010 at 2:14am Copy Link
William Zheng @David Gilmour Sorry, the Flip Printer have not a 64 bit version yet. - Aug 7 2010 at 2:51am Copy Link
G Booth Alice, I did not intend any offence, when I pointed out a few spelling mistakes. I know how hard it is when you are working in several languages aside from your native tongue. I simply wanted to help you improve the product.  Anyway I have just purchased a copy.

Joel Kens,  Alice and Winston have made it quite clear they are part of the A-PDF team, as far as I can see at no time have they tried to decieve anybody at BDJ otherwise.  Also what has the fact that the developer is Chinese got to do with anything. We are all equal whatever race or creed.

Roger Thomasson At this time it's actually impossible for a vendor to have more than one contact 'officially' working the comment boards.  In other words, with the 'vendor' tag applied.   Odd though, Nico and I were discussing this very issue earlier in the week.  Should be fixed soon :-)

Bob S Question re: which program would be best suited.  I have a number of Powerpoint presentations, and would like to embed them in my website. I suppose could either use your Powerpoint program to create the Flip Powerpoint, or I could print them to PDF and use your Flip PDF. Would the result be the same?  or would you recommend one over the other? The Powerpoint files often contain images - when I create pdf and choose "high quality" for images, the pdf file is often larger than the original Powerpoint.  Curious how the resulting Flipbooks would compare, in terms of file size, load time, image quality, etc. I do like the software - just trying to figure out which one would work best and produce the best quality output.

Thomas M Downloaded the trial as a precursor to buying. The trial states it's only limitation is watermarks and their banner. Upon trying the a pdf to html the zoom ability does not allow a scroll up/down or left/right. It also is limited to ten pages. Is this the product or just the trial as there seems to be issues. Could someone please clarify.

Thanks. Tom.
Aug 7 2010 at 10:40am Copy Link
Found Issues Easy to use software, however I found some issues that may be a problem, would like the DEVELOPER to answer the following:

After a flipbook is converted, to HTML and opened in a browser or as an .exe, if the reader right-clicks on the page, the Adobe Flash Player Options box pops up. If you select any zoom functions this way, the flipbook zooms in/out wrong, is no longer centered, and the toolbar disappears. Then the flipbook is unreadable, and has to be reloaded to work.  There should be an option to turn off the Adobe Flash Player Options so the reader does not use them!

Also, when creating an .exe file, there should be an option to maximize the window automatically when the file is opened.

Will these issues be repaired in the next version?

William Zheng @Bob S I suggest that you use Flip Powerpoint. When you converting to PDF files, some of detail will be lost. Flip Powerpoint has more performance and will add more option to powerpoint files, such as hyper link etc. - Aug 7 2010 at 2:00pm Copy Link

Bob S Thank you for the prompt response re: Powerpoint vs. PDF - I thought that may be the case.  Unfortunately, the Powerpoint version isn't discounted  :) but looks like it could still be worth $79. Two other questions (applies to both PDF and Powerpoint versions): 1.  When creating a file to embed on a website, is the inclusion of the file straightforward?  Do you provide instructions on how to do this? 2.  It looks as though one can control the size of the display and the # of pages that appear at a time.  Is that correct?
Aug 7 2010 at 2:19pm Copy Link
gail f Bummer! I forgot that these expire at midnight Eastern time!!
Aug 7 2010 at 5:22pm Copy Link
William Zheng @ Bob S 1. You can view this instruction webpage to get clearer about how to embed flipbook on a website:; 2. Yes, you can control the display size and the page appears at a time, just set the div style="width:400px;height:200px", the width and the height, they will be the flash width and height, and also define :book.swf ?pageIndex=3 , that "?pageIndex=3" means the flip book will open the to page 3 when it is loaded.

Michael R. Just went to your homepage and found the example: Looks very nice...

Can you say something about the download-behaviour when the book is on a website? Meaning: When having converted a quite big PDF-File and exported it to a web-site: Can the user start reading the book at once (i.e. as soon as a single page has been downloaded) or does it have to be (internaly) downloaded completely - which may take a quite long time (and an impatient user might leave the page) - before it can be used at all? Best behaviour would be probably if the user can use it at once and if he calls a page which is not yet downloaded to make flip-page download this page with the highest priority.

When burning it to a CD: Can the result be used on a computer with an older Windows-version too, e.g. Windows ME or even 95? Do I suppose right, this computer does not have to be connected with the internet?

Is it possible to add links not being set from inside the PDF-files, e.g. a link to another FlipPDF-file (perhaps even to a certain position within it)?

I've heard the new PDF-Files allows also some animations like flash-movies, etc. Will this be inside the FlipPDF-file too?

Is it possible to define different passwords for different parts of FlipPDF-file, so e.g. let the standard user see only a part of the booklet and only with an entered password the rest?

(Are there some of the requested features, that were not yet available, but will be in an upcoming version?)

