Javier Gil Ok, when I go to the official website, there's a link which says updates:

And the date is march 2013.

My apologies.

Martin User Um ... on following the 'website' link I discovered that the price of this program is actually €49.95 - which works out a lot less than $129.95, whatever the exchange rate. I agree Bits offer at $25 is still attractive, but it's not nearly as exceptional as the 81% claimed ...

Constantin Florea @Martin User - The 49.95 Euro price is actually the regular price for the Standard version. The regular price for the Professional version is 99.95 EURO:

We are promoting the Professional version during today's promotion.

Nigel Brewster Either way 129.99 - 99.99 = 30 when a company can't do simple math it's a bit of a worry. However looks good but I don't have the time to try it out properly else I might of been tempted. Not interested at all in wysiwyg but the code side of it looks good as well as SEO and w3 standard tester

Lupke Brother I see this software has a WYSIWYG editor. Can this software connect to a website and edit existing pages on a server? Like the older Macromedia Contribute software (adobe nowadays).

I'm looking for an idiot proof editor where people can drag and drop photo's, make text et cetera from blanc scratch.

Nigel Brewster But that would still be wrong, I'm trying to be in three different currency at present as im in the UK. But 130 dollars is still 103/104 Euros according to Google money.

Constantin Florea @Nigel Brewster - After the Get This Deal button is pressed, the customer is redirected to the shopping cart where the product can be purchased. If the currency is set to USD in the shopping cart then the regular price will be shown as $129.95 and the discounted price will be shown as $25.00. We can only show prices in USD for any promotion page.

Calvin Smith Considering the HTML 5 standards are still in flux, they will doubtless change as new features & functionality are added, requiring updates to this and other similar programs. Not to mention all the new Web technologies appearing every few months. Not only do we now have jQuery, there's Angular JS, Backbone JS, Extensible JS, and who knows what else is to come?

Regardless, support for developing mobile enabled sites is what I'd recommend people focus on when purchasing aby development tools.

Gary Smith Since the code should match the DOCTYPE specified, does Web Architect 10 Professional identify incorrect HTML editing such as typing a slash after rather than before, (e.g., paragraph end element (p))? Also, does it identify obsolete attributes in code? And finally, does it catch stray elements such as an extra dee-eye-vee when they don't have a matching part? Those would be important to anyone in the website business of course.

Nigel Brewster I bit the bullet and bought it. Of course I don't know everything to it yet as I haven't had a lot of time. However I'm impressed so far and I've used umpteen HTML editors and text editors over a decade. I've already configured a web server for PHP which was easy to do. It's also easy to source Bootstrap and my personal fav Foundation to use with it. £16 UK pounds can't go wrong for that. It also looks very cool and easy on the eye, which I find helps because of poor eyesight.
It's got good SEO points to it, as well as HTML tidy and W3 validation both for CSS and HTML including 5.

disenchanted I installed the program and it opened fine.

The only problem I encountered was entering the license key.
It would NOT accept a cut'n paste. And I hate manually entering a long license key. (I could "paste" the same key into Word, Notepad, etc, but not this program's registration page).

I finally gave up and just entered the key manually and then all was well for the registration.

Looks like it will work out fine for web work.
Looks like a great deal so far.

Tuomas Hi

I try your program Trial version. That version don't detect my "Preview Browsers" like Firefox and Chrome. And if I try download Gecko or WebKit engine, links are broken.

Second question.

How much cost upgrade WA 10 example WA 11 if you are used your 1 year free upgrade time?

When you publish new version to WA?

mirabyte Software Hi,

you can install any external browser as preview in the settings dialog. You just have to select the EXE file of the browser you want to use.

The internal preview DL links are:
http://download.mirabyte....-1.0.5.exe
http://download.mirabyte....ion-22.exe

The links on the Website will be updated next week, because we are currently preparing a major relaunch on the site.

