hameed azeez hi pl confirm that i can buy 1 license and use in both my desktop and laptop and keep things up to dt.

Tazzie After 12 months of free upgrades, what then?

Is license activation required?
Aug 30 2011 at 9:47pm Copy Link
0
Moneyspire Hameed, you can buy the Family Pack license, which lets you use the software on up to 5 computers. The cost is $23.95 (normally $79.99).
Moneyspire Inc. - Aug 31 2011 at 7:49am Copy Link
0
Moneyspire Tazzle, After the 12 months of free upgrades you will still be able to use the software as usual. However, to continue receiving future upgrades you will need to renew your license for a small fee (just like you do with most other software).

Adrian Williams I'd like to ask about activation. I currently use Home accountz and their activation system is abysmal. If I have to re-install the software (on the same PC) I almost have to beg for them to re-activate the licence. I've downloaded your software to test out purely on my dislike towards home accountz. if I like the software I'll buy the family
pack so I can use it on my laptop too. So, could you briefly outline your licence activation policy.

As an aside - are you considering producing an android version ?
Aug 31 2011 at 9:31am Copy Link
0
Moneyspire Adrian, activation is easy, all you do is enter your activation code and that's it. If you ever lose your code, you can use our support website to retrieve it. Regarding Android, we are actually working on releasing a mobile edition for Android, as well as iPhone, iPad and possibly other devices.

Does it import Money files ?

It also has direct connect with banks to download your transaction automatically.

Adrian Williams I've just bought the family pack (windows) and am looking forward to the android version development.

Are you planning on setting up a forum for your users comments ?

I'll feedback on how easy it was (or not) to port all my data from home accountz to Fortora FF in case anyone else would like to migrate.

naveed Does it import from Bank of America, American Express, PerkStreet?

Does it automatically categorize items?
Sep 1 2011 at 10:34am Copy Link

Adrian Williams Just for info - UK banks seem to be scarce on the list of direct imports. No sign of Lloyds TSB. I downloaded a csv file from my account and imported it into FFF. No error reporting on the import if you make a mistake on the import structure - just sits 'working', for example if you give it the wrong start line to start the import. Once I'd figured that out, the import worked fine. last 9 months transactions imported OK. About an hour to categorize the transactions, you can bulk categorize entries which saved a massive amount of time. So, within a couple of hours, my accounts for my main bank was set up. I'll continue to import transactions from other accounts and start using the software. Bye Bye home accountz.

MK What type and level of encryption does the password protection provide?
Sep 1 2011 at 11:40am Copy Link

Moneyspire Naveed, Yes Fortora imports directly from Bank of America, and also can import OFX, QFX, QIF and CSV from Bank of America. Currently we don't support direct connect with Perkstreet, but I will have our development team look into it. However as long as Perkstreet can export to OFX, QFX, QIF and CSV files you can still download your data into Fortora.

Cameron Gay I have purchased this application havign played with it yesterday.

I found it easy to use and surprisingly smart. Just one example is that it rememebers categories from specific payees and adds them automatically.

One suggestion. Change the "Record" title onbuttons to the more common OK or "Enter"
Sep 1 2011 at 12:45pm Copy Link

Merle One @M B : thanks, but my Microsoft Money version writes .mny files, and I would prefer a global import rather than an account by account import.
Sep 1 2011 at 1:08pm Copy Link
0
Adrian Williams Cameron;-
If you have a csv file similar to:-

Date,Payee,Amount,Category
01/09/2011,Paypal,9.99,software

As part of the import procedure, FFF asks for the start line of the data. In the above example it's line 2.

Line 1 contains the titles rather than actual data. If I selected line 2 - the import would work. If I mistakenly selected line 1, the import would 'hang' and show 'working' rather than display an error stating that the data format is incorrect.
The error checking for the import file is quite basic, that's the point I was making. Rather than sit waiting for the import to finish (and it wouldn't) I shut the program down and re-imported the data with the correct start line number. the import of approx 100 records took only a few seconds. my comment wasn't a criticism, just an observation to avoid anyone else sitting and waiting for the import routine to complete when in actual fact it wouldn't.
I hope this clears up any confusion.