Thanks a lot...
Feb 16 2011 at 4:40pm Copy Link
William Zheng @ Michael R.
1. Flipbook visitors can view flipbook with pre-loading needed pages at once to open quickly, do not need to wait all pages loaded;
2. As long as the latest Flash Player installed on older Windows-version computers, the result eBooks can be viewed too;
3. Yes, you can add links to another Flipbook even the special page, just make sure the flipbooks are uploaded online;
4. I'm sorry that the current version doesn't support add animated movies, but we will consider to add in future (BTW, if you buy now, all later upgrade versions are free for you);
5. At present, you can only add same password to a same flipbook, but you can just protect some latter pages.

If you have more questions, you can contact us directly at: . - Feb 16 2011 at 5:31pm Copy Link
Stefan Hauber Hello,

I would like to have e.g. 5 flip-books being displayed on a single html-page using only a small part of the display. Between each of them should be some text. Each one should be usable on this page concurrently, e.g. the firt might point at page 10, the second on page 22, ... Additionaly, if the user wants, he also can a single book being displayed on full screen. Is this possible? Is it possible without having each Flip-PDF-book being stored twice? How can I create such a webpage. I looked at the source-code of the created index-page and with about 900 lines for displaying a single Flip-PDF-book it looks quite complicated... Perhaps there is an example on your website / forum somewhere!?

How good is the password-protection? Is this a serious encryption or just something for a standard pc-user?

Checking the trial-version for a little time, I liked it a lot. Here is what I would like to see on a new version (perhaps it already is implemented and I have overseen it...):

(a) Since PDF-Files have quite often a page-numbering printed on a page, I would like to have a way to synchronize these page-numbers with the page-numbers shown by the flip-book. E.g. many books start with i, ii, iii, ... before starting with the normal page numbering 1,2,3. So when the user wants to go to page 123 and enters it in a flipbook he gets to a lower page-number, since flip-books always start with page 1 as it seems. Also a kind of slide-bar would be nice to let the user stay with his hands at the mouse. Additionally when clicking sometimes to a forward-button it would make sense not to chache it, but instead move the number-of-click pages at once.

(b) I also would have liked single pages to be displayable (instead of two pages on a side) - laptop-displays are mostly too small to be able to display two DINA-4 pages) or even being able to enter e.g. two following pages which normally are not beside each other, e.g. page 3-4 (instead 2-3 or 4-5). It would also be great if the user could click on a page and draw the mouse to a direction, which would jump to the former or next page. Or a possibility to move more than one page forward (e.g. a fast-forward of ten pages).

Having said this: Again. I like this product and the animation just looks great. Also I have seen and appreciate the possibility to create a personal localized language-output within the program.

Thanks for your detail enquiries.
1. You can show 2 or more flipbooks in a single webpage, view details in this webpage: , you can also define which page to be displayed in the embedded flipbook;
2. You can use password to protect your flipbooks, for example, you don't want readers to view your whole book, then you can add a password to protect latter pages, then readers only can view the front pages without knowing your password;
3. About page number problem and just show single page instead of two pages requirements, we will consider and might make change or add in later versions, you can get our upgrade news from our newsletters ( ). - Feb 16 2011 at 9:05pm Copy Link

Thanks, Winston, for the answers and the willingness to consider to add some proposed features :-)

What I meant about passwords, was, how easy is it to crack them. E.g. as far as I know the passwords of a former W*rd-version was quite easy to crack: the datas were not encrypted at all. (If I should speculate, I would say, just in the header of the document-file was an entry about password protection y/n and the password itself (probably scrambled)). Using a 3DES or IDEA encryption methode however is really hard to decrypt: it would take really much time (months/years) to find out the password (brute force), if the datas itself were encrypted.

Flip PDF is the program just to convert PDF files, but it can be used to batch convert multiple files at the same time, and the current version of Flip PDF provides more features like mobile version and mac application output modes, social share feature and so on;
Flip Printer is the program to convert all kinds of printable files to flipbooks. You just need to click the "Print" command and then choose "Flip Printer" option to print file into flipbook directly.
You can view the output flipbook example here: .

For the cost you can't beat it. I use it to take customer files and turn them into digital copies for clients that want to make there jobs available to more people via the web.

Free upgrades is a big one here, most companies will hit you with an upgrade of hundreds of dollars. For me, the pro version offers many of the abilities of each of the single products that are similar that they release.

The site uses wrong price. - Oct 18 2011 at 6:59pm Copy Link
Mike Murphy OK. That's too restrictive for me. As I said, I own 3 computers and use them all at various times.

Nico Westerdale The listing on LiteFile is incorrect. that's just a download site created by a script, you'll notice there's no way to purchase from that website. Check the publisher's website and you can see the Pro version is much more expensive.