The update to version 11 will be free within one year. We give free updates and support for one year after purchase and this also covers major versions. The next update is planned for this summer - sorry, we have no exact date yet but it is already under development!

CFGuy Dear mirabyte,

Thanks for this very attractive offer here on BDJ! Question- can “password protected” portions of websites be designed using the “Web Architect 10 Professional” program - for example if someone wants to design a section of his/her website that contains documents with sensitive information (for download by selected individuals), can a website owner set up a portion of hus/her site that would require a visitor to enter a pre-determined username and password before they could have access to this portion of the website (containing the uploaded documents/files that include sensitive information that could be downloaded by selected website visitors(who were selectively provided necessary login information by the wbsite developer))? Also, what degree of safety would password-protected portions of websites have (keeping in mind that, realistically, it seems any website is subject to “hacking” and security issues these days). Thanks so much for your response to my questions, and again for this very nice offer here on BDJ. -Cfguy

_*_ EDIT: The link above has the answer; I missed it.

This program looks very nice, but I am totally new to this level of software and wonder if it is too difficult to understand without any prior knowledge? Otherwise serious consideration would be given to purchasing.

Nigel Brewster @CF Guy I'm not Mirabyte but I've used this editor for some time now. Your question is a one that's nothing really to do with any editor if I understand you right, but it's rather something that needs doing on a server with SSL. You can password protect with scripts which you can do with this and any editor but they not infallible.

_*_ It depends on your needs, but it has everything that is required for and designer/developer. If your a hobbyist it will work well, but only you can decide.

Jester With Windows 10 almost here, will the online activation process allow the program to work on a PC which the program was already activated?

If not, what is the process to get the program activated?

How about a clean Windows 10 install on a PC which the program was already activated?

Robert User I also notice that the program does not recognize the installed browsers as claimed. In my case, it finds Firefox and Internet Exploter but not Chrome.

I hope in updating your website, you can add pages where currently the program attempts to reach but ends up with a 404 page on your website. I don't recall where the link is in the application but I am sure it is somewhere in the settings area.

Clicking on the Gecko Browser Engine/Webkit browser engine (Re)install button leads to a page on your website in German, which is not helpful for users that have the program installed for use in a different language. I hope you will add a language selection on that page until the program (with an update) can direct to a page that matches their installed language.

When the program has an error, a dialog come up with the heading of "Error," which is totally ambigious to the user when several applications are running (any one of them could have created the dialog). I hope you will ensure each error dialog will indicate that it is from Web Architect. One example you might check on is one that shows "Unable to load preview (): Object reference not set to an instance of an object." How would a user be able to decypher that and have a clue what to do or who to report it to?

Meindert User Can this be compared with the Coffeecup HTML editor (http://www.coffeecup.com/html-editor/) or the rapidphp editor (http://www.rapidphpeditor.com/)? They both have html, php, css etc edit functions. Seems a bit all the same to me but does someone have information about possible extra features of web architecture?
Thanks

disenchanted Does this html editor have any WYSIWYG functionality?

I was reviewing the basic details over at
https://en.wikipedia.org/...ML_editors
and it lists your program as not having WYSIWYG capabilities.

But then I don't know how old the features list is for the programs outlined on wikipedia. Or if it is still accurate.

Nigel Brewster For anyone that's having difficult setting browsers up I did a little video if anyone is interested, although Mirabyte should be doing more of these ;) https://www.youtube.com/w...e=youtu.be

@Meindert - I don't know about Blumentals software, but I've used Coffeecup for about 10 yrs, there is no comparison, Coffeecup's is a toy compared to this.

Doug Atkinson @disenchanted: it dosn't appear that Web Architect has a WYSIWYG capability, but by viewing the video on the company's home page (linked above), you can see that it does have an instant preview screen where you can at the click of a button see what your current page looks like in a variety of browsers. Web Architect is a code utility, with many helps and scripts, but you will need to understand the code you are building - it is not a "drag and drop" application.