Tazzie FFF has some great features, but I was disappointed to see that with FFF, I would have to pay more for a family license, then faced with larger upgrade fees based on 79.99 and not 49.99.

Can't find anything indicating portability via usb stick. Resources are quite thin ... no forum, indepth explanation of each feature of the program, etc.

After reviewing this then checking out other options, I think I may give consideration to
You Need A Budget 3 (http://www.bitsdujour.com...-budget-3/)
If you look at their website (http://www.youneedabudget.com/),
there are a great deal of resources, including a forum, quick start guide and user manual both online and downloadable PDF, tutorials, free classes, etc., interopability between PC, Mac and Linux, a better pricing setup (install on as many PCs as you want, for one price with more updates than upgrades and no annual setups), portability via usb sticks, mobile device support (iPhone available and Android coming), and lots of other features.

Maybe BDJ can bring this back as a deal again???

Both programs are good ... just depends on your needs and priorities.
Sep 1 2011 at 9:46pm Copy Link

Steven Avery I tend to agree with Tazzie. The interface looks nice and there is some good web-data-integration.

However the lack of any forum leaves you in the dark as to real-world issues, and the program looks, even in the pics, a bit feature thin, or perhaps light. For some it might be very good, but you spend a fair amount of time checking out this type of program, and you really want a little communication among users.

Adrian Williams I'd certainly recommend a forum to help move the software forward. It also takes a lot of pressure off the developers by having users answering many questions too. Furthermore, it either encourages or discourages potential buyers, based on the users experience.

Adrian Williams Hello George.
Is there any progress on the forum ?
I've just submitted 3 tickets relating to 1. Duplicating an entry, 2. Automating entries, 3. Making FFF work with www.lloydstsb.co.uk bank. I look forward to hearing your replies as I'm beginning to use the software extensively.

Duplicating an entry would be great as I have a number of direct debits and manually typing each one in is a bit long-winded.
TIA.

Edward Smith I have tried to get FFF to connect with Bank of America (BAC) but cannot get it to connect. I have done this with other programs so I do not believe the error is mine. I even deleted an account from Pageonce and re-established the account to be sure I was using the correct routing, account, user name and password, and I was able to connect with Pageonce. Is anyone else having this problem with BAC and FFF or is it just me?

Is this a limitation of the trial program?

I fear that this will not be resolved before the deal expires.

Hitman Dear developer, does Fortora support direct connection to any banks? For instance, I use PNC Bank, they have a VirtualWallet service, great interface, but insanely slow performance (thanks to poor Flash programming.) So if Fortora is able to directly connect to and download data from PNC, I'll definitely order this program. Thanks.

_*_ I use FFF and I can say the developer has been busy with updates and making the program much better overall. The images that are connected to this sale do not accurately reflect how nice the program looks now, or the addition of a few nice touches. Personally, I think $9.95 is a great deal for this software that is user friendly, and will cover the vast majority of users’ needs.

Cameron Gay I used this programme for while and it was reasonable and worth the price being asked here.

My only problem was a complete lack of response to support requests.

Hopefully this problem has been adressed.

_*_ Cameron Gay, I will say I have only received (if I remember correctly) 1, or 2 actual responses to tickets sent in to FFF.

However, I will also say many of the suggestion for changes that I have made, I have seen implemented into the program in a very short time span.

The one real support question I did have did get answered after 2 mails to FFF, but the answer was exactly what I needed.

Peter Gabriel I'm a bit concerned about the security aspect of the order page. Fair enough, it says it's a secure page but Opera doesn't recognize it as such, i.e. there is no padlock icon. I would have bought via PayPal but unfortunately there is no option to do so.

I like the program though.

Edward Smith I bought this program last time and have never been able to direct connect to Bank of America, something that I easily do with other programs. tom drake Bank of America is listed on the page of banks supported for direct connect:
https://www.fortora.com/s...?article=2
did you check with the latest version?
(I envy you the direct connect, where I live the csv import is the only option and barely works for that...though it's bank's problem of course)
May 2 2012 at 5:25am Copy Link

Edward Smith It DOES support the direct connect that the customer has to pay a monthly fee to BAC for, but it does not support web connect that the BAC customers do not have to pay for. I am just wondering why the vendor would not support web connect that is free to BAC customers.

