jman My favorite player! Does what a player should do and does it very well and simply.

I do wish there was more of an explanation for the novices, such as myself, of the many options and components one must choose during installation.

Downloaded and installed fine on a Win10x64 system, Thank you Inmatrix and, as always, to the BDJ team!

I like the player, and bought the lifetime license. I do have a question though. I am using it on a Surface Pro 4, Windows 10 Pro, which has a 4K display. When using the player, even in full screen, the controls are very small and difficult to use because of the size. Is there anyway to adjust the size of the controls, or is this something that is going to be addressed in the next version?

Mr Dave Does this require that I move all my media files into one folder?
Can it remember what's on removable media, such as an external HD, so I can see a complete picture of what I have by a given artist, and search for things to figure out which drive to connect?

Thanks in advance!

jman @ Lawrence Wenclawski

The top bar of mine reads "Zoom Player MAX - Giveaway v12.5". There is nothing about it being a trial. The order receipt states "The application is already unlocked which means you do not need a registration code" and mine seems to have installed fine. Perhaps you should try downloading a fresh copy then uninstalling and reinstalling again from the fresh one. Just a thought. :)

Inmatrix Hi,

To answer your questions -
1. The installation can only be done until a day after the giveaway ends.
2. v12.5 is not obsolete at all - it is a version that was released a few months ago, but is very recent and robust.
3. This is a giveaway version and does not need a key.
If you have "Trial version" in the options->about screen, this means you installed a regular version that needs a key to be activated, not the giveaway version (or you may have not uninstalled the regular version before installing the giveaway).

@John Barnett - You can change the size of different controls by choosing a different skin - please check out http://inmatrix.com/skins.shtml

@Mr Dave - You do not need to change files location, you can browse for files using different ways, including file browser or use the media library features (for which the video on this page is about). There is also a media scanner for this purpose.

@Jboy - During installation you only need to press "next" most of the time. At the end we do have codecs installations, which are the functions we use to playback all sorts of file formats. We recommend installing them all for the best playback experience. None are viruses or malware, and their sole purpose is playback.
About other customization explanations, please see the left menu at http://inmatrix.com/zplayer/ for explanations of specific topics.

Hope I didn't miss any question :)

daug Lawrence -

I did the same thing multiple times. When the window pops up that says 'install version 12.7, CLOSE that box and do NOT install the newest version. That's how you're getting a TRIAL version. NOT installing 12.7 gets you the UNLOCKED version that is being offered.

You have to pay for any upgrades.

Inmatrix Hi,

IMPORTANT : About the "Trial version" issue --
This is a giveaway, but cannot be upgraded, so you need to uncheck the "Upgrade to Zoom Player MAX v13.7.1.1371" checkbox when installing.
If you leave this checkbox checked, then you upgraded, and it is only a trial version.
If you already installed and see Trial version in Options->About, uninstall Zoom Player, then install the same giveaway exe without that checkbox to have the giveaway version properly and not upgrade.

Thank you Bruno_user for pointing this out.

@Daniel, you can install it only during the giveaway.

@M be, one year of free upgrades means all minor and major versions until a version whose date is over a year after the license date.
So for example, if you buy on 20.10.2017, you can upgrade to any version that is released until the 20.10.2018.

@Dave_rennie - Most set Zoom Player to play the CD when inserting it (in Advanced Options->Playback->"On CD/DVD insert").
Otherwise, you can just double click the file in the file browser just like any file.

I hope that covers most issues :)
Play nice! ;)

Inmatrix Hi,

The promotion is a giveaway of Zoom Player v14, without any upgrades.
You can use it as long as you do not upgrade.
The act of upgrading the giveaway will cause the giveaway to revert to the paid version and ask for a purchased key.

However, if you purchase Zoom Player Lifetime, you can upgrade to any future version, minor or major. (and change computers when needed)

I hope this removes the cloud of uncertainty ;)

Inmatrix Hi Peter,

We advise to install these codecs, as we use specific versions of each codec, and all our codecs are open source.
However, if the needed codecs are already installed, there will be no problem.
This means that after installing the K-Lite codec pack, some media may play ok, but some may still be missing a codec for correct or optimal playback.

