Max Murkel Buyers should know, that TI 2012 does not work on a PC using GUID (GPT) as HDD- partition style. You then need to buy the Plus Pack additionally. However, I'm not sure if it is possible to access a GUID- HDD from a recovery-CD.

Otherwise Acronis TI worked fine for me over years.

Max Murkel @ egmweb:
Concluded from Horizon Datasys' comment re. Rollback Rx on Tuesday ( it does NOT support GUID ) I doubt that Drive Cloner RX does it.

Cheryl Rutherford I have and use Acronis True Image 11 Home and IT IS DYNAMITE good! I will be ordering 2012 for my other PC. I also purchased MalWare Bytes, which is also excellent.

I am not kidding you and NO, I do not work for nor do I personally know anyone from Acronis or BitDuJour, but if you miss this deal, you will miss out on phenomenal software. I am a Software Engineer and Writer and I have to tell you that of all the SW I have used so far, AND IT HAS BEEN ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ONE OUT THERE THAT HAS MADE A NAME FOR THEMSELVES, this one seems to have the smallest footprint, does everything I want it to, does not hog resources, and DOES THE JOB PERFECTLY - both pieces of SW.

Max Murkel @ Cheryl:

For Acronis soft I always recommend not to install a brand new
product but to wait for the first 2 or 3 new builds. But if it works, it usually works fine.

Thanks for the tip. Will have a closer look.

Roger Thomasson Hi folks, awaiting the official word on the license questions now.

Nico Westerdale Guys we know you have a lot of licensing questions and we're trying to get them answered ASAP.

While we're waiting you can comb through the end user license agreements:
Acronis:
http://www.acronis.com/su...-home.html

MBAM:
http://forums.malwarebyte...opic=88041

This was a little last minute getting this one together, sorry we're not doing our usual instant replies here!

Nico Westerdale Also here's a quick overview of the license policies of both products:

Acronis:
Product may be used indefinitely after purchase. Licensed per user for non-concurrent use only. Transfer of a license to another owned computer allowed. Online license activation is required without a hardware footprint. Free upgrades for 1 month, paid upgrade with no discounts to future versions. Support to next major version and minor versions thereafter. 30 days return policy.

MBAM:
Product may be used indefinitely after purchase. Licensed per computer. Free upgrades for life. 30 days return policy.

* Please note these policies have not been "officially" signed off by the developers in both cases, we're running on the last known information on both dating back a few months. Licenses may have changed since, although it's unlikely. Again this is due to the last-minute nature of this super sweet bundle, we usually have a bit more time (you should have seen us scramble to get this up yesterday)!

Garry Camps if as you say 1 month upgrade policy for acronis is correct, then i think it a ridiculous policy. it normally takes a month or more before any bugs or problems are found and longer to fix.

making the upgrade policy is worthless. if i had know about the upgrade policy o would never have bought (pre ordered) it, i now feel totally ripped off and VERY angry this upgrade policy was no made clearer and i am VERY tempted to cancel my pre order.

i try to buy software i use and feel are worth it, but ridiculous upgrade policies like this make piracy an easy option. i have used acronis products in the past and most work right away or are fixed soon after. this ridiculous upgrade policy rules out any possible fixes because of the stupidly short upgrade time.

acronis can rest assured that unless they change their policy to allow for fixes or patches i WONT be buying ANY of their products in future. i just hope that this product will work without any issues before the upgrade time limit expires.

Mike B @Garry:

The Acronis policy is that you get updates to the current version for as long as they are updating it. What you don't get is a free upgrade to the next major version (2012 is brand new, so there will not be another major upgrade in the next 30 days). They do offer a 30 back return policy (I'm going by Nico's recent post for the return policy info).

Also, Acronis don't offer a blanket upgrade discount to the next major version in general - what they do is have periodic specials where they'll offer limited time discounts for upgrades.

But you're covered for the bugs they fix in the initial release of 2012 - until they stop developing the 2012 version. Acronis is generally on a schedule of releasing a new major version about every year, so they'll be doing updates and patches on 2012 for about another year if they hold to the pattern.

H. H. Hallo,
I found this from acronis, it seems that now the license is definetely bound to the pc where it is installed, this would unfortunately increase the number of companies one has to contact in case of a system change

A S At such a discount, i choose the"shoot and then ask" policy by placing an order before getting the "official" replies to the questions we all are waiting for.
However, i have one burning issue. I finalized my purchase thru Paypal bank transfer which may take 8 to 10 days according to Paypal. Is my order going to be taken into account ? Otherwise i will have to re-order after cancelling the initial one made yesterday.

Please advice.

Thanks for your input.

Nico Westerdale @Standa, This deal is "as written" so it's not a straight upgrade. Still an awesome price though!