Katherine Sweet I looked at your site, and the product I really need is flip writer. But one thing I don't see on any of your products is a way to adjust the "flip" sound they make or substitute a sound of your own choice. To me that sound is harsh and inauthentic. Is there a way to change that within the application?
Nov 12 2011 at 5:32am Copy Link
William Zheng @Katherine Sweet
We will consider your advice and improve the flip sound feature in later versions, you will get the upgrade news if you subscribe our newsletters. - Nov 13 2011 at 8:03pm Copy Link
Rick Heise Can the finished product be posted on a website for anyone with Adobe Reader loaded to be able to view?
Is there a limitation on how large the file can be or a restriction of the number of pages?
Nov 19 2011 at 10:22am Copy Link
Ivar Romer I tested the pro version of this product. I need to implement sound (Mp3) It works, but on my iPad I do not hear the sound.
Do I something wrong?
What is the price for upgrading from this bits du Jour flip pdf version to a pro version?

Edward Jones hi I'm interested in Flip PDF, could anyone provide me the coupon code?

If no, I would try to use the trial version. much appreciated 3
Nov 28 2011 at 2:35pm Copy Link
William Zheng @ Rick
Yes, you can publish your created flip book on your website for people to view your book online with ease. There is no limitation on the number of pages, the largest file size the program can process is 1GB.

@ Ivar
I'm sorry the audio can't work in mobile version at present, but we will consider and try to make it work in future. And if you want to purchase Flip PDF Pro, you can go to the Pro program promotion page here:

@ Edward
You can download the trial version to have a try directly, and the BitsDuJour provides the most coupon price today, don't miss it. - Nov 28 2011 at 5:42pm Copy Link
Rick Heise If I purchase this one and I determine that it works well for my application - do you have an upgrade policy for moving to the professional version or a bundled package that would offer more features?
Jan 9 2012 at 7:37am Copy Link
William Zheng @Rick Yes, you can just pay the additional $200.00 only when you want to upgrade to Flip PDF Professional here: . Because Flip PDF Pro provides all features in Flip PDF, we don't provide bundled package for Flip PDF and Flip PDF Pro, sorry. - Jan 9 2012 at 6:33pm Copy Link
Gunderic Hagen The regular Flip Pdf has problems as links don't work, no matter the workaround suggestions. On the other hand, I don't think the Pro version is worth about three times the regular price of Flip Pdf

QUESTION: Will the Pro version be offered here at a more sensible price? If yes, when?
Mar 11 2012 at 1:18am Copy Link
William Zheng @Gunderic
About links problem, you can view details in this page as reference: . If you still encounter problem, you can send your file to me via email directly: . And I'm not sure when will promote the Flip PDF Pro on BitsDuJour, you can subscribe the newsletter from BitsDuJour to get discount news. - Mar 11 2012 at 8:06pm Copy Link
Gunderic Hagen Thank you, but the problem is that each person receiving from me the flip pdf documents finding the same problem would have to sent it to you....not realistic.
Mar 13 2012 at 2:06am Copy Link
William Zheng @Gunderic Will you please send a sample to us as reference? The "links don't work" locally or after publishing online? Please send a sample book. I really want to help you fix the issue. - Mar 13 2012 at 3:25am Copy Link
Roger Thomasson @ Gunderic

At this time there are no plans to offer the Pro version on Bits. As Alice suggests, please continue your support request via email rather than this comment board.

Ivar Romer hmmm, I thought I posted here an item which is gone now?
My questions:
1. wat would be the upgrade costs to the pro version.
2. In the pro version you can insert an mp3 file, but it will not play on an iPad?
Mar 27 2012 at 8:23am Copy Link

1. The upgrade price from Flip PDF to Flip PDF Pro is $200.00 here: ;
2. I'm sorry, the inserted mp3 won't work in mobile version at present, we will try to develop in future. Sorry about this. - Mar 27 2012 at 7:46pm Copy Link
Stephen Chaffer I have made a book up, there are two files in the folder.
How do I embed the book onto a website, so that the books are available in flip-books to read on-line or download?

Tushar Shah Alice, I have emailed twice recently for separate solutions to problems in flip pdf not being retained even after applying changes. Very disappointed to note that I have had no response. We have purchased the program, but now find that if this is the service we get, perhaps it is not worth the money.

The one problem that has created big issues is the settings not being saved even after applying changes. If they do get saved after lots of tries, they cannot be changed again.
May 24 2012 at 10:53am Copy Link
William Zheng @ Amjad Sorry for the late reply, also sorry that Flip PDF doesn't have print command as your mentioned, sorry. But you can have a try on Flip Printer which works like a printer to print files to flipbooks: .

@Tushar Sorry I just replied you 18 hours ago, after setting you can click "Enter" button and then "Apply Change", this will make your change applies to your book. Sorry. - May 24 2012 at 8:57pm Copy Link
Alberto Perez Hello Alice,

Is there an option to add a button like "Download PDF".. I haven't seen it on any of the demos shown. I'm looking for a flip PDF program but that option is a must for me.

Thanks in advance!

William Zheng @Alberto The program provides a "Download" feature which you can input your PDF link for people to click and download PDF to use offline. You can download the program to have a try. - Jun 26 2012 at 7:14pm Copy Link

@Fatima Yes, Flip PDF provides Google Analytics feature, but the tool doesn't provide video output format, just HTML, EXE, ZIP, Mobile Version and Burn to CD. Or you can download the software to have a try first: . - Dec 13 2012 at 1:06am Copy Link