Ray User Sorry, but this program is way too complicated and not intuitive at all. I had to go to their site and search the help files just to figure out how to add my music files. I can't figure out how to easily browse files and that's where it lost me. It looks very nice but it is waaaay too complicated an unintuitive for me. I would have been very upset if I had paid money for this.

Inmatrix Peter and ray,

Zoom Player is built to be at the highest quality of playback and extremely customizable, so each user can set it up their preferred way. It also allows users to choose their preferred initial interface, so you can start in the file browser, media library, or other options.

Ray, file browser is Shift+F ;)
Music files, like any other files, can also be played by just double clicking them or choosing them all and right clicking -> "play with Zoom Player".

Once you set it up the way you like it, it's all for the better :)

Serious Noize I've tried previous giveaway versions of this software. It's actually really good. And I would like to say thanks to BitsDjour and Inmatrix for the opportunity.

I would like to however offer a few suggestions to the developers. Currently, one of my favorite players is SMPlayer which is free, and the reason why is it remembers settings "Per File" when playing them. Is there an option to turn such a thing on for Zoom Player or is that feature not available? I realize once you set an option for one file it goes to the other, but I am talking about a PER INDIVIDUAL FILE remember settings. This is important when you consider your videos may come from many sources and the resolution is not always going to be the same. Most people, like me I suspect are interested in removing the BLACK BARS which can easily be done with Zoom Player SHIFT+ALT+Z I think it is, but the problem is it oversize's the picture and some things are left off the screen.

I would also like to ask or request in future versions, a simple shortcut key combo to adjust the picture Vertical or Horizontal on a small Pixel scale. While I realize there may be a setting to adjust such things, and possibly a keyboard combination to do so on the zoom, I haven't found it yet if it is there.

Also, something else to consider, if you are watching a movie 16:9, select ASPECT RATIO 4:3, and then SELECT the following keyboard shortcut - SHIFT+ALT+Z that will result in at least 16:9 video filling the screen in my experience. It may not work for everyone, honestly I have no idea, different monitors and such.

To be fair, I have a few video's I watch that have some odd aspect ratio's and that is why I mentioned what I did above that would resolve the issue on a per VIDEO File play memory setup.

It's a great player, no doubt about that, a bit confusing, and Like I said I have used many previous giveaways. And InMatrix is a very kind and generous company to offer these giveaways along with BitsDjour. So don't take my comment as one who is complaining, I am simply requesting features and giving my opinion.

Thanks again!

Inmatrix @R Master -
This is rare, but since some codecs are updated, it is possible that the newer versions of the codecs were not used correctly by the other players.
I'm guessing that if you upgrade the other players or downgrade the correct codec, this should solve itself.

@Serious Noize -
In Advanced options->Playback->History , we have many "history" settings that remembers (if you wish to) each file current position, volume, subtitles, etc.
It is best to set the settings you like once, and enjoy later :)

About resolution, there are many related settings in Advanced options->Playback->Video->Aspect Ratio , but we do not have a history mechanism for the preferred aspect ratio of each file ..
You can set the general settings to what you like , but generally pressing "R" to switch aspect ratio is usually the easiest.

Have fun :)

Michael R. Is ZoomPlayer able to play all BluRay-discs, i.e. also the typically protected ones?

A license can be installed on many computers, but only one should run Zoom Player at any given time. If you want 2 instances running at the same time, you will need 2 licenses.

Toto Hi. I don't understand: the offer today is Zoom Player at 40% > $17.97
It's written also: "Please note folks: with your purchase, you get lifetime updates for the product."

And below: Zoom Player MAX - 1 Year Upgrades v15 ($17.97)
Zoom Player MAX : Lifetime License v15 ($75.95)

So the offer at $17.97 is NOT for lifetime updates, right?
If I want lifetime updates I have to choose the version at $75.95; which is NOT a 40% discount.

If Windows Defender is giving you any warning about this exe, please send us screenshots and we will solve this issue with them. (regsupport@inmatrix.com)

@Toto - You are correct, the "with your purchase, you get lifetime updates for the product" text is only true for the lifetime version.
We will ask to fix this error.

@Rob User - Lifetime is valid for all future versions.
The 1-year license is valid forever on versions that are released up to one year from date of purchase. It will not be valid on later versions.