I should add, otherwise I think it is a very nice program.

Oct 29 2012 at 9:27am Copy Link

Moneyspire Hello GD,

Yes, if your financial institution supports Direct Connect you can download your data securely directly into the application with a single click. However, if your financial institution does not support direct connect, you can still import your data using an OFX, QFX, QIF or CSV file (which most if not all financial institutions support) -- We recommend OFX/QFX files as they are the most preferred method.

Amit @george, can you illustrate why would any normal professional would need FF for his business needs. When he can manage all with simple softwares as basic editors etc.

If you have any special features and usage examples that may not come to mind generally ?

Moneyspire Amit, Fresh Finance is designed more for personal use rather than business. However we do have a lot of customers who use it to help manage their small business finances, such as bank accounts and credit cards and bills they pay to vendors. But Fresh Finance cannot handle anything beyond that, such as invoices and customer management.

If you like, please let me know what features you are looking for.

Roger Abbett A question for the developer:
I bought this software when it was previously listed on BDJ. Is it possible to disable the nag screen (which states the license needs to be renewed) that appears every time the software is started after 1 year of use? Other than by paying for the software again, of course. I did submit a support request, but as noted in the older comments, you do not reply to those.

Fresh Finance is currently only in English, but we are working on multilingual support. What language are you looking for?

Fresh Finance is compatible with most banks. As long as your bank can export to QIF, CSV or OFX/QFX files then Fresh Finance can import from your bank. Fresh Finance can also direct connect to over 600 financial institutions.

Moneyspire Just a little reminder to everyone:

We have received support requests asking how to transfer money in between accounts in Fresh Finance. This is very easy to do:

1) Add a transaction to the account register as usual

2) In the category box, click the popup arrow and you will see a list of categories and accounts

3) At the top of the list you will see all the transfer accounts, i.e. "Transfer:Checking", "Transfer:MasterCard", "Transfer:Savings", etc.

4) Select the account you want to transfer to

5) You're done :)

Moneyspire After one year, if you want to upgrade to the newest version the upgrade cost is $27. However if you don't want to upgrade you can still use your version forever. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you.

Paul joubert Hi George
I'm considering the "Fresh Finance for Windows + Mac Bundle"
Is there any limitations on the mix OS ie 3 Win vs 2 MAC etc?
If it runs on MAC is there a possibly a Linux version?
I know it is a bit late in the day.
Hopefully I'll get an answer or the deal extended.

Phred E What countries does Fresh Finance suit, George? I notice that you have 'Checking' accounts, so I assume it's primarily written for the USofA. That's 20 times larger and more complex than us here. AUS.
I always ask on this page what happens to registration of the software when the software company dies. With finance, software is even more dependent on its publisher than usual programs, but what happens, anyway, when Fortora ceases business? Thx.

Moneyspire Judy, the software does track investments (buying, selling, splits, etc.) however it is not as advanced as Quicken in this aspect (we are working on improving investment support though).

Yes, the data file is double-clickable from Finder, and by default it is in your Documents folder (but you can move it anywhere).

Yes you can use more than one data file (sequentially).

As far as tagging line items for tax purposes, you can either due this with customized categories/subcategories, or customized number column items.

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Moneyspire Hi Phred, we are a U.S. company, so our English is American-style, however we are working on releasing multilingual support which will also include different English styles like UK and AUS.

But it is important to note that the software is designed to work with many different currencies and date/number formats -- so the software really works well in all regions of the world (we have customers on all 6 continents).

If we ever do cease business (which is highly unlikely), the software and registration will still work. And you can export your data either to a QIF file (to move into another financial package) or to your spreadsheet program.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, I am happy to assist you!

Moneyspire Judy, what I mean is that our software supports basic investment management (buy, sell, stock splits, etc.) but it is not as comprehensive as Quicken. But we are working on enhancing investment support in the software and it will get better soon...

