Certain professions, like healthcare and law, feature the smartest people doing the most boring, repetitive work ever. I'm talking about boilerplate texts and frequently used words/phrases that come up in the course of everyday work, when replying to emails, or preparing reports.

How many cumulative hours have you spent typing the same thing over and over? Time to put an end to it with today's discount software promotion, PhraseExpander!

PhraseExpander stores your favorite and most frequently used phrases, boilerplate language, and templates, letting you insert them into any document with an abbreviation in two seconds. With PhraseExpander, you'll instantly find yourself more productive and efficient, producing the same amount of work in so much less time, with so much less effort, simply by skipping the tedium of typing the same words over and over. And it's not just for plain text, either - PhraseExpander works with formatted text and images too!

The more you work with PhraseExpander, the more you'll love it. If you work in a highly specialized field like a specific medical discipline (or if you deal with a heap of customer emails every day), you already know of at least a handful of documents that you constantly must initiate. Now, with PhraseExpander, you can make templates available in any application, creating consistency across all of your output. Just fill out the missing information in the template using checkboxes, multiple selection items, grids, and BOOM, you're done.

You can even use PhraseExpander to launch your favorite applications and websites, as well as to perform web searches (shortcuts to search Wikipedia, Amazon, online dictionaries, and Google are already included).

Throw in auto-corrections, word and phrase auto-completion (SmartComplete), and clipboard history, and PhraseExpander becomes an indispensable weapon in your battle for increased productivity and efficiency.

When you buy PhraseExpander you are allowed to install the software on 1 computer. (If you purchase the Extended License option, you can install the software on up to 3 computers - used by you). If more people are using the software, one license per user is required.

Trying to decide which version of PhraseExpander (PhraseExpander Professional, PhraseExpander Standard) is right for you? Check out the feature comparison matrix and make an informed decision!

This promotion includes the following:
PhraseExpander Professional v4.8 ($149)
PhraseExpander Standard v4.8 ($59)

2LogicalSolutions I purchased this software previously on a discount and have nothing but positive things to say about it. The developer has done an amazing job with this product. They are helpful and quick to respond to questions and issues. This is a must have for anyone that does repetitive functions related to populating data or just has a lot of common notes to retype. A+!

Stefan Hauber Is there a way/hotkey which allows, instead of expand a phrase, to copy the expanded phrase into the clipboard?

Also an option would be nice to enable automatic clipboard-clearing at the next startup/login. Quite often passwords are copied into the clipboard...

Andrea Nagar Hello Stefan,

You can copy a text into the Clipboard (instead of expanding it) by using this syntax:

{#clipboardSet expanded text#}

but you'd need to do it on an individual phrase basis.

Regarding the Clipboard reset, you can set it so it's done when you exit the application (not at next login) but that's a very interesting suggesting we'll keep in mind for future releases.

Geoffrey User I assume the 60% discount only applies to new licences and not upgrades?

Andrea Nagar Yes, that's for new licenses only.

Staggsy Is there a discount for upgrade protection? Already purchased and worth every penny

Andrea Nagar No, I'm sorry, this is for new licenses only. With this deal, you'll get some saving compared to the buying the upgrade protection (as you'd pay $60 instead of $65).

Stefan Hauber Hi Anrea, thanks for the answers.

About the first: Interesting, but I didn't meant it like that.
I, as user (instead as the phrase-programmer) would like to be able to decide (in each case), if I want it to be expanded to the console (with the standard hotkey) or clipboard (with another hotkey). Perhaps this implementaiton (of a single additional (optional) hotkey) would make sense...

Andrea Nagar I got your point, Stefan. Then currently it cannot be done. But that's an interesting point.
Could you tell me more of why you'd need that feature. It's better if you write directly at helpphraseexpander.com

Thanks.
Andrea

Brad This is excellent, excellent software. Andrea is super responsive when a problem or issue comes up, which is quite rare.

I do a lot of communication in my organization, much of it involves repetitive use statements. For myself it is well worth the time savings even at full price.
Renewals each year thereafter are $65. So this is a great deal getting in the door for half the normal cost. This is how I got hooked on the products usefulness.

After your initial purchase your receive 12 months of updates and upgrades. After the 12 months is up, renewals as I remember are around $65.

So for less than $6 per month you keep yourself current with the latest versions and fixes. To me it is very cost effective…....... especially when compared against the value of your time.

Ulrich Got my license today and am still learning how to use this product, but I think that the info in "The Fine Print" is currently inaccurate and should be updated. License activation IS required on each computer where you want to use the product, even if you run the software from a USB stick. The product can be copied to a USB thumb drive, but it isn't truly portable, as the license info is written to the host computer instead of being locked to the USB device. The author told me that a portable version is in development, but this release can't be used as such.

Andrea Nagar Hello Ulrich,

you can technically run PhraseExpander from an USB drive but the application will still need to write some information on the target PC (including the license key info).

MojoMan So... as far as a portable version... would users have to buy an extended license ?

If this is the case then I don't see what advantage a portable version would provide... as I assume you could copy a phrase database from one computer to another without a portable license.

Andrea Nagar You'd need to license each PC you use. Of course you can copy the database containing the data between computers but you can also store it on dropbox or other cloud drives for easy synchronization.

Andrea Nagar No, it doesn't work on Metro apps.

S G Andrea-

Can you clarify the licensing. If I have 3 computers only one person will be using, is that covered by one professional license?

I am asking because fine print says licensed per user, but installation says on one computer only.

Thanks!

Andrea Nagar Hello S.G.

sure if you buy one license (for $59.95) you get the right to install it on a single computer. If you want to install PhraseExpander on up to 3 PCs (e.g. home and work and laptop) for your own use, you'd need to purchase the Extended License (which costs $20 more). You can select that option at checkout.

Stefan Hauber Hello Andrea,

about the clipboard-copy usage: It might be useful to be able to copy the content to more than one position.

In my special case I have a background-program running, which checks the clipboard and manipulates it adequately, if it has a certain prefix. So I can define some encrypted passwords in PhraseExpander, nobody can read them in plain (evaluating the PhraseExpander-config), and these are expanded (if my prg. is running). If PE could do that, it might result in a fast workflow

Perhaps the default clipboard-copy CTRL-C would make sense: If the proposal-textbox pops up, pressing CTRL-c could copy the content to the clipboard (and perhaps clear the user-entered word...

This would help too, if someone is looking over one's shoulder: While doing this the original password is never shown on the screen...

It might not be a very big feature, but it could be useful and, I suppose, this is could be implemented quite easy...

Thanks a lot...