Kenneth Bates After making payment following the links provided from this site, I received an email from Cleverbridge acknowledging my payment and giving me a Cleverbridge Reference number 212762792. I followed the instructions from there but I had previously tried to download a trial version from your own site. I then saw a message saying that I must download the program ONLY from the link provided through BDJ. I had not noticed the line in your helpsheet telling me to download the latest version of Zoom Player by using the link provided at the end of that line.
Having not seen that link led me to write my first message on BDJ. Only today, with no further help I was going through all the literature I had received and, using the link just referred to, I was able to download a zip file from which I was able to load the program.
I hope this answers your question. Unfortunately, I did not record where the provided link took me.

But for $16 (the cost plus tax) its definitely worth it! My now goto player for watching video's either one's I already have or by loading video's through youtube or whatever.. I'm thinking it'll take a while to learn everything this program has to offer but for the price I don't think you'll find a better player anywhere!

Blaine Bauer Great player. I've used this player for a few years now, and wouldn't use anything else. My 1-year upgrade license expired some time ago; I've rebuilt my computer and moved to a new one in all that time and didn't have some of the re-registration issues I've had with other software (e.g. Office was the worst). I'm not sure why I'd want to upgrade, though.

Shirley Noel Zoom Player will not detect a purchased DVD in my Blu-ray player yet the same DVD will play automatically using other players such as Cyberlink's PowerDVD. I was hoping to purchase this software during the 50% off deal but only if it will work with my system. Does anyone know how I can get Zoom Player to detect and play my DVD's?

Robert Crombie Could not find the requirements anywhere.
If you install into XP, create a Restore point first, as it completes the installation, and mentions problem with XP install, AND yet it completes the install.

Daniel Wyns The price announced is 55.96 $ (lifetime)

Today's promotion includes the following:
Zoom Player MAX - 1 Year Upgrades v16 ($17.97)
Zoom Player MAX : Lifetime License v16 ($55.96)

but on purchase page it turns out as $ 67.71 or worse € 63.85
(actually $ 55.96 should be € 47.38)
What sort of scam is this ?
How do I get the deal offered at $ 55.96 ?

Inmatrix Daniel,

Press "Get this deal" button at the top, then click either the one-year or lifetime link, and you'll be on the shop with the discount.

Constantin Florea @Daniel Wyns, I checked and it seems that the pricing is correct. Please notice that the prices we're showing are actually USD prices which have no tax. We are always showing USD prices for all our promotions. However customers from different parts of the world may see other prices because of tax amounts based on their country of residence. So if you were to change the country to United States and the currency to USD, you will see that the prices are the correct ones.

In The Fine Print tab in the promotion page:
https://www.bitsdujour.co...player-max
we do have the following:
"
Prices do not necessarily include taxes, which will vary by country.

Eric Dear Sirs,

The product appears to be highly flexible & polished :)

Two questions, if I may:

1. Does it have provision for casting (say - to a Chromecast device or a modern Smart-TV)?

2. When was v. 16 (advertised) released?

Thanks in advance for your helpful replies,

Sincerely,

Eric T.

Eric Thanks Tazzie!

Still need to know if the pack supports casting though ...

N.B.: The dates at the link you provided appear to be kind of mixed up:
* 16B4 in March and 16B1 in June?
* Final in May and Beta in June?
Doesn't make sense (to me, at least ...)

J S QUESTiON:

Does "Lifetime License v16" only include Minor Updates for version 16,

OR,

Does "Lifetime License v16" include BOTH Minor Updates (v16.01 to v16.99) AND Major Upgrades (v16, v17, v18 etc) from Now ON until the product is no longer updated or supported by Inmatrix?

riad af In the past I purchased a __Lifetime license__ of zoom player max in 2014, version 12.7 i think, last time i checked the program keeped disturbing me with an ad that reminds me that the purchase was long time ago... I just uninstalled the program and migrated to a competitor software. Maybe the developer can fix that problem ?

Inmatrix Hi Riad,

Perhaps there was another license installed or the license was not a lifetime one.
Please send the issue you described, with your email to regsupportinmatrix.com and we will be able to see which license was bought and how we can correct the issue.

riad af Hello
Thanks for your answer by email, from it I realise that my licence is for infinite usage of my purchased version without infinite updates.

Can you please explain the difference between Zoom Player in the Microsoft Store and Zoom Player Max?