The software generally imports Quicken data very well, and many of our customers have moved from Quicken without any issues whatsoever. What you do is export your Quicken data to a QIF file, and then import that into Fresh Finance. Each user's scenario is different, but in most cases Quicken data imports perfectly, in some cases the user may have to make a few modifications to the imported data.

Moneyspire Hello everyone, here is another friendly reminder:

We have been receiving support requests asking "My bank is not listed under the Direct Connect financial institutions list. Will the software still work with bank XYZ?"

Yes our software will work with your bank :) If your bank is not listed under the Direct Connect financial institutions list, all that means is your bank does not support Direct Connect. But you can still import your transactions via a QIF, CSV, or OFX/QFX file (which 100% of banks support).

And of course if you want to enter your transactions by hand you can do that also.

Thanks George for extending one day. Given me more time to use the trial myself.

So far impressed with the programme. Is there any plan to add seperate function for cleared and reconsiled? I find cleared useful when credit card shows as transactions, and then reconsile after monthly statement online. Easier to see what was owed and what currently the next statement will show, rather than the current way forta seems to currently do it. Only my personal obs and interst if such a planned function.

Thanks.

Moneyspire Hello! What operating system are you on? If it's Windows 8, you need to go to Desktop Mode by clicking on the "Desktop" tile and once in desktop mode you will see the "Fortora Fresh Finance" icon and you just double-click it.

If you are on Windows 7 and below the icon should be on the desktop or by clicking on the Start button and selecting Programs-Fortora Fresh Finance.

If you are on a Mac, you would simply drag the "Fortora Fresh Finance" icon to the Applications folder and then launch it from there.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

T L I installed the trial version and exported my primary checking account from Quicken to a .QIF file. When I imported the .QIF file into Fresh Finance, it said "Finished" right away and gave me a window with a close button (the "Next" was grayed-out). I clicked close and was returned to the main FF window, where there was no evidence of any data being imported.

Perhaps it's relevant to note that I have been a Quicken user since about 1996 and have a ton of transactions, numerous accounts, and hundreds of sub-categories. Will FF choke on all that?

The database technology we use is SQLite (also used by Google, Apple, and many other companies). You can access the database with any SQLite viewer as long as the database is not password encrypted. However, by default Fresh Finance will prompt the user to choose a password and then encrypt the database for maximum security.

Moneyspire Hello David,

Barclays does not support Direct Connect, therefore you cannot directly download your data to Fresh Finance. However, Barclays does support OFX (and CSV as you mentioned). We recommend downloading your data as an OFX file and importing that into Fresh Finance. Since Barclays does not support Direct Connect, it is not possible to use Online Bill Pay.

I really wish I could help, but as long as Barclays does not support Direct Connect, there is nothing we can do unfortunately... But you can still use Barclays with our software, you will just have to download your transactions file form their website and import it into the software.

_*_ While I truly enjoyed FFF in the past, the latest version was stated to have an envelope budgeting system within it.
The last I used it was not implemented.

Also, the 12 months of updates is typically great, but there were so few updates since the new version it was not greatly beneficial.

The software seems a bit diminished from what it was said it would be and what it honestly could be.

BOB Hawkins This software is okay but not great. I have been using it for over a year.
There are problems when you import from quicken - it takes a LOT of line by line fixing.
It seems that they have support problems recently because they have not had an update in a long time and they do not reply to bug reports.
There is a message to pay for a new subscription that you cannot get rid of- even after you have paid up.

I paid for a new subscription at the end of April 2014 and the prompt to pay for a new subscription re-appeared a few weeks later.
I've sent numerous emails to Fortora about this (I have 4 email addresses for Fortora, and each gets copied in). But no response - not even an acknowledgement.
I like Fortora - it does all I need (I don't use the import function). But poor (non-existent) customer service is likely to drive me away from it.

MK Mike Kahler - Sorry to hear Fortora never came through. I got a message from Anna Thompson (service fortora.com) on 5th March 2014 offering me a discounted price on Fresh Finance (which I never took, as the normal renewal was still cheaper!) I actually emailed Anna to point this out, but I never got a response. A sign of things to come! The Release Notes on Fortora's website shows the last update (v.2.0.6) on 25th April 2014, so they were still working on Fresh Finance up to then. This gave me some confidence to renew, and I bought and received my updated Activation Number on 29th April 2014 which seemed to work; but by 13th May 2014 the Number had "expired" asking me to renew again. Fortora still seems to work, but keeps asking for renewal, and because of this, it also won't check for updates. I've contacted Fortora numerous times on 4 email addresses I have for them - but not even an acknowledgement. So it's bizarre that v.2.0.6 was released, but it all seems to be abandoned since, except for Fortora still taking in the money. Peter Laszlo I have been testing the free version for a few days. It appears to be a great tool for simple business and personal accounting. Whilst it is not intended to be a fully fledged accounting package like Intuit QuickBooks etc. it is intuitive and can be used almost immediately. I had a few questions and fired these off to support.
I received a reply within a few hours which was spot on answer to my question and they actually understood the question and gave accurate and understandable answers. This sort of support (U.S.A. based) is always a good indicator of the software quality.
I will be buying the software to complement my current accounting package and it is particularly good value at the BitsDuJour pricing.

PBMCMLXXI I moved back to using the product a few months ago, after the name change. Generally a good product. New perpetual licensing is ok and IMO better than the prev yearly model. The 55% discount offered is not to be sneezed at. :)

M K G Thanks for the suggestion Peter. I have downloaded and installed the free version and find the software very pleasing and user friendly. Also the perpetual licence is great. Unfortunately, I was not able to get it to work with my German bank's csv download easily. The list of bank connections also did not include any German banks. I will however, keep a tab on the software and would be very interested in it once the support for German banks is added.

Thank you publishers for making the licence perpetual. None of the German options that I know of offers this.

Cary Adams I gave up on Quicken after the forced upgrades pushed me into buggier and buggier software. So this appeals to me. It does not seem to involve brokerage accounts for capital gain and didvidend tracking. Did I overlook something.

Presently I'm trialing MoneyManagerEX (free, open source) which does not support direct connect, but will import qif, csv, qfx, etc. It does have investment handling, but only in a very basic sense.

If Moneyspire would handle investments, and not involve forced upgrades, this would be a "no brainer" for me. As of now, Excel is my tracking tool, sadly.

B Josephs Thanks for the deal. I got this some time back when offered here on BDJ, but didn't continue with the subscription. I would love to see a lifetime option and a Windows/Linux bundle.

I clicked on Get the Deal and it's not offering me the linux discount.

*EDIT*
I just realized that although on the right it says MAC and PC, on the left it says Linux.

Wade Townsend Hi, I am considering this and would like to know if my current Quicken data file can be imported into your program. I use Quicken Premier 2015 and do not like the direction Intuit is going with their software... Too buggy, thus the reason I have not upgraded to 2016. Does this program just do checking, Savings, CC, etc or does it also handle IRA & Retirement accounts?

Looking forward to your prompt response.
Thanks.

Moneyspire Here are our responses to everyone's comments:

@Peter: Thanks for the kind words!

@M K G: Yes the software will work fine for German users, and all other users around the world. The currency format and date format is automatically detected from the system settings. We are working adding support for more banks all around the world for connecting to and downloading transactions. Stay tuned!

@PBMCMLXXI: Thanks for the comments!

@Cary: No forced upgrades here! Regarding investment support: We have basic investment support so it should work fine for you. We are definitely planning on enhancing investment support also.

@Scott: You can most definitely generate custom reports based on category, and also based on accounts and payees and specific date ranges.

@B: Glad you found the Linux discount!

@Wade: Yes, you can import your Quicken data to Moneyspire by exporting your Quicken data to a QIF file, which you can then import into Moneyspire. Sometimes Quicken generates poor QIF files, which can cause importing problems. If you have any issues, please contact our support team and we will help you sort everything out. Also, the software handles all types of accounts. Our investment account support is basic but it will most likely be enough for most users. We are however planning on enhancing our investment support.

Nate Howland @Moneyspire: I downloaded the trial yesterday and really liked it. There are two features though that either don't exist or I somehow missed. I currently use these and would need them implemented before I could adopt Moneyspire as my personal finance system. Can you comment on these?

Scheduled transactions: I didn't see any way to schedule transactions to automatically be entered into a register. I found the reminders feature, but in many cases I don't want to be reminded to enter a transaction, I just want the system to enter (like my utility bills for example).

Budget rollover: I didn't find a way to setup budget categories to "roll over" from month to month. For example if I budget $100 every month for groceries and spend only $80 I want the next month to show $120 ($100 for the normal budget + $20 that rolled over from the previous month). That should also work in reverse; if I spend $120 one month on groceries the next month should give me only $80 to spend. Or at least have some way to accommodate this type of budgeting. I'd also want a budget report that would show budgeted vs actual spending in each category so I could see how closely I'm following the spending plan I set out to use.

Thanks!

Moneyspire @David: Direct Connect works with predominantly U.S. banks. However, you can import OFX, QFX, QIF and CSV files from your bank's website (whichever format your bank supports).

We are working on improving the budget feature and you can expect to see positive changes in the near future, including rollover.

CFGuy Dear Moneyspire,
Regarding your EULA/"Fine Print", what is your installation policy for the program - 1 computer only, 1 computer + 1 laptop, or all owned computers (jut not used at the same time)? Also, may license be transferred to new computer(s) or same computer after fresh Windows install? And what about "activation". Is any required, and if so is it software or hardware-based with digital footprint(s)?
Second, a more broad question about the program and its features (which you did an excellent job of listing, btw). I am a current, and longtime, "Quicken" user (the "Rental Property" version, which is really an offset of "Quicken Home & Business" with (in my opinion) some minimal features regarding the management of rental properties a user might own or manage. However, I am always open to switching programs; especially of I feel the new program offers me many more features than what I currently am using, at a reasonable price-point.
How would switching over to "Moneyspire 2017" benefit me over what I currently have with "Quicken Home & Business"? What features does "Moneyspire 2017" offer that "Quicken Home & Business" currently does not? Additionally, would it be possible and beneficial to use both programs simultaneously, in order to benefit from some extra features that "Moneyspire 2017" might offer (perhaps such as better investment tracking) while keeping the already familiar "Quicken Home & Business" for my primary (or simultaneous) financial management? Thanks so much for your offering and response to these questions. -Cfguy

Moneyspire @CFGuy Thanks for your inquiry into Moneyspire!

1) Regarding installation on multiple computers: You can install and use Moneyspire on all the computers in your household. So you can easily install on all of your computers and also move licenses from one computer to another.

2) Regarding Moneyspire Vs Quicken Home & Business/Rental Property Manager. Moneyspire Pro comes with an invoicing feature, which you can very well use for your small business and personal finances together (and many of our users do). Besides that, the rest of the features of Moneyspire (Basic, Plus and Pro Editions) will allow you to easily manage both your personal and business finances in one easy to use interface. Moneyspire features are very comparable to Quicken - Account tracking, Bill tracking (we believe our "Reminders" feature is one of the best in the industry!), Budgeting, Reporting, etc. If you are looking to use something that is fresh and new and easier to use (clean UI with no bloat), Moneyspire is a great choice! And yes, you may also use Moneyspire in tandem with Quicken Rental Property Management if you would like to, that may be a good choice for your particular case.

We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

P.S. We are constantly improving our software, especially based on user feedback, so if you have any comments or suggestions please let us know!

Moneyspire @Nate Howland

Regarding Android: Yes, we are working on an Android app and hope to have it out by the end of the year. This is a big priority so rest assured Android support is coming as soon as possible!

Regarding Budgets/Reports: There is no budget roll-over option yet, but this is coming in the near future. While there is no Budget vs. Actual report, you can see budget vs. actual in the Budget screen. From there you can also click on an individual budget category and see the transaction details that pertain to it. You can also select different time periods in the budget screen to see your progress for last month, last 6 months, etc.

We hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions or comments!

Daniel I was trying to find more info about the "Invoice customers" feature in the PRO version, with no success. After all, this feature only makes the difference between the free today Plus version and the $30 Pro version.
Please provide more details about that. I would buy the Pro, but need to be convinced that this feature is something I need.
If I get the Plus version today, is there a way to upgrade it to the PRO version in the future at a price lower than buying the full PRO?

Also: are you planning to have a Lifetime Upgrades option in the future?

Thanks.

Moneyspire @Daniel (2) The Invoice feature in Pro Edition allows you to create professional invoices for your customers. It lets you track which invoices are due or overdue. That's the difference between Plus and Pro. If you decide to upgrade from Plus to Pro we will honor the $30 price for you. Just contact our support team and they will assist you!

Regarding Lifetime Upgrades option: This may be a possibility in the future but we have no information regarding this at this time.

Jim Buchanan I am interested but I would like to know if 'Actual report' is considered the same as an Annual Report. Not being an accountant, and being the Treasurer of a small club, I am on the outlook for something which will give me one. I have to make one up for myself with Excel but if the program will do it, great. Probably a heck of a lot more accurate as I sometimes put things in the wrong place and then it takes hours to find.
As for the lifetime upgrade which we would all love to get, I'm just as interested in a reduced price for the next 'Upgrade' not 'update'.

Albert Jester Hello, two questions:
Quicken basically turns their programs into a paper weight after two years. Do you disable any functions after a set period of time or plan to?

Is there a major update to version 18 due soon?

This program looks good, I will buy it depending on the answers
Thank you!

Wade Townsend Hi, I have several questions about this as I am a long time Money Mgmt Program user who started out with MS Money then when they stopped had to go to Q. Currently Q is giving me lots of trouble and am mod\st interested in your program... So here are my questions,

When I become a user will I have to upgrade the program yearly in order o maintain support? I notice your online prices for the Plus and Pro versions are a little pricey so do you offer current users upgrade prices that are lower?

Is there a separate price for using the cloud option and how much storage is offered?

Is your Archive a true Archive and can I choose how many years or time periods to archive?
Many thanks, looking forward to your responses.

Moneyspire @Albert Jester

1) We do not disable any functions of the software, and we do not have any planned obsolescence or "sunsetting" functionality like Quicken does. This is a great reason to switch to Moneyspire!

2) Yes, there is a version 2018 being planned and worked on. But 2017 will work just fine even when 2018 comes around.

Moneyspire @Wade Townsen

1) You will never be forced to upgrade to newer versions, unlike Quicken that forces you to upgrade to maintain functionality and support.

2) We've been told that Moneyspire is a great alternative to both MS Money and Quicken!

3) When newer major version upgrades are released, current users are offered discount pricing if they want to upgrade. However, they are never forced to upgrade and if they do not want to upgrade their software will work just fine.

4) There is no charge for using the Moneyspire Cloud feature. Storage is not limited, as it is designed to store your Moneyspire data, which can be anywhere from a few hundred KB to a few MB. But if you have larger data (such as 30 years of Quicken data that has been migrated over like some of our users have) that will be just fine.

5) Our Archive feature works like this; You choose the date period to archive up to (i.e. "archive my transactions up to December 31, 2016) and those will be put in a separate file which you can open and view at any time. During the archive process, you can choose to remove those archived transactions from your current data file (which is the most used option, though you can choose to keep your old transactions in your current file if you would like).

Robert Kitchell Don't waste your time have to subscribe to their download service to get data for most banks
Aug 7 2017 at 9:51am Copy Link
0
Moneyspire @Robert Kitchell This is not true. We support multiple methods to download your bank data:

1) File imports: OFX, QFX, QIF and CSV formats - This is free and most banks support this.

2) Direct Connect - This is also free and a lot of banks (but not all) support this.

3) If all else fails, we provide an optional paid service called Moneyspire Connect. We get charged every time a user connects to their bank, so we have to charge for this service

If your bank doesn't support Direct Connect we don't have the power to change that. You should call your bank and let them know that you would like them to support Direct Connect.
